RED WING SHOES NEWS | LAUNCH OF CAMOU MOC TOE #8884

When I heard about this release I was really surprised. The last years I was so proud to own a special CAMOU RED WING MOC TOE Style #8150 – please check my Blog post from January 2012. And the only other owners of this extra ordinary boot I know are Kami Hashemi himself, owner of RED WING STORE FRANKFURT, and Peter Heckman from HECKMAN STORE in Darmstadt, Germany. Okay, now there will be second edition of this special boot: the #8884. Again RED WING uses a MOSSY OAK® Camouflage pattern. The new #8884 comes with black/brown 41″ laces instead of the classic yellow tan laces my #8150 has had and the pattern is not so colorful, it is more brown, more autumnal with leaves that conjures the forests in autumn like the ones around Red Wing in southern Minnesota. Every boot will unique, because of showing other pattern details. The #8884 boot still sports the 6-inch triple-stitched leather upper, Traction Tred rubber outsole and Goodyear welt construction. I am really excited how this Camouflage boot will be accepted by the RED WING aficionados – thrilling. I love this design still for sure, but I am just a bit disappointed that my #8150 is not anymore something outstanding ;-). SOCKS THAT DON’T SUCK | ANONYMOUS ISM

Guys, it’s getting winter here in middle Germany. No more Oxfords without socks. Time to sock up with socks that don’t suck. Beside my Red Wing Shoes socks and CHUPS I always wear in all my boots from Alden over Rocky Heritage Boots to White’s these four pairs of ANONYMOUS ISM are the first I’ll try. The Anchor Socks are not really made for extreme cold conditions but perfect for fall. The camouflage ones are really thick and warm – and so cozy! The unique socks of ANONYMOUS ISM are woven on looms from the 1970s in a Japanese manufacture. Made from natural materials and thick yarns the socks are produced in distinct colors and peerless patterns. By built of the looms and use of quality yarns the efficiency of the machinery is limited to less than 50 pairs of these thick and durable socks per day! Okay … whatever, I love the designs. BOOT OF THE DAY | #191 | DANNER x BALL AND BUCK LIGHT BOOT

as a frequently reader of my blog you must know that i am a great fan of the classic DANNER LIGHT BOOT. i own one pair that i mostly wear for the activity this boot was rather made for: hiking. but sometimes i take my DANNERs to the city or somewhere else because of the great comfort and the heritage and iconic look. today i found this wonderful boot which is done in a collaboration between DANNER and great BALL AND BUCK. this means 1000% americana! this DANNER LIGHT uses a special leather that’s saturated with oils and wax. i love the 10oz camouflage flanks so much and the subtle blaze orange heel stitching. 10 MUST-HAVE-X-MAS-PRESENTS | #04 | HANDMADE CROCHETED BOW TIES BY MONSIEUR BOJANGLES

that’s what social media is good for: i met ROY VAN CREIJ at facebook. and some day i saw these handmade crocheted bow ties that he posted. for me as a bow tie lover an absolute must-have. yesterday i got a letter from the netherlands with these two really nice looking and well done pieces for a nice price. it is easy to fit the ties with the two buttons in the back. i think the orange one has to be ordered too! isn’t that a wonderful gift for christmas? beside the bow ties ROY offers different sorts of bracelets at the MONSIEUR BOJANGLES etsy store. pics | LTG

HANDCRAFTED BAG #214 BY ATELIER DE L’ARMÉE

some weeks ago i got this BAG214 from ATELIER DE L’ARMÉE. it is wonderful, so practical. just one zip and you get to all the things you carry with you. as a business bag i prefer my FILSON PADDED COMPUTER BAG, but for city trips or just visiting a friend it is not so practical, too heavy, to big. the 214 has a lot of features. outside it is made of deadstock cowhide leather and dutch army woodland camouflage battleshirt fabric. one bag inside is made of japanese selvage denim, an iphone bag is made of cowhide leather and the lining is made of dutch army thermo pant and rain poncho. the handles and the strap are made of swiss army rifle slings. these must be really vintage: the smell strong. but it gets better from week to week. the tote bag is completely made by hand in amsterdam, netherlands, and can be made to order. it takes about 4 to 6 weeks between purchase and delivery. take a look @ the video where you will meet ELZA WANDLER and JOOST DOESWIJK who are ATELIER DE L’ARMÉE. pics | LTG || vid | ATELIER DE L’ARMÉE

LTG FAVORITES #88 | NIGEL CABOURN AGAIN: SS 2013 COLLECTION @ VOLLS.DE

just a short break from this work all day long for weeks. KLAUS – long time no see, nice to meet him yesterday morning in his shop. i knew that parts of the actual SS2013 NIGEL CABOURN collection arrived last friday. the next days will be still busy and so i decided to ride my BULLIT to schulstrasse to talk a bit to KLAUS, drink some espresso and take a look at the new NC stuff. damn: so amazing nice this f***ing camo stuff. beside this, the new TAPED CAMERAMAN and AIRCRAFT JACKET and the denim vest are really very well done too. there are some more shirts i will post later when all stuff arrived. my absolute favorites at the moment: the CAMO NOTCH WORK JACKET combined with the CAMO WORK VEST made of camo drill. detailed information later. the stuff will be online @ volls.de in about 14 days, but one camo work jacket and a vest in size 52 are missing … pics | LTG
