LIFE TIME GEAR BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 13 | VINTAGE 2-TONE SEARS WORKBOOTS BY DAVID VARNER

this is the newest but one of the oldest pieces of my collection. and the absolute best is that i got this awesome and rare two-tone SEARS boots from the 70s as a present from LIFE TIME GEAR blog fan DAVID VARNER. he wrote me a mail that the boots were on their way to germany as present because they didn’t fit him and he thought i would be happy to get them: YES I AM!!! damn, what a surprise i was really touched by the kind words DAVID wrote me. he is a great boot lover too and has a huge collection of work and hiking boots – a portrait will follow soon. DAVID is a 40 year-old locomotive engineer – on the picture aboard AMTRAK’s 40TH ANNIVERSARY TRAIN – and a former mensa member. prior working for the railroad he was employed in another traditional blue-collar job (automotive assembly-line worker) where the only boots that mattered were RED WINGS. he was always been driven by quality, good-design, lasting craftsmanship and value. these are some of the things LIFE TIME GEAR speaks about! thanks agin DAVID. still unbelievable. and DAVID the fit is perfect and i think i won’t customize them. they are great as they are. pics | LTG

LIFE TIME GEAR JOINS BEER, BIKES & BURGERS @ BURG & SCHILD

after a long day @ BBB i went to BURG & SCHILDS “BEER, BIKES & BURGERS” party. it was a must go. the days before i went home straight after the BB show, got something to eat, did some posts … ready to sleep of – rien ne va plus. but joining BB&B party was a must. and it was really, really nice there despite the f***ing weather we had while standing in front of the shop. it was so heavy raining, stormy and  thundery this evening, that f.ex. KLAUS from volls.de couldn’t take of to frankfurt. he was sitting 4 hours at the airport. it’s a pitty that he couldn’t join the party with us. we all got so wet that at point even it doesn’t matter at all. the mood was perfect! i met a lot of wonderful people and some great contacts. for more pictures check the BURG & SCHILD site! pics | LIFE TIME GEAR

LONG JOHN STUFF | THE ANCHOR FOR SUCCESS IS WITH LIFE TIME GEAR

followers of BANDITBLOGGERS.com and LIFE TIME GEAR know that i missed WOUTER from LONG JOHN at BREAD & BUTTER, berlin – sad. but just 2 hours before i started the BBB trip last tuesday my order from LJ arrived. i didn’t open it, because i was to busy at this time. yesterday evening i did. it was not really surprising that i found really nice stuff in the box. the 2 shirts are made of high quality cotton and the anchor designs are great with perfect prints. i think WOUTER aka LONG JOHN does a great job and i am the opinion that this must be supported. check his great site especially the WORN-OUT PROJECTS link – i love it – and his webshop to get your personally “ANCHOR FOR SUCCESS”.

FILSON: WHY YOU NEED A WHEELED CARRY ON BAG WITH YOUR PADDED COMPUTER BAG | OR KAMI THINKS FOR COMFORT

BREAD & BUTTER SUMMER 2012 is over and it’s nice to be back home. from now on i will post on LIFE TIME GEAR again. but just for 1 1/2 weeks because i will make a 14 days break because of holidays in spain.

back to this post. it was so funny when i saw KAMI, owner of B-74 and RED WING STORE FRANKFURT, the first time putting his FILSON computer bag to the empty wheeled carry on bag. a great surprise, but on the one side so funny and on the other such a great idea. if you have your PADDED COMPUTER full loaded the bag will be really heavy weight. maybe it seems a bit luxurious and snotty but KAMI sells and distributes FILSON – questions? for sure, i was a little bit jealous about his comfortable way to transport the big computer bag because mine hurt on the shoulders all the long ways through the booths of BREAD & BUTTER. great innovation KAMI. i like it! pics | LTG

LIFE TIME GEAR @ BREAD & BUTTER, BERLIN, GERMANY

tomorrow i will go to B&B, berlin. for me is going to a fashion show not as usual as for most of the guys i will meet at the L.O.C.K. and FIRE DEPT. for me it’s something special, because i will not do a job when i join B&B. it is pure emotion and affinity to all these things i blog about. i am so happy that i could manage this trip to berlin. my job as an art director has to rest the next days and the scheduled jobs are delegated to my crew. in berlin i will join the blogger project BANDIT BLOGGERS. hm, nice logo isn’t it? i did it quickly last week … and i like it. but i do not finally know exactly what will happen. you will hear about it soon – for sure. it’s great to meet a lot of friends in berlin and exciting to see some new stuff. more from wednesday on. pics | B&B, berlin

FINISHED: LEVI’S & LIFE TIME GEAR’S VW BULLY T1 PROJECT

last weekend we finished the T1. we just needed about 6 hours altogether and my son LEVI and me had a lot of fun. this week we started our next LEGO project: the SPACE SHUTTLE. but we just built about 1 hour. the weather is too good to sit inside building big LEGO projects. our wish project would be a 1960 VW BEETLE – see below –, but this f***ing amazing thing costs about 500 euros. and this is damn much money for a LEGO kit. another project could be TOWER BRIDGE which is about 3.000 pieces, more than double the T1 has. i think we will wait till autumn for this giant LEGO building. we’ll see. pics | LTG, LEGO

LIFE TIME GEAR | FAVORITES #65 | EBBETS FIELD FLANNELS CAPS

i am always looking for cool hats & rare caps. caps especially with my initials E and J or L for LIFE TIME GEAR. now i found a cap @ the EBBETS FIELD FLANNELS website: an old 1946 NEWARK EAGLES ballcap. great stuff – yesterday the cap arrived – no customs yeah! last year i bought three other flannel caps from EBBETS FIELD @ superdenim without any letters or graphics – i love these simple style. they are my most worn caps. the caps are made in the USA in the best quality a cap could be made – absolutely perfect! EFF needed just 5 days to send me the cap from SEATTLE without any express order or extra money. it’s a must to check their very well done website. beside the caps they have great AUTHENTIC FLANNEL BASEBALL SHIRTS – one is nicer than the other. it is the same to the different kind of jackets. pics | LTG & Ebbets Field Flannels
