BOOT OF THE DAY | #102 | Red Wing Shoes THE FRANKFURTER

this one in classic red was my first RED WING SHOE in 1988. it’s style number is 8804. the black one is sold at manufactum.de. they speak about the ”FRANKFURTER” and its style number is 8133. beside  manufactum, they are available at RIDERS ROOM and i think at the RED WING STORE FRANKFURT or B74. ask KAMI for this rare boot. i love it, the pureness and simplicity – awesome. pics | manufactum

HOW TO LACE A BOOT #02 | HIKING LACING

this is another very easy to practise type of lacing inspite it looks a bit complicated on the boot. it is a sort of STRAIGHT BAR LACING which distributes pressure evenly plus keeps the knots & ends to the side, away from snagging undergrowth. for bikers you must lace your boots the way that the knots will be outside away from chain and cranks. HIKING LACING looks really interesting and technic on your boots. here practised on my beloved classic icon RED WING SHOES 877. pics | LTG _ graphic | IAN FIEGGEN

HOW TO LACE A BOOT #01 | ARMY LACING

a good boot needs a perfect lacing. some posts next time will show you other types of boot lacing. i try to check them out and tell you if these are difficult to lace and if they are practical. today i laced up my vintage RED WING IRISH SETTER 877 with a type of ARMY LACING.

at first: ARMY LACING is very easy to practise and it allows more flex.
it is told that Combat boots are notorious for being made of thick, sturdy leather that does not flex very easily, making them firm and uncomfortable for any manoeuvering. This lacing eliminates any crossovers that would hold down the sides of the boot, allowing the leather to crease more freely, particularly near the ankle area. … this lacing is used by the British, Dutch, French and Brazilian armies.” by IAN FIGGEN

SASQUATCHFABRIX EOTOTO | EMBROIDERED COIN PURSE

one of these three purses is LIFE TIME GEAR’S “ITEM OF THE WEEK”. and i am really excited when it will arrive – i had to order it at once when i discovered this little must-have. i love the style of the “DAY OF THE DEAD” or “DIA DE LOS MUERTOS” skulls very much. the graphics and colors are wonderful. and the best of the ITEM OF THE WEEK purse is, that it shows an initial “E”,  the first letter of my name. i know this one was especially made for me … ha, ha, ha! “hailing from TOKYO, the pioneering SASQUATCHFABRIX are widely regarded as the future of Tokyo Streetwear.“ the purse is made from 100% leather, lenght 10 cm, width 9 cm. three differnet style, only available at LN-CC london. pics | LN-CC.com

YUKETEN | EXCLUSIVE LEOPARD COUNTRY RANGER

these YUKETEN are exclusive made for LONDON based LN-CC. really strange. a mix of rockabilly style and a classic country moc. here some facts: “These Yuketen shoes are made from ethically sourced,  full grain black leather and leopard print pony hair. They fasten with a thick,  brown leather lace that passes through four metal eyelets and the moccasin toe is hand-stitched. The upper is sewn to a heavy,  black ‘Vibram’ wedge sole with sturdy treading,  and the shoes are fully lined with a natural coloured leather lining. The shoes also feature a hand-stitched leather insole embossed with the Yuketen logo.” i do not know if i like these mocs. without fail the shoes are eye catching, but i prefer the classic YUKETEN styles. paying 410 € this unique moc will be yours. pics | LN-CC

BLENDS vs. RED WING SHOES | A COLLABORATION

150 pairs were produced and the boot got released last saturday the 10th @ all BLEND locations, west coast, usa. for this project TAK KATO, BLENDS CD, picked the CLASSIC 6″ ROUND TOE boots “to make them more casual. he chose to utilize a suede upper, a concept that has never been used on the 6” boots in the USA before. he used tonal stitches to keep the boots simple and reflect a more casual look. simplicity and minimalism are a key aspect of BLENDS design concept. In addition, he added the DNA of the classic Irish Setter sports boots by adding hooks at the top as opposed to eyelets all the way up. We set out to create a boot that works well for everybody, something that would match with a variety of styles from Americana to military, from workwear to biker. very nice look; i like the black suede leather. more information @ that bad working site: blendsus.com. pics | BLENDS
