LTG FAVORITES #82 | RED WING SHOES WITH A SUPERSOLE®

KAMI from RED WING STORE FRANKFURT made me a big surprise! some months ago i asked him for an # 8118, because i am a great fan of the called FRANKFURTER RWS boots. they are and were made in three different colors and two leathers. i know that KAMI has an archive in his basement with some old worn and dead stock RWS – so, why not asking? he told me, that maybe there is one but he couldn’t promise. three weeks ago i helped KAMI in layouting an advertisement over night for his distribution firm. when i saw him the next time, it was at an event in the context of the MTV EUROPEAN AWARDS at B74, he took me aside and told me about a surprise for me. holy shit – he gave me an #8118. i was speakless because i know that the boot isn’t available anymore and i forgot asking him for the boot at this moment. the one he gave me is a vintage one, a return because of a small defect of the SUPERSOLE. KAMI and his staff restored the boot and it looks really really good. what a great piece. KAMI thank you so much again! a something special memory to your person – indeed. pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #150 | YUKETEN PLAIN TOE UTILITY BOOTS

volls.de got a new delivery from YUKETEN. some new boots and very nice bags. there is a new boot i never saw before: the PLAIN TOE UTILITY BOOT in moss suede with a white contrast heel cap. a great color combination which is completed by one of my favorite VIBRAM soles: the # 2021 in grey brown. beside the suede version of this UTILITY BOOT there is another boot in a chestnut brown smooth leather also with the #2021 sole. this boot looks a bit smarter and classic. pics | volls.de

THE 10ENGINES TRUCKER CAP

this afternoon my 10ENGINES cap arrived. a great piece direct send from JAMES FOX who runs one of the best blogs ever: 10engines.blogspot . long before i did my first blog entry on LIFE TIME GEAR i checked up this blog every day … till now. thx JAMES for inspiration. the cap is a product of a collaboration between 10ENGINES and BALL AND BUCK®  with a double canvas front panel and an 8oz original BALL AND BUCK camo lined brim. OLLI THE BARBER | KING OLLI x THE PEACOCKS

i know OLLI THE BARBER, i think since summer 2000. i met him on a barbecue when KLAUS from volls.de was celebrating his move to a wonderful old building apartment over the rooftops of darmstadt, germany. from now on i went to OLLI to cut my hair and from 2004 till 2005 OLLI was the singer of a band project named ARMSTRONG where i played the drums. i just checked some photos from our last gig in april 2005 – damn, this is nearly 8 years ago. now OLLI plays upright bass and sings in a band named KING OLLI with 2 other ollis. this is not a joke: the drummer, the guitar player and the bass player have all the same name: OLLI … what a fluke! they call their style of music country’n’blues’n’punk’n’roll. next saturday they will play a gig and share the stage with famous THE PEACOCKS from switzerland. the concert will be at SAALBAU KINO in pfungstadt near darmstadt. just a few tickets are left. i got one ;-)))) pics | LTG, THomas Goos, The Peacocks

BOOT OF THE DAY | #149 | ALDEN X LEFFOT SADDLE SHOE

okay, this is not a boot, but a classic wonderful looking SADDLE SHOE. with a nice color combination which is named black alpine/whiskey. the shoe is made of an alpine/cordovan leather and has a natural plantation crepe sole. this ALDEN x LEFFOT collaboration shoe is completely awesome. the price is unfortunately extraordinary similar to the look. pics | LEFFOT

LTG FAVORITES #81 | COFFEE & ESPRESSO CUPS

everyday i consume masses of espresso and coffee. from the morning to the noon milk coffee and cappuccinos and in the afternoon lots of espresso. so i have some favorite cups. as an exotic western boot lover i mostly like my vintage ZEITLER SNAKE EXOTIC espresso cups, i think meanwhile they are about 15 years old. and below there are just 3 sets of 6! the MUSTACHE CUPS by PETER IBRUEGGER are great too and really funny seeing others using them. check PETER’s site, there are more ideas about mustache cups and glasses. the massive CHICAGO cup is also awesome – it was a souvenir from FRED c/o redwing.1905.blog. pics | LTG | Peter Ibruegger

ROCKY MOUNTAIN FEATHERBED @ VOLLS.DE

last week KLAUS got his ROCKY MOUNTAIN FEATHERBED order. for years i wanted to check up this stuff but i did not know a dealer in germany to take a look at. now i know one! and i must tell you the vests and parkas are how i like to say “grosses kino!”. i love the classic look, especially the leather western yokes at each vest on the shoulder part. my absolute favorite is the black CHRISTY VEST but also take a look at the other pieces below: awesome color combinations and materials. all vests have a shearling lined leather collar, special made NYLON TAFFETA for a crispy touch, white goose down blended with feather for best volume and heat insulation, double action handwarmer pockets with a zipped interior pocket. made in japan. great detail: the western pearl snaps of the black and the antique denim vest. pics | LTG & volls.de

these are really great pieces for daily use. nice to have the BOTTLEHOOKS® from CORTER LEATHER AND CLOTH in 3 different colors to choose best fit for each use. the copper colored for the brown RED MOON long-wallet and the brown leather chain and the black one for the black wallet and leather chain. the aged pewter one for anything else. each BOTTLEHOOK® has a natural hand-stamped leather tab for writing down infos in case it’s left somewhere. made in USA. perfect handling at your belt loop. and till now, damn is this nice, you can get a limited forest and desert camouflage version. pics | LTG and the camou one by CORTER

one of my oldest and most beloved styles from RED WING SHOES: the # 8131. i think this boot is about 15 years old, maybe older. i bought it once at RED WING STORE frankfurt, but i can’t remember if KAMI was in there or the ugly american pre-owner – insider know whom i am talking about … there is no sign on the label and the marks on the tongues are not readable anymore. as you know the oro-russet is my absolute RWS color. awesome. pics | LTG
