LTG MOUNTAIN BIKING | WASSERKUPPE, RHOEN

yesterday i did my first post about mountain biking in fulda this weekend. my brother in law HANS and me did just a short tour on friday because of really bad weather conditions. today it was a sensation with the weather: blue skies and no rain; a bit stormy near WASSERKUPPE, RHOEN – just perfect. we drove an old train track straight from FULDA to WASSERKUPPE. really amazing: a long tunnel through complete MILSEBURG just for biker with a lot bats. the tour was really hard for me because this was just my fourth MTB tour after getting out the metal of my shoulder this april. so we made 96 km and for me unbelievable 1.800 meters difference in altitude. and now: so tired … pics | LTG

LTG MOUNTAIN BIKING AROUND FULDA, GERMANY

today i did a day off and went to fulda, germany, my city of birth where my parents and my brother live. i met my brother-in-law HANS there to go mountain biking the next three days. today we did our first trip fulda river upwards through the mountains of vogelsberg. it was rainy, cold, muddy but it was so great in the autumn forest! i got some new stuff from ASSOS last week but i did not use it because i was afraid of getting the new stuff too dirty. hm. but what a fun, HANS wore an old school ASSOS RUBY JACKET which back i designed 12 years ago with a big print. nostalgic look but the ASSOS jacket is still working – no wonder, best quality ever in bike clothes. today we did 65 kilometers. it was heavy for me because of the weather conditions and the bad muddy forest ways. running is really another thing. tomorrow we’ll go by MTB from fulda to WASSERKUPPE the highest mountain in RHOEN with 950 meters. i think i will go to bed early this evening. pics |  LTG

damn, it’s getting colder and colder in middle germany. time to get my NC x EB vest out of the cupboard. sold all my other vests to afford this f***ing expensive piece. so just 2 vests are left – the best i ever had: 2 CANADIAN OVERVESTS. the woolen checkerd one isn’t available anymore! i like this. the camo one is actually available @ volls.de. beside you’ll find there a lot of information about the CANADIAN OVERVEST and two colors more. pics | LTG

LTG FAVORITES #74 | THE MERZ B. SCHWANEN SWEATER #343

today i went to KLAUS @ volls.de just for a visit. but it is always the same on these fridays. after a hard working week, having about one hour to hang around @ volls it is so difficult not to buy something in this relaxed good mood. this day it took the MERZ B SCHWANEN sweater with the eskimo vintage print “ESKIMO QUALITÄT” with me. what a wonderful germany made piece of 100% cotton, rib trinagle insert on front and back and triangle inserts under the sleeve in a clasic greymelange. awesome like all the MERZ B. SCHWANEN stuff. all styles, shirts and long sleeves, are so well done and you feel the love to the product PETER and DIRK take to their collections. pics | LTG

NEIL ARMSTRONGS 1967 CORVETTE

america’s first astronauts all drove corvette. i did not know that but it is very interesting. on the JALOPNIK you can find more informations about this. only a handful of documented APOLLO-era-astronaut-owned “VETTES” survive. the most original is the 1967 CORVETTE once owned by NEIL ARMSTRONG. a new initiative will restore the car to the condition when ARMSTRONG drove it. check HEMMINGS DAILY for the details of this wonderful big block. pics | Roger Kallins

BOOT OF THE DAY | #143 | RED WING SHOES X BEAMS SUPERSOLE BOOTS

damn, these # 8803 are really awesome. i am a great fan of RWS’ so called “FRANKFURTER” with the famous black SUPERSOLE®; my first RED WING boot ever was a # 8804 i still own. so it is for sure that a black # 8133 has found its way to my boot closet too. since a while i am searching for the beige rough out # 8118 in 9.5D. yesterday my buddy and copywriter PETER told me about a dark grey rough out “FRANKFURTER” he found on a blog site. he told me that this boot would be a result from a collaboration between japanese BEAMS and RWS. so i took a look today at the BEAMS site. and wow, there is not only a dark grey one but another black rough suede too with style number # 8805. what a luck, both are sold out. pics | BEAMS
