another day with blue skies, a lot of sun and 30°C here in the heart of germany near frankfurt/main. again another day just sitting in the office; no sports today, there isn’t even time for a short run. beside my beloved cappuccino and espresso hot and on ice i have some absolute drink favorites for those days. with every dose of coffein i take some S.PELLEGRINO sparkle water – an italian classic. for me since years the best water ever. i hate water without sparkle and i hate water with too much sparkle – S.PELLEGRINO has the best balance and a perfect fresh tast. after sports i prefer ice cold alcohol free HEFEWEIZEN from ERDINGER or an ice cold COKE but just in the 0,33 ltr classic glass bootle. RIESLING UNPLUGGED from TESCH and GIN TONIC are my choice on hot summer nights when relaxing over the roof tops of darmstadt city. MONKEY 47 distilled in BLACK FOREST, germany, was “best in glass 2011” gin worldwide, IWSC london. this gin has the absolute perfect taste with tonic water. i never drank a better GT. all glasses are from RIEDEL – best choice! pics | LTG

yesterday afternoon i got a letter from my friend OLIVER WENKEL. S U M M E R T I M E ! in february i did a first post about REYN SPOONER HAWAII SHIRTS when presenting AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION. UWE gave me some time ago three shirts. and now these shirts are tested by 30°C outside in the shadow and i must tell you: just perfect to wear, lightweight, fresh looking with an old school touch, no sweating – i love it. and believe me, there is really a great difference in the performance of a real hawaiian shirt or a a wanna be indeed! here again the significant characteristics of an authentic hawaiian shirt made by REYN SPOONER:

_ the shirt has to be a straight seam with side vents; not round like shirts worn into a trouser
_ pockets that do not break into the pattern design
_ POP OVER or PULL OVER cut for pulling over the head
_ REVERSE PRIN. this means that the shirt is printed inside. so the pattern is not so expressive and looks smarter. a look like bleached from the sun and the saltwater

THE CHEVROLET CAMARO EXPERIENCE

this was an exciting weekend at my hometown FULDA with my parents and my brother’s family: the celebration of my father’s birthday, intensive hiking, watching the champions legue final match and driving the CHEVROLET CAMARO for one day. the white beast was organized by my brother FABIAN who is working at a big GM dealer in FULDA selling CHEVROLET and OPEL: OPEL FAHR. thanks again for this. i have had a lot of fun with this new generation muscle car. damn, too much fun – won’t giving the keys back. but the CAMARO is everything but practical and expensive too. petrol runs through, but the sound and the power will let forget you this. and this is the tragic and danger: you won’t get out of this 408 ps streetfighter. i am not a fan of convertible cars but with the CAMARO it makes sense: the sound of the engine will rush unfiltered to your ears – danger of addiction guaranteed! and the one i drove is the last to get for 2012 from the dealer my brother works. the CAMARO ist sold out official at GM dealers for 2012. there are just 1.000 pieces built each year. maybe someone will buy this one soon so i don’t have to speculate buying this one any more … bad pics | LTG

LIFE TIME GEAR HIKING IN RHOEN

this was a wonderful saturday at my hometown FULDA where my parents and my brother with his family still live. my little son LEVI, my parents and me went to RHOEN for a 12 kilometer hike with about an altitude of 1.ooo meters. great: best weather, good mood, a fine and solid lunch break with WEIZEN and sausage at a log cabin on the top of MILSEBURG. and my DANNER MOUNTAINLIGHT are still the best hiking boots i ever wore! pics | LTG

it is a long time ago, getting this boot as a present from my wife: a custom made MORNING GLORY retro inlay cowboy boot. i think it must have been around 2000 when we did this custom order at CABOOTS.com, el paso, texas. the website was really small at this time compared to the actual look and contents. and the custom made boots got really expensive. wow, damn! the MORNING GLORY was my 2nd boot JOEY SANCHEZ and his guys did for me. it was a really smooth deal and i was so happy when i got my boots. perfect work. and this boot is still one of my most beautiful shoes i own.

yesterday i got a present from my lithoman and friend HARALD FREUD. the bootle and the label look really interesting: BLACK BEARD cuvee red EDITION PIRATS OF THE PALATINUM from LERGENMÜLLER vineyards. i do not know how the vine is tasting – i’ll try it soon. the vineyard has other great labelled vines, named f.ex. 2011 JOHN SILVER, a Blanc de Noirs, dry, 2011 OAK & STEELChardonnay, dry. with the PIRATS OF THE PALATINUM series both brothers STEFAN and JÜRGEN LERGENMÜLLER want to show their heritage and tradition in making vines. more information about the “PFALZPIRATEN” at their website. pics | LTG

some weeks ago i did a great ebay deal: i could get 2 vintage nice worn in vintage FILSON caps for less money. and the best, from inside the caps look nearly new – take a look at the labels and tags. no smell, no sweat, just a perfect condition. the green cap is made of genuine oil wax cotton, custom made in the USA, the orange one is made in china. damn – i hate this! pics | LTG
