ST. GEORGE SPIRITS | ARTISAN DISTILLERY

ARTISAN DISTILLERY? that sounds interesting … and it is! located in ALAMEDA, california, ST. GEORGE SPIRITS produce various spirits for the american market: ABSINTHE, BRANDIES, GIN, LIQUEURS, SINGLE-MALT WHISKEY, RUM AGRICOLE… they were founded as an eau de vie distillery nearly 30 years ago and “the principles of old world eau de vie distillation continue to inform every product we make today. eau de vie is all about capturing the essence of raw materials – it’s the only way we know to make fruit live forever. we work in small batches on copper pot stills. we watch our stills carefully, tasting as we go and discarding anything that’s less than absolutely sublime. Our goal is maximize flavor and aroma,  not profitability. It’s an artisanal process that results in a better-tasting product – that’s why we’ve always distilled that way and we always will”. check out more facts at www.stgeorgespirits.com, it is really exciting. and i like especially their bottle and etiquette designs – very nice and tasteful. pics | ST: GEORGE SPIRITS, Erin Hall, Jan Stürmann

WITH THE MISSION IN DAS BETT

as i assumed: THE MISSION played yesterday evening in DAS BETT at frankfurt an excellent gig. it was a very intimate concert, because the club is so small that you felt WAYNE HUSSEY’s breath in front of the stage. GREAT! this live performance will take a front place in my all-time concert chart. KLAUS was very enthused, too AND thx for the invitation! it was a great evening with three original members of THE MISSION and all the hits of the band. sometimes i thought time was turned back to the late eighties, all the people in black, their styles, the music … the video is from the gig at BRIXTON ACADEMY four days ago. pics | Klaus with iphone 4G

AND i found it!!! the ticket from 1987 when i saw THE MISSION the first time: at the #1 BIZZARE FESTIVAL at famous LORELEY. i remember that the festival was wonderful and me … very young …

LIFE TIME GEAR | PRIVATE FAVORITES #31 NIGEL CABOURN F/W11

these are good news: i do not need a new winter jacket this season! these are the bad news: the new NIGEL CABOURN F/W 2011 is so awesome that it is hard to overcome the temptation to buy a piece. the NC x EDDIE BAUER stuff is really well done – i could see and try it at volls. one piece is nicer than the other. when i tried the CANADIAN VEST it happened. i did not give it back to KLAUS. here are my favorites. beside there are some other icon pieces like the EVEREST PARKA in orange, HUNTING and MALLORY JACKETS and some KNITWEAR and bags – check volls.de. pics | Klaus Voll

LIFE TIME GEAR tested: best vest ever! the NIGEL CABOURN x Eddie Bauer Canadian Vest

NIGEL CABOURN x Eddie Bauer Skyliner Jackets

NIGEL CABOURN Everest Parka: NEW dark brown sheepskin collar! nice look and pactical

another absolute favorite of LIFE TIME GEAR: the 1940s DB Jacket Harris Tweed

THE MISSION | WAYNE HUSSEY IS BACK

WAYNE HUSSEY the voice is back. this evening he will be live on stage in DAS BETT in frankfurt, germany and me and KLAUS will see him with THE MISSION. call me crazy because of their music and their dark attitude but THE MISSION is one of my absolute favorite bands i heard in the late eighties and i never stopped listen to. i am sure it’ll be a great evening. beside the band celebrates its 25th birthday.
