THE CULT RELEASED NEW VIDEO HONEY FROM A KNIFE

this is what THE CULT says about the video: Shot in New York City by Rick Rogers (Prelude To Ruins) in a highly cinematic style, lead singer Ian Astbury says the new clip reveals a “desperate descent into a fractured psyche,” and the “Honey From A Knife” song title was inspired by the Buddhist precept:, “Wealth and beauty, to a man who will not relinquish them, are like a knife covered with honey which, even before he has had the pleasure of eating the honey, cuts the tongue of the child that licks it”

the song is from the actual album CHOICE OF WEAPON. it is okay but for me not the best song of THE CULT and this album. but hearing and watching the video i enjoy it. below a live version of this song.

LTG BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 16 | RARE RED WING SHOES STYLE 1912 BECKMAN

this boot has a crazy story. i bought it in 2006 at RED WING SHOE STORE FRANKFURT. i saw this oro-russet BECKMAN and it was an absolute must-have. i knew this style just in the colors dark brown (the centennial – #1908), black, chestnut featherstone and black cherry featherstone. in 2011 i sold it to my buddy PETER because of an exploding boot closet … WHAT A MISTAKE. always when i saw PETER wearing this boot i got crazy. so i bought it back. since this day i wore my beloved 1912 just 3 times to preserve it. there is no information about the #1912 in the web … nothing. yep, i think i own a really rare and so awesome RED WING BOOT – MY1912 MOC TOE. pics | LTG

LTG GOES HELLO KITTY | A PARCEL FROM JAPAN

NEKO send me a parcel with the last and actual FREE & EASY issues plus an interior and house F&E special. this time she packed all the stuff in mega pink paper. great! it’s not my style but i was so surprised when i got it from the DHL man. creative idea and funny: FREE & EASY magazines in flashy pink paper with lots of wonderful and colorful HELLO KITTY stamps – super! but the best. damn, NEKO, you made me really happy with this awesome scarf from the RUGGED FACTORY you send me as a gift with the mags. thank you so much! absolutely my taste. again: THANK YOU! and guys, if you need a reliable “personal shopper” in TOKYO email me and i will give you NEKO’s address. pics | LTG

LTG VISITING KLAUS @ VOLLS.DE | A FRIDAY TRADITION

yesterday i did the same i always try to do on a friday afternoons: just for one hour, if i have the opportunity, gladly for more than just one fucking hour i visit my buddy KLAUS @ volls.de talking about the important things the last week happened and discussing the new stuff that came in. so it happened yesterday. there was a bit more than one hour but there was no time to talk because of the high customer frequence. maybe i should plan my visits for friday mornings at 08:00 am. but i could take a look at the new NIGEL CABOURN collection KLAUS ordered and some other nice stuff like the new BIRKENSTOCK “ BOSTON”, some new RED WING BOOTS. the IRON RANGER BROGUES, the #8196 and the 2940 arrived! and i must tell you that the BOSTONS are really great. myself i won tow pairs since a long time and they look pretty cool with some rugged denim and shirts. so i saw them BRETT VIBERG wearing and the guys from MERZ B. SCHWANEN @ BREAD & BUTTER this summer. a really cool and comfortable alternative to “un-booty” days. i think KLAUS will launch his online shop soon. pics | LTG

FINISHED: LEVI’S & LIFE TIME GEAR’S BIPLANE SOPWITH CAMEL PROJECT

my son LEVI and me finished our next LEGO project: the SOPWITH CAMEL BIPLANE, a classic of aviation history, one of the most recognizable british single-seat biplanes. for us it was easy to stick the bricks and build it up compared to the V8 SUPERCAR from LEGO TECHNIC. the classic LEGOs are much easier in their complexity, but it was not so easy to put on all wires which have some real functions. the plane features a lot of details like a rotating propeller and engine cylinders, hinged tail rudder, functioning wing ailerons and tail flaps that can be controlled from the cockpit. it includes rare dark green, dark tan and metallic silver elements. the replica is 15″ long and a wingspan of over 19″. pics | LTG & theaircraft.net

RED WING SHOES GO GERMAN TV | “TATORT” COP WEARS 8131

“TATORT” is cult in germany. since decades every sunday at 20:15 after TAGESSCHAU a new episode of this crime TV series is coming up. only in summer there is a break and ARD shows us replays from the last years. last sunday this break was over and they showed us the second episode with commissars FLÜCKIGER alias STEFAN GUBSER and LIZ RITSCHARD alias DELIA MAYER. today 20 – yes, TWENTY – different cops and teams clear up every sunday in 20 different locations and cities criminal cases. but no one of them was wearing RED WINGS before. cop FLÜCKIGER does it last sunday. a brand new #8131. it was unusual but cool to see these boots 90 minutes walking and running on the screen. i am really curios about the fact if the RED WINGS were chosen by STEFAN GUBSER himself or his film team. you can watch the complete TATORT “HANDLAGE MIT AUSSICHT” with FLÜCKINGER @ www.daserste.de. below you can see my vintage 8131

LIFE TIME GEAR | FAVORITES #70 | BOW TIES

last weekend i got new stuff from my absolute bow tie dealer BEAU TIES LTD. OF VERMONT. two special pieces from BILL’S PRIVATE STOCK and one standard tie. great. all BEAU TIES LTD. stuff is made in the USA. i love bow ties and i hate ties. i am even not able to tie a knot and i own not one. and i never missed one till today. my bow tie collection is about 20 pieces most and i have two new favorites: the blue one with the skulls named “SPARROW” and the one with the sailing ships named “COMMODORE”. this afternoon i have a meeting and i do not know which one to wear … 3 hours are left … pics | LTG

LIFE TIME GEAR @ INKSIDE STUDIO GETTING A NEW TATTOO

yesterday evening i went to BASTI c/o INKSIDE studio to get some new tattoos in order to complete my sleeve on the right arm. i wanted DONAL DUCK to say POPEYE, GOOFY and MICKY hello – but there wasn’t enough space for the duck head. so i decided to get the CAPTAIN AMERICA logo inked – a good decision: BIG LIKE! and i got some stars in blue, red and white around. so it is getting forward, but my next date will be in january 2013. BASTI is damned busy! in the year 2000 i went the first time to BASTI to get a cowboy pin up inked. we will renovate this tattoo next year … pics | LTG
