CUSTOMIZED ICONIC RED WING BOOT #877 MOC TOE

Customized iconic Red Wing #877. Found – where else – on a Japanese Twitter Account (MaH @MaH53137643). I like this kind of customizing with that fat soles and higher heels a lot. But beside soles and heels there is another fine custom thing that looks great and is very practical at these 8-inch Classic Moc: speed hooks! What a perfect #877 … pics | MaH @MaH53137643

RED WING SHOES | NEW RELEASE: COOPER MOC #2954 & #2964

It seems to be a RED WING SHOES release week. Guys, the next new styles arrived at the stores: the COOPER, available in “AMBER HARNESS | #2954” and “BLACK HARNESS | #2964“. The classic design of the iconic RWS styles #875 and #877, which were popular in the past among sport and hunting enthusiasts, later construction workers, with that nowadays so beloved Cushion Crepe Sole, fueled the development of RED WING SHOES new COOPER collection. Okay – the COOPER – named for the woodworkers, who build barrels and casks. Compared to the #875 the COOPER shows two elementary differences: a smart profiled Vibram® 430 Mini-lug sole and speed hooks. I like the look of these new 6 inch Moc Toe boots a lot, especially the black #2964. Check these USA made boots @ Red Wing Store Frankfurt in store or 24/7 online. And for sure these boots can be resoled @ Red Wing Store Frankfurt! pics | Red Wing Heritage | blog.lostartpress.com

BOOT OF THE DAY | #182 | RED WING HERITAGE – NEW IRON RANGER STYLE “CHOCOLATE MULESKINNER” #4590

just some minutes ago these news reached me from RED WING HERITAGE europe. i must confess that i am not the greatest fan of the IRON RANGER. i like the look, but from the first time on i saw this boot i knew it will be something for the masses. i owned one that i sold after a short time to a good friend, seeing this boot too often. but i although must confess that this CHOCOLATE MULESKINNER is really mega nice. this is what RW HERITAGE says about the boot: “Red Wing Shoes’ popular Iron Ranger boots are inspired by the style Red Wing Shoes built in the early 20th century for miners working in the northern Minnesota Iron Range. Mining on the Iron Range was a dangerous job full of hazards and the brave workers who took these jobs required extra protection on their feet. To meet the demands of this type of work Red Wing Shoes designed a boot with a capped toe that was double layered with leather. The heel pocket an extra strip of leather that supports the heel inside the boot  was moved to the outside of the boot for added stability. These design changes provided a seamless boot interior and added durability to the exterior of the boot; necessities for workers on their feet all day in the harsh conditions of the mines. Five years ago this work-inspired design was successfully re-introduced as the Iron Ranger and quickly became a popular style for everyday dress. Now,  Red Wing Heritage is introducing a new version of the Iron Ranger built with rugged Chocolate Muleskinner leather. Named the 4590 this style’s unique roughout leather and classic design makes it a handsome addition to any outfit.” the boot will be available at european stores mid-september. pics | Red Wing Heritage Europe

LTG BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 23 | 06 WHITE’S BOOTS CLASSIC BULL HIDE SEMI DRESS

this was may first WHITE’S BOOT ever: a classic SEMI-DRESS. i built this boot for my own at BAKER SHOES in 2007. it was a bit strange and very exciting because the boot was really expensive compared to all my RED WINGs and i did not know anything about the fit. in 2007 ask some one for WHITE’S BOOTS in germany: nobody knew this great traditional boot maker from spokan, washington. time changed; the last 6 years brands like VIBERG, WESCO and WHITE’S became well known in europe. but boots of these labels are still expensive and not pushed by distribution. good to know, so they will never get a mainstream products. beside, the higher prices of these boots are okay indeed. if you ever wear a WHITE’S you will feel the price of it: made of heavy and best leathers, solid and lifetime built, most comfortable – this is what i call LIFE TIME GEAR! in germany you get WHITE’S BOOTS at the BOOTERY at VATER&SOHN in hamburg, germany. pics | LTG

what a great find at JAM-ING TRADING, japan this vintage lace up RED WING SERVICE BOOT. this smart looking boot from the 60s – 70s is steel toed and has an neoprene sole and heel with an upper split of suede cowhide. the boot must be really rare – i’ve never seen it before. pics | JAM-ING TRADING

BOOT OF THE DAY | #165 | VINTAGE RED WING SHOES #1945 ERIC CLAPTON CLASSICS WITH BLACK RUBBER TOES

damn, this is really heavy stuff: someone put black rubber on the toes of a rare classic ERIC CLAPTON RED WING BOOT style 1945. i’m always in extraordinary stuff, but this is even to heavy for me. never saw such a ”dirty nose” of a RED WING boot before and i don’t like this. it is done to protect the toes of getting wet; a sort of old school goretex® – waterproof rubber. this boot is actually on ebay now. if you like a pair of boots on which everybody will staring at and ask you why you have painted your boot toes with rubber, it is a must-have for you. apart from the rubber noses the boot is in a really good condition. pics | ebay name joeymest
