THE BARACUTA BOW TIE | XMAS PRESENT BY KLAUS VOLL c/o VOLLS.DE

yesterday after i finished my weekend run i entered on my way home volls.de to wish KLAUS and his staff IKRAM and BURCU a merry christmas. it was a bit funny, because they looked at me if i was an alien between all the well dressed clients in there. i was sweating so much and wearing my running clothes over all my beloved silver shining NIKE vest. KLAUS gave me the bow tie below as a gift and i was really surprised and happy about this special bow tie. i love bow ties … and KLAUS, as i told you, i will wear it on christmas evening. great stuff: i like the different patterns of the bow tie and the strap – really nice! OLLI THE BARBER | KING OLLI x THE PEACOCKS

i know OLLI THE BARBER, i think since summer 2000. i met him on a barbecue when KLAUS from volls.de was celebrating his move to a wonderful old building apartment over the rooftops of darmstadt, germany. from now on i went to OLLI to cut my hair and from 2004 till 2005 OLLI was the singer of a band project named ARMSTRONG where i played the drums. i just checked some photos from our last gig in april 2005 – damn, this is nearly 8 years ago. now OLLI plays upright bass and sings in a band named KING OLLI with 2 other ollis. this is not a joke: the drummer, the guitar player and the bass player have all the same name: OLLI … what a fluke! they call their style of music country’n’blues’n’punk’n’roll. next saturday they will play a gig and share the stage with famous THE PEACOCKS from switzerland. the concert will be at SAALBAU KINO in pfungstadt near darmstadt. just a few tickets are left. i got one ;-)))) pics | LTG, THomas Goos, The Peacocks

ROCKY MOUNTAIN FEATHERBED @ VOLLS.DE

last week KLAUS got his ROCKY MOUNTAIN FEATHERBED order. for years i wanted to check up this stuff but i did not know a dealer in germany to take a look at. now i know one! and i must tell you the vests and parkas are how i like to say “grosses kino!”. i love the classic look, especially the leather western yokes at each vest on the shoulder part. my absolute favorite is the black CHRISTY VEST but also take a look at the other pieces below: awesome color combinations and materials. all vests have a shearling lined leather collar, special made NYLON TAFFETA for a crispy touch, white goose down blended with feather for best volume and heat insulation, double action handwarmer pockets with a zipped interior pocket. made in japan. great detail: the western pearl snaps of the black and the antique denim vest. pics | LTG & volls.de

RED WING SHOES # 101 POSTMAN

2 days ago i posted that KLAUS from volls.de has had a surprise for me: it was a present. a special present: the iconic # 101 from RED WING SHOES – the POSTMAN. it took me a long time to think about the fact if i like the shoe or not. i always asked me if i should give it a try. now KLAUS did the decision for me and i must tell you this classic shoe is an absolute must have for RED WING lovers. it looks great at the feet, is mega comfortable and full of heritage. thanks again KLAUS. i got my # 101 as a thx from KLAUS for our good teamwork and my support in marketing and design for volls.de. we did a lot the last time and i think our little team works perfect. i am curios about our next projects and exciting about the new designed packages. hope they will arrive soon! pics | LTG

LTG FAVORITES #74 | THE MERZ B. SCHWANEN SWEATER #343

today i went to KLAUS @ volls.de just for a visit. but it is always the same on these fridays. after a hard working week, having about one hour to hang around @ volls it is so difficult not to buy something in this relaxed good mood. this day it took the MERZ B SCHWANEN sweater with the eskimo vintage print “ESKIMO QUALITÄT” with me. what a wonderful germany made piece of 100% cotton, rib trinagle insert on front and back and triangle inserts under the sleeve in a clasic greymelange. awesome like all the MERZ B. SCHWANEN stuff. all styles, shirts and long sleeves, are so well done and you feel the love to the product PETER and DIRK take to their collections. pics | LTG

great to see volls.de in german GQ STYLE F/W 12/13. i did the ad in collaboration with FRED from redwing1905 blog and i think the result is a nice one. LTG VISITING KLAUS @ VOLLS.DE | A FRIDAY TRADITION

yesterday i did the same i always try to do on a friday afternoons: just for one hour, if i have the opportunity, gladly for more than just one fucking hour i visit my buddy KLAUS @ volls.de talking about the important things the last week happened and discussing the new stuff that came in. so it happened yesterday. there was a bit more than one hour but there was no time to talk because of the high customer frequence. maybe i should plan my visits for friday mornings at 08:00 am. but i could take a look at the new NIGEL CABOURN collection KLAUS ordered and some other nice stuff like the new BIRKENSTOCK “ BOSTON”, some new RED WING BOOTS. the IRON RANGER BROGUES, the #8196 and the 2940 arrived! and i must tell you that the BOSTONS are really great. myself i won tow pairs since a long time and they look pretty cool with some rugged denim and shirts. so i saw them BRETT VIBERG wearing and the guys from MERZ B. SCHWANEN @ BREAD & BUTTER this summer. a really cool and comfortable alternative to “un-booty” days. i think KLAUS will launch his online shop soon. pics | LTG

UNIVERSAL WORKS @ VOLLS.DE

damn, a lot of work since i am back from spain finished my holidays. no time for the family, no time to visit my friends, no time for a cruise through the city, no time to talk to buddies, no time for nothing … my rare free time i just spent for running to get my head free for managing daily work! okay, friday afternoon i had some time to visit my buddy KLAUS @ volls.de. chaos! the shop was full – full of people AND full of a lot of new F/W stuff. there was no time to talk to KLAUS or his staff. so i just asked for some news to take some photos for LTG and KLAUS gave me the UNIVERSAL WORKS stuff which just came in on thursday. F***! amazing! i just own one piece from UW but i know all the last collections by the web very well and i like it so much. but seeing and touching KLAUS’ order by real was great. i took some fast and simple shots of vests, jackets and shirts to show you. i love this simple style and the materials the stuff is made of – the brand name is program: UNIVERSAL WORKS! details will follow later. stay tuned! pics | LTG

REDWING1905 x LIFE TIME GEAR | FRED x ERIC

some days ago i got a letter from the USA. hm, who should write me a letter from the states? indianapolis stamps? ahhhh, it was from my friend FRED who did a business trip to RW minnesota, chicago, boston … it’s so nice getting “real” handwritten post. i must always emphasize again and again – nowadays uncommon, nearly old school. he sent me greetings from TRURO, CAPE COD where great american artist EDWARD HOPPER has had his summer studio house on STEVENS WAY – beautiful location. FRED wrote me that he will bring a souvenir for me to germany. yesterday KLAUS from volls.de brought me a wonderful CHICAGO COFFEE CUP from INTELLIGENTSIA “fresh roasted coffee” which FRED gave him last week when he visited volls.de. i got the cup because of the STARS on it. i love stars! look at the LIFE TIME GEAR sign above. thank you so much FRED. the cup is in use! pics | LTG

YUKETEN & ALDEN | @ VOLLS.DE

last friday between OLLI THE BARBER and another photo shooting i went to KLAUS to pick up a rain jacket that works from ARC’TERYX VEILANCE. so i just could take some impressions of the new ALDEN & YUKETEN stuff KLAUS got a day before. the complete stuff is really awesome from the mocs over the main guide boots, the blucher and indie styles over to the leather bags. it will took some time to bring the stuff to the online shop, KLAUS said because today the order marathon starts for him with the PITTI UOMO at FIRENCE, italy. if you can’t wait for the stuff to order online, contact him and his staff at volls.de. bad pics | LTG
