wow, colorful: a classic WHITE’S SMOKEJUMPER in bright chrome excel navy leather combined with my favorite VIBRAM SOLE #2021. so this type of boot is called NORTHWEST. very nice – lace-to-toe, nickel hardware with yellow brown laces, of course made in the USA. the look is so unusual but fascinating at the same time for me. found at VECK, japan. the price is nearly 100,000 yen. pics | VECK
this WHITE’S BOOTS is a hybrid of a SMOKEJUMPER and a SEMI DRESS boot for me. i love this old style work boot look – so classic! this boot is much lighter than the classic 8″ SMOKEJUMPER and very comfortable to wear everyday, the whole day. this boot was a great deal for less money compared to the normal prices you have to pay for a WHITE’S. bought this boot brand new at eBay for less than 200 US$. for sure it is hand lasted in SPOKAN, WA, USA. an uncomplicated, very comfortable, simple and honest boot for life – one of my absolute favorite pieces!

i think this boot is one of the most exciting work boots i own: 2 colored with a touch of the 30s and 40s but so strong and heavy for what WHITE’S BOOTS are known for. but at the same time so smooth because of the used leathers. the color combination of smooth light brown water buffalo and dark brown french calf is so beautiful and extraordinary. my feet never, really never, get hurt by a WHITE’S BOOT when wearing the first times. i remember me ordering the first time a WHITE’S and i just ordered the size i knew from other work boots i wore at this time and the choice was perfect. often i read that WHITE’S fit larger – i can’t say that. i have absolutely the same size in WHITE’S as in f.ex. RWS, DANNER, YUKETEN and ALDEN boots. but i must say WHITE’S are the most comfortable ones, but at the same time weighing most.

saturday evening was great: at first PETER and me visited UWE c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION at his office in frankfurt/main, germany, and after that we all joined together the LAMBCHOP concert. first of all the concert was really nice, sometimes very low, but exciting by the same way. KURT WAGNER’s voice is catchy – you just have listen to! AWESOME. but the songs from their actual longplayer “MR. M”, dedicated to the band’s died friend VIC CHESSNUT, are so sad and you feel deep devotional. but before PETER and me discovered UWE’s mens playground: the AMTRAQ office. we could have stayed there for hours. the office interior is so tastefully. UWE was explaining his stuff, me i checked and tried one piece after another, pizza, beer, good music …just perfect! over all TELLASON denim and the DEHEN1920 stuff fascinated me most. great stuff! but don’t forget MAKR, TANNER GOODS, TOPO DESIGN and SPORTSWEAR REG.
