ACTION PACKED RED WING SHOES ILLUSTRATIONS

When doing my daily blog, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook check up, I found these so nice illustrations at the Twitter account of @OreNo2Che from Japan. As you know I am a great comic fan – what a perfect combination this Red Wing boots inspired Manga drawings. I like the way the iconic RWS styles PECOS, HUNTSMAN, 877, LOGGER and ENGINEER are drawn. Since days I try to find the source of the pics – no chance. It would be great to see the whole pictures, the complete format and not only clippings. It seems to be a RED WING SHOES release week. Guys, the next new styles arrived at the stores: the COOPER, available in “AMBER HARNESS | #2954” and “BLACK HARNESS | #2964“. The classic design of the iconic RWS styles #875 and #877, which were popular in the past among sport and hunting enthusiasts, later construction workers, with that nowadays so beloved Cushion Crepe Sole, fueled the development of RED WING SHOES new COOPER collection. Okay – the COOPER – named for the woodworkers, who build barrels and casks. THE TIMEX x RED WING SHOES COLLABORATION | JUST A FEW LIMITED WATCHES AVAILABLE

Originally these TIMEX x RED WING SHOES COLLABORATION WATCHES were just sold in Japan. Online in Europe just @ endclothing but right now RED WING SHOE STORE FRANKFURT got a strictly limited supply. You can buy the watches online – the only dealer in Germany – or directly in the store. The collaboration watch is available in three styles and sizes: 38 mm, 40 mm and a 42 mm Chrono. Each watch features vintage-inspired dials, stainless steel casing, is up to 50 meters water resistant, INDIGLO@ Night Light and Quick Date®. But the icing on the cake is that each watch is outfitted with an awesome premium leather strap supplied by the master tanners at RED WING SHOES – handcrafted for sure! I don’t know exactly what leather color the strap has. It is similar to the famous Oro-Legacy (oil tanned) former known as Oro-iginal but a little bit darker, no more colorful. This leather is used for the icons #875 Moc Toe and #877 Irish Setter. The watches come in a very nice designed box. ABOUT A MOLE CALLED “GRABOWSKI”, AN IRISH SETTER BOOT AND A HAPPY END

got this vintage children’s book from my copywriter PETER Z. to take a look at it. it is from 1972 and it is really amazing that one of the illustrated workers is wearing a perfect rugged outfit. really funny. the story that isn’t everything but funny is about a mole who’s name is GRABOWSKI. there was the plan to build up a high-rise building estate. when the workers began their work the catastrophe for the mole began. the machines and the workers attacked and tried to catch him. terrible and really thrilling drawn and written. but the story comes to a happy end: the mole GRABOWSKI escaped and found a meadow like a paradies. the story is more than 40 years ol, it is from the time when the people began thinking over their environment and to save nature. pics | LTG || Der Maulwurf Grabowski by Luis Murschetz

RED WING SHOES | THE 9877 IRISH SETTER vs THE 877

i am really happy to get one of 60 pairs that came strictly limited to europe, because this boot is an absolut must-have-collector-item. the boot is only available @ RED WING STORES. thx KAY from RW STORE BERLING & HAMBURG for reserving the boot. the 9877 was previously sold in JAPAN beside some other styles in that beautiful color: SEQUOIA GOLD. i did a post in october 2011: BOOT OF THE DAY | #91 | LIMITED RED WING BOOT 9871. the 9877 features some details of the first IRISH SETTER production in 1952. so the SEQUOIA colored leather is the original one followed by the famous oro-iginal. only at the top of right boot there are stamped RED WING letters: no corporate wing logo on the boot except the sole which is exactly the same on both boots. inside the 9877 there is the old version of the IRISH SETTER tag – beautiful! boot and RED WING SHOE experts sure will notice the square stitched corners where the leather is fixed to the tongue – an outstanding detail. the boot comes with heavy leather laces and in a wonderful IRISH SETTER labeled box. by the way, the 877 has on another very nice detail: on every eyelet the letters RED WING are engraved. the 877 will leave my collection. my friend PZ will adopt this really nice walked in boot. so i know these boots will be in good hands … pics | LTG

FALSE TONGUES ON RED WING SHOES & BOOTS

i know that not all work boot maniacs and RED WING lovers like FALSE TONGUES. and for some guys here in europe these piece of leather is or was totally unknown. 2 weeks ago i saw an upcoming RED WING BOOT from the HERITAGE COLLECTION with a FALSE TONGUE or how some people say with KlLTYs: the LINEMAN #2906. i think this style will be delivered with false tongues. i like this special work boot style for a longer time owning some WHITE’S BOOTS which came with false tongues. you can’t imagine how many guys asked me for this piece of leather the last years. most said: oh, these arefalse tongues? ah. no, i don’t like. last tuesday i got some false tongues from FRED c/o redwing1905.blog as a present. today i checked on which boots or shoes they would fit. but i did not put it into the laces, it was just a check. and i like it a lot! thanks FRED and thanks for the nice vintage box. and i am sure that there will be more and more guys like them too in the nearer future. pics | LTG and FRED
