so, definitely: this is the nicest, coolest and at the same time smartest saddle shoe i ever saw. respect to FRANS BOONE who did this awesome piece together with ALDEN. i think this style, this combination in design and leathers must be really exclusive – at least i never saw before. this ALDEN shoe features the following characteristics: snuff suede saddle and heel part, vamp and quarters in reversed tobacco chamois, brass eyelets, cordo hyde flat laces, plantation crepe outsole, barrie last D width. it would be an amazing, awesome part of my boot & shoe collection, but the price is the price an ALDEN costs. so my rationality is fighting against the passion. it’s an exciting match! wonderful pics | © FRANS BOONE

BOOT OF THE DAY | #149 | ALDEN X LEFFOT SADDLE SHOE

okay, this is not a boot, but a classic wonderful looking SADDLE SHOE. with a nice color combination which is named black alpine/whiskey. the shoe is made of an alpine/cordovan leather and has a natural plantation crepe sole. this ALDEN x LEFFOT collaboration shoe is completely awesome. the price is unfortunately extraordinary similar to the look. pics | LEFFOT

BOOT OF THE DAY | #104 | MARC McNAIRY SADDLE CHUKKA BOOT

wow, 2011 is nearly finished, the last day is running by. i will close this year with a curios boot combo from the great and a bit crazy MARK McNAIRY i never saw before: a SADDLE CHUKKA BOOT. i am not really a chukka fan, but i call a classic VIBERG CHUKKA my own and that’s enough. it is the same with BUCKs. you can find a classic brogue from McNAIRY in my cupboard and that’s all. but this crazy combo McNAIRY did with UK’s x SANDERS & SANDERS offered by great UNION shop in los angeles is really a must-have. UNION says: “.. honestly speaking, this was another style that Mark had already made up. Don’t fix what ain’t broke. Camel suede chukka boot with a brown leather saddle.
