BOOT OF THE DAY | #135 | WHITE’S BOUNTY HUNTER CHROME EXCEL NAVY

in german we say “aller guten dinge sind 3” – okay: here is the third blue boot in between the last three weeks as my boot of the day. from my favorite bootmaker WHITE’S an awesome navy BOUNTY HUNTER made of chrome excel leather. EXTRAORDINARY! the boot has a regular toe, vibram #269 sole, is 6″ inch high, has a rolled up top, copper hardware and pull loops. again abailable at japanese VECK. i think they like blue boots … pics | VECK

some days ago i got a letter from the USA. hm, who should write me a letter from the states? indianapolis stamps? ahhhh, it was from my friend FRED who did a business trip to RW minnesota, chicago, boston … it’s so nice getting “real” handwritten post. i must always emphasize again and again – nowadays uncommon, nearly old school. he sent me greetings from TRURO, CAPE COD where great american artist EDWARD HOPPER has had his summer studio house on STEVENS WAY – beautiful location. FRED wrote me that he will bring a souvenir for me to germany. yesterday KLAUS from volls.de brought me a wonderful CHICAGO COFFEE CUP from INTELLIGENTSIA “fresh roasted coffee” which FRED gave him last week when he visited volls.de. i got the cup because of the STARS on it. i love stars! look at the LIFE TIME GEAR sign above. thank you so much FRED. the cup is in use! pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #134 | NAVY WESCO BOSS ENGINEER BOOT

another blue boot, another boot from japanese “VECK”. this time a classic WESCO BOSS in bright navy, that looks so odd but amazing. outfitted with a VIBRAM #100, double buckle at the bootleg, rolled top.  strange boot – like it or not, anyway this WESCO is eye-caching at all and i think when it is rugged this boot will be a sensation. the price is a sensation too: 150.000 yen which means about 1.800 US $.  pics | VECK

hm, i think i know this cover design from an actual publication … and when i saw this the first time – well, the actual one i mean – i thought, i know this from seeing it somewhere before. famous and great graphic designer NORMAN ROCKWELL did the original – unmistakable! so i took a fast look in the editorial of this actual magazine to look if the maybe “wanted imitation” is commented to the readers as f.ex a respect to NORMAN ROCKWELL or in the name of heritage. but i guessed it would not: it is not. i will save my breath now … . respect to the editor, because he has nerves, i don’t want to have. pics | collected byX-ray delta one on flickr. © estate of NORMAN ROCKWELL

LEVI’S & LIFE TIME GEAR’S VW BULLY T1 1962 PROJECT

last weekend my little LEVI and me started our first big LEGO project: the T1 VW BULLY from 1962. 1332 bricks and pieces have to be sticked together and LEVI is so genius in doing that. damn, this set is for guys over 16 and he is so fast with his 6 years. i am looking for the bricks and checking if he is doing wright. and he is always – wondering!!! after about 4 hours we did a break and i think half of the bricks are built. next weekend we will finish. this makes a lot of fun; i loved playing LEGO as a boy too. pics | LTG

last friday between OLLI THE BARBER and another photo shooting i went to KLAUS to pick up a rain jacket that works from ARC’TERYX VEILANCE. so i just could take some impressions of the new ALDEN & YUKETEN stuff KLAUS got a day before. the complete stuff is really awesome from the mocs over the main guide boots, the blucher and indie styles over to the leather bags. it will took some time to bring the stuff to the online shop, KLAUS said because today the order marathon starts for him with the PITTI UOMO at FIRENCE, italy. if you can’t wait for the stuff to order online, contact him and his staff at volls.de. bad pics | LTG

this morning i went to OLLI to get my hair cut refreshed. and i think it was time to take some photos of HANS JOERG BREHMS illustrations OLLI presents in his rooms. all illustrations are printed digital on canvas. they were made when HANS and me worked for DYNAMITE!
