RED WING HERITAGE ICONIC STYLE #8131 | VINTAGE versus NEW

One of my absolute Red Wing favorites is the iconic Moc Toe style #8131. Before handing out my brother his new oro-russet Moc Toe, I had to take some shots – I like the contrast so much. Maybe you wanna check out the “vintage versus new” photos. My rugged boot is from the 90s and when you check the pictures you can’t find many differences compared to the actual #8131. Obviously there is an embossed Red Wing Shoes logo on the outsides of the vintage #8131, while the new boot features the characteristic label at the tongue with a lot of information about the boot. All Red Wing Boots and Shoes have this label since years. The inseams of the heels are a bit different. That’s all. Never change a working system or a good working product! RED WING SHOES | JAPAN LIMITED CANOE MOC WORK BOOT #9850 / #9851

what a found … did you hear about this japan limited RWS 6 inch boot? sorry, me not. you like? i do not know – but i think, i like the hybrid between the classic RWS moc toe and a canoe or boat shoe. the boots are available in the wonderful GOLD RUSSET SEQUOIA and ORO RUSSET. they show the classic 50s IRISH SETTER label and come in the retro box from this time. pics | THREEWOOD + FOOT TIME

one of my oldest and most beloved styles from RED WING SHOES: the # 8131. i think this boot is about 15 years old, maybe older. i bought it once at RED WING STORE frankfurt, but i can’t remember if KAMI was in there or the ugly american pre-owner – insider know whom i am talking about … there is no sign on the label and the marks on the tongues are not readable anymore. as you know the oro-russet is my absolute RWS color. awesome. pics | LTG

RED WING SHOES GO GERMAN TV | “TATORT” COP WEARS 8131

“TATORT” is cult in germany. since decades every sunday at 20:15 after TAGESSCHAU a new episode of this crime TV series is coming up. only in summer there is a break and ARD shows us replays from the last years. last sunday this break was over and they showed us the second episode with commissars FLÜCKIGER alias STEFAN GUBSER and LIZ RITSCHARD alias DELIA MAYER. today 20 – yes, TWENTY – different cops and teams clear up every sunday in 20 different locations and cities criminal cases. but no one of them was wearing RED WINGS before. cop FLÜCKIGER does it last sunday. a brand new #8131. it was unusual but cool to see these boots 90 minutes walking and running on the screen. i am really curios about the fact if the RED WINGS were chosen by STEFAN GUBSER himself or his film team. you can watch the complete TATORT “HANDLAGE MIT AUSSICHT” with FLÜCKINGER @ www.daserste.de. below you can see my vintage 8131

my buddy FRED from RW1905 blog send me some pics of an actual cut RWS style #8131 – the cut of the 875 seems to be a bit older – sorry for that! he told me that the actual models are filled with CORK between insole and the traction tred cushion crepe wedge sole. before, this space was filled with synthetic material: compare the pics. thx. pics | FRED c/o RW1905

BLUNDSTONE | RUGGED KIDS BOOTS

my son needed 3/4 year to rug down this 2 pairs of really robust BLUNDSTONE boots. they look
great but now they are already finished and to small, too. i just can advise these boots if you have a kid
who likes playin’ in the dirt, driving bobby car like SEBASTIAN VETTEL, jump up the hills with his bike
running through small rivers trying to catch a fish or a frog, hiking, running equal it is raining or dusty.
believe me those BLUNDSTONEs are the best! these are style 530 KIDS in chestnut brown. the black
chelsea boots are my wife’s RED WING 2918 one of her favorite RWs. they are about 6 years old.
