BOOT SHARING IN THE FAMILY | … OR SHARING THE PASSION FOR RED WING BOOTS

This is little Levi – my son –, the boy who did some nice Red Wing Shoes animation films for Red Wing Frankfurt, Germany, posted at the beginning of this year. Growing up seeing Red Wing Boots every day at his mum’s and my feet, it was just a question of time trying the first RWS boots on his own. “BOOT SHARING” is the magic word since some days at Levi’s home. What a luck, Mum’s #3375, the Red Wing Heritage Women’s version of iconic #875, fits so perfect. More light weight, with softer leather, a slender fitting than the #875 and a cushioned insole this boot is not only perfect for women’s feet but also for teens. But not only the women boots fit his feet perfect. The Red Wing #2918 Chelsea Ranger is his absolute favorite! Stepping through thick and thin, at school, in the yard, on dog walks, simply everywhere. And the best for Levi: no lacing – easy and speedy putting on and out. And this boot is aging so nice. So rugged, but you won’t get it broken down. Built to fit, built to last. Levi loves his nice “new” worn in Red Wing Boots from mum … while he is thinking about his next animation film where a Red Wing Boot will be the headliner. RED WING HERITAGE ICONIC STYLE #8131 | VINTAGE versus NEW

One of my absolute Red Wing favorites is the iconic Moc Toe style #8131. Before handing out my brother his new oro-russet Moc Toe, I had to take some shots – I like the contrast so much. Maybe you wanna check out the “vintage versus new” photos. My rugged boot is from the 90s and when you check the pictures you can’t find many differences compared to the actual #8131. Obviously there is an embossed Red Wing Shoes logo on the outsides of the vintage #8131, while the new boot features the characteristic label at the tongue with a lot of information about the boot. All Red Wing Boots and Shoes have this label since years. The inseams of the heels are a bit different. That’s all. Never change a working system or a good working product! RED WING SHOES NEWS | LAUNCH OF CAMOU MOC TOE #8884

When I heard about this release I was really surprised. The last years I was so proud to own a special CAMOU RED WING MOC TOE Style #8150 – please check my Blog post from January 2012. And the only other owners of this extra ordinary boot I know are Kami Hashemi himself, owner of RED WING STORE FRANKFURT, and Peter Heckman from HECKMAN STORE in Darmstadt, Germany. Okay, now there will be second edition of this special boot: the #8884. Again RED WING uses a MOSSY OAK® Camouflage pattern. The new #8884 comes with black/brown 41″ laces instead of the classic yellow tan laces my #8150 has had and the pattern is not so colorful, it is more brown, more autumnal with leaves that conjures the forests in autumn like the ones around Red Wing in southern Minnesota. Every boot will unique, because of showing other pattern details. The #8884 boot still sports the 6-inch triple-stitched leather upper, Traction Tred rubber outsole and Goodyear welt construction. I am really excited how this Camouflage boot will be accepted by the RED WING aficionados – thrilling. I love this design still for sure, but I am just a bit disappointed that my #8150 is not anymore something outstanding ;-). Yes, the “CORE” line is my favorite one! This line is what RED WING means to me, also for women: a perfect adaption of men’s classics for women’s feet. Iconic styles like the Moc Toe #875, the Iron Ranger #8111 and the Engineer #2990 are developed for women’s feet requirements and needs. RED WING SHOES | NEW RELEASE: COOPER MOC #2954 & #2964

It seems to be a RED WING SHOES release week. Guys, the next new styles arrived at the stores: the COOPER, available in “AMBER HARNESS | #2954” and “BLACK HARNESS | #2964“. The classic design of the iconic RWS styles #875 and #877, which were popular in the past among sport and hunting enthusiasts, later construction workers, with that nowadays so beloved Cushion Crepe Sole, fueled the development of RED WING SHOES new COOPER collection. Okay – the COOPER – named for the woodworkers, who build barrels and casks. Compared to the #875 the COOPER shows two elementary differences: a smart profiled Vibram® 430 Mini-lug sole and speed hooks. THE TIMEX x RED WING SHOES COLLABORATION | JUST A FEW LIMITED WATCHES AVAILABLE

Originally these TIMEX x RED WING SHOES COLLABORATION WATCHES were just sold in Japan. Online in Europe just @ endclothing but right now RED WING SHOE STORE FRANKFURT got a strictly limited supply. You can buy the watches online – the only dealer in Germany – or directly in the store. The collaboration watch is available in three styles and sizes: 38 mm, 40 mm and a 42 mm Chrono. Each watch features vintage-inspired dials, stainless steel casing, is up to 50 meters water resistant, INDIGLO@ Night Light and Quick Date®. But the icing on the cake is that each watch is outfitted with an awesome premium leather strap supplied by the master tanners at RED WING SHOES – handcrafted for sure! I don’t know exactly what leather color the strap has. It is similar to the famous Oro-Legacy (oil tanned) former known as Oro-iginal but a little bit darker, no more colorful. This leather is used for the icons #875 Moc Toe and #877 Irish Setter. The watches come in a very nice designed box. RED WING #8882 INDIGO PORTAGE LEATHER & RWS FRANKFURT ONLINE SHOP RELAUNCHED

@ first some really great news for all RWS aficionados: The Online Store of Red Wing Shoe Store Frankfurt, Germany, has reopened after a complete relaunch: www.redwingfrankfurt.com! And I love this clean graphic style so much. I do not want to see the 877th rugged or vintage look-a-like page. Complements. Kami you did a perfect job with your team! So we did a test shopping some days before the shop went online … the result was the brand new limited RED WING #8882 – a perfect online order: Ordered in the morning and the next day the boot arrived. The online order process itself is very simple, fast and smooth … it works!

Constant readers of LTG Blog know that I like blue RWS a lot. Two years ago I got the indigo colored classic work #8100 Oxford from Japan and I still love it. The #8882 is the same shoe just 6″ high like the classic #875, moc toed, made of Indigo Portage Leather and completed by the Traction Tred Cushion Crepe Wedge. Very nice is the brown ending of the bootleg – a small detail, but I love the contrast between the rich blue and brown leather. Another nice feature: you don’t get only the standard Red Wing Shoe Laces but a second pair made of leather. The leather laces look very nice but for me these are not so practical. RED WING SHOES #8853 & #8852 | THE BLACK TRACTION TRED SOLE IS BACK … IN JAPAN

do you remember the days when – i do not now the number of the boot – the #875 looking RWS with a black traction tred cushion crepe wedge sole were for sale @ RED WING SHOE STORE FRANKFURT? oh damn, this is really a long time ago. OLLI THE BARBER owns one of these – always nice to see. it is a great color combination the brown leather with this fat black sole. RED WING JAPAN does now a blue – so f***ing awesome – and a brown boot with this nice black sole: the #8853 & #8852. aren’t they nice? the blue leather of the #8853 is called “INDIGO PORTAGE” and the brown one “VELVA RETAIN” like used to the BROGUE RANGER #8128. i think these will not come to europe because the average european RED WING consumer mostly prefers the white traction tred sole or a boot from the IRON RANGER range. a MOC TOE with a black is too exotic. we will see. the #8128 is on the top of my sales list! pics | © THREEWOOD, japan

what a found … did you hear about this japan limited RWS 6 inch boot? sorry, me not. you like? i do not know – but i think, i like the hybrid between the classic RWS moc toe and a canoe or boat shoe. the boots are available in the wonderful GOLD RUSSET SEQUOIA and ORO RUSSET. they show the classic 50s IRISH SETTER label and come in the retro box from this time. pics | THREEWOOD + FOOT TIME
