TELLASON | MEET ARTIST TODD BLUBAUGH @ SELVEDGE RUN, BERLIN 4TH-6TH JULY PRESENTING TELLASON’S NEW “BLUBAUGH” JEAN & BOOK SIGNING

And if you don’t know Todd it’s time to know him. And what’s about the TELLASON connection? Okay, Todd Blubaugh got a close friend to Pete Searson and Tony Patella, the guys behind this great brand. This is more than 5 years ago. Todd was born and raised in McPherson, Kansas. His earliest interests were in art and motorbikes and since the age of 12, Todd has been pursuing these two passions. He currently works in film, writes, shoots, and pursues collaborations with his roommates at The Chun, a motorcycle warehouse and art space in Los Angeles. “TOO FAR GONE” is his personal account of a cross-country journey taken on his hand-built motorbike “The Red Head” after his parents’ sudden death some days before his expected road trip departure. So the open road becomes a source of artistic inspiration, psychological freedom, and spiritual healing. He spent six months on the road during his transcontinental trip. Todd has a clear vision vision about the gear that helps him on his journey – this is the point when TELLASON came into play. Pete and Tony let Todd create the new TELLASON jean “THE BLUBAUGH” from top to bottom. Their 16.5 oz. denim is their toughest so it was an automatic choice for them to use for “THE BLUBAUGH”. It has a mid-rise slim straight fit that also comes in these lengths: 30″, 32″, and 34″. All jeans sold are raw, unwashed and unworn. Cut and sewn in San Francisco, Calif.

THE IRON SOCIETY POMADE | HANDMADE IN BROOKLYN

Some weeks ago I got this awesome “Grooming Package” from my soul brother Kornelius c/o Soulobjects.de, Berlin. The IRON SOCIETY POMADE he send me in all three versions, is from this day on my absolutely favorite pomade. The benefit is, that you just can use the type of pomade you need for the day. From firm hold – as its name says with a stronger grip – over a normal hold that keeps the hair under control for “that neat freshly combed look” to a water soluble pomade with a medium firm hold. All types have unbeatable smells: aromatic, fresh and clean but at the same very masculine and dirty – perfect. I get the best results by mixing the water soluble pomade with the firm hold one or the normal hold one. Another effect by mixing the classic petroleum based pomades with the water soluble one is, that the wash out works perfect. PASTA DEL CAPITANO 1905 ORIGINAL | ITALIAN TOOTHPASTE WITH UN UNFORGATBLE TASTE

Men, this toothpaste has not just a nice package, no, the taste is also really great. And beside this it is healthy, gives you a fresh breath and bright wight teeth. Kornelius Werhahn-Mees c/o SOULOBJECTS, Berlin, send me this wonderful parabene free toothpaste with a lot of other things to try some weeks ago and I must confess that this is the next highlight out of the box. Unbelievable that PASTA EL CAPITANO was introduced in Italy in 1905. Because of its wonderful and unique taste the toothpaste got very fast well known in Italy. The basic ingredients are green mints, cinnamon and clove leaves. SOULOBJECTS offers four sorts of PASTA EL CAPITANO beside the ORIGINAL: Natural Herbs, ACE, Whitening and Smokers. Normally I clean my teeth with an electric toothbrush but I must confess that the KOH-I-NOOR cleaning was really genial. For sure Kornelius send me with this toothbrush another classic from the 1930s with natural bristles and an old school horn look. Made in Italy too. GROOMING STUFF FROM SOUL OBJECTS BERLIN … AS A PRESENT … UNBELIEVABLE

Hi guys, first blog post 2016. I am sorry, but work was so hard and busy the first days of the new year. After a complete working through weekend it was such a pleasure to get a big parcel from SOUL OBJECTS BERLIN as a present – yes, as a present – this monday. What a superb surprise! Thank you so much soul sisters and brothers Melanie Rieman, Kornelius Werhahn-Mees and Oliver Hausner you made me really happy this day. What a perfect start for this week. And the best is, that I will have fun for weeks with this stuff. I noticed that the soul family send a lot of new products I do not know by now – exciting. I will try everything hard and tell you about the stuff at Life Time Gear. I am really curios about the new pomades from The Iron Society, Brooklyn. I got them all – 3 different sorts … YES! Also the products from The Brighton Beard Company make me very curios. Isn’t the design of the tins, the soap and the bags nice? JUST SOME X-MAS PRESENT IDEAS | #07 LEATHER KEY HOLDER by EMMA OPITZ LEDERLINGE

A nice key holder is a must. I own a lot of keys to put in order: several keys for home, office … my beloved Orange Beast and the car of my wife. All keys get hold be a LEDERLING (engl. Leather thing) hand made by EMMA OPITZ. These nice helper are made completely by hand in a little manufacture in Berlin, Germany. Every piece of EMMA OPITZ is a one of a kind, always a bit different from the one done before. The owner of EMMA OPITZ, Marc Türkheim, learned the famous knot that holds all this LEDERLINGE together by his grandma – it is a nice story! You can get several types of key holder and other leather accessories. The big ones I own are called “Bismark“ and the small one is a special custom thing which was made for KAMI, owner of B74. He gave me this key holder as a present – damn, I like this so much! The 2 “Bismarks” I got from volls.de. BYRD POMADE | HAIRDO PRODUCTS

At first just a “Must-Have-Thing” because of BYRDs the wonderful classic and simple design. Love this. But now – a “Must-Have-Thing” because of the perfect use and results. Found these great pomades @ Soul Objects, Berlin, Germany – where else? And my secret of the perfect use is to use both pomades at the same time – just mixed up. This is an unbeatable mixture in look and hold. Usually I don’t like water-based pomades so much because if you did your style, your pomp must last for the rest of the day. When you use a wax based one you always can re-style your pomp or hairdo, but sometimes you need the hold of a water based pomade … so … easy … mix’em up. And I love the citron smell of both so much. DOL GIN & BOIS 1920 DOLCE DI GIORNO FOR MY SOUL FROM SOUL OBJECTS, BERLIN

Do you know SOUL OBJECTS? I think everyone knows soul objects and has some favorite soul objects for his own. But do you know the store SOUL OBJECTS? If you don’t it is time to check it out. SOUL OBJECTS is a great store in the heart of Berlin, Germany. In short: you get there vintage & antique furniture, curious beard grooming products and barbershop supplies,  non-standard accessories,  a lot of handmade, unique stuff & bags, vintage rum & whiskey, gin, wine, art and, and, and so on. It is a must to check their site to learn more about this great store and its owners Kornelius & Oliver, men full of soul – they live what they sell. Look at the wonderful store photos full of soul below … awesome. Anyway, some weeks ago i ordered a new fragrance and another gin for my collection. Best choice! The Bois 1920 DOLCE DI GIORNO – Eau de Parfum is really something special. It would be too much to describe the smell and the idea behind this fragrance – and something more special: i got a limited art collection piece with a nice package design. DOL GIN is a direct hit for my gin collection. Great taste, not to fruity but so smooth. It is made in South Tirol, Italy. This is what the distiller says about his gin: “Florian Rabanser,  the master distiller at Plunhof,  is not only a perfectionist when it comes to the distillation of classic brandies and grappas,  but he is also overflowing with creativity and impetus when it comes to the implementation of new ideas. Two years of developmental work have brought us the first gin distilled in the region,  the first distilled only from herbs and ingredients grown here in the Dolomites. Together with the village apothecary,  we have meticulously analyzed which herbs typically used in the production of gin grow here in the Dolomites,  and which can be reasonably substituted with other local herbs. The high quality outcome is a real insiders’ tip and contains numerous plants and herbs,  which grow wildly here in the area of Mount Sciliar. HAND-DYED NATURAL INDIGO BANDANAS by ATELIER FUER BLAUDRUCK

some months ago i went to a nice artisan market in ASCHAFFENBURG, germany. there i found these wonderful triangle bandanas at a small and unremarkable stall. HOLGER STARCKEN is a so called BLAUDRUCKMEISTER and does all his wonderful stuff by hand. BLAUDRUCK (blue printing) has a more than 400 years old tradition in germany and is continued by the STARCKEN ATELIER which is located near BERLIN, germany. this BLAUDRUCK method can compared to batik dyeing. HOLGER STARCKEN is so cool, so unagitated. he does not need all this heritage and vintage odds and ends at his stall; his products speak for their selves – great!  i will visit STARCKEN again at 08th to 09th of november in  OFFENBACH at “Sammelsurium”. the site of the BLAUMACHER AUS BERLIN isn’t so nice and informative … but take a peek to learn more about BLAU MACHEN. pics | LTG
