LTG FAVORITES #83 | ORO-RUSSET RED WING SHOES

i did this post to show my buddy RON WELLDON how different the oro-russet color on RED WING SHOES could look like, because he asked me something about. so here you can see my oro-russet colored RWS line up. sure the color changes with every wear. it is certain that oro-russet gets darker. look at the vintage #855 and #877 irish setter. but even the new boots show some differences: #4558 and #2940. the #866 PECOS is vintage but not worn so often and it shows again another color. but as you know: we love this handmade stuff and i am really glad that the shoe color isn’t all the same. exciting. that’s one reason why i love to wear and own RED WING SHOES! pics | LTG

FROM THE ARCHIVES – 2005 | LTG SAYS HO HO HO

another pic from the archives: 2005 we did this unprofessional shoot for a simple and fast xmas greeting card for my design studio. a few days later little LEVI was born. it was so cold and snowing – no fake. damn, i got a lot of more wrinkles the last 7 years and my beard wasn’t so big. i loved this jacket and this was not a FILSON jacket, it was a limited WOOLRICH WOOLEN MILLS parka which i had to give back because it lost the downs. i was really sad because i didn’t get it back. i got another ltd. WOOLRICH arctic parka with a wool blanket lining but this one wasn’t so old school as the classic red/black checkered one. so … HO HO HO – i wish you all an exciting ST NICHOLAS’ DAY.  pic | LTG

WOODEN BOW TIES by TWO GUYS’ BOW TIES

as a bow tie lover the stuff off TWO GUYS’ BOW TIES is something special to me. when i first saw the wooden pieces i did not know what to think. on the one hand i thought: great idea and certainly good looking on the other hand i asked me if a wooden bow tie maybe looks to static. but after seeing the sample pics with worn wooden bow ties i must tell you: they look great! there are much more styles at TWO GUYS’ BOW TIES – take a peak! pics | TWO GUYS’ BOW TIES

BOOT OF THE DAY | #151 | VINTAGE L.L. BEAN MAIN HUNTING SHOES

wonderful rugged MAINE HUNTING SHOES from L.L. BEAN. this style was LEON LEONWOOD BEAN’S very first product in 1912. the leather version was introduced 1932. this one here looks like from the 50s with a great patina but still in shape. i think it must be about 14″ high. great! found at japanese JAM shop via RAKUTEN. pics | JAM

STUFF FROM MY RUGGED LITTLE BOY

today some stuff from my 6 years old son LEVI. like me he is a great denim, boot and hat lover. the cowboy shirt you see below was a present from UWE c/o AMTRAQ. his son was wearing this original ROCKMOUNT RANCH WEAR shirt before. great quality, made in the USA. another beloved piece is the ATELIER LA DURANCE NOVELTY JACKET. great classic look and best manufacturing – from the time when ALD was made in france! i bought this jacket years ago at B74 knowing that it will fit LEVI some day. and the BLUNDSTONE boots. damn, poor boots: this one are just 1/2 year old. LEVI’S most beloved shoes. he has always two pairs with the same size. one pair has always a day to relax after heavy wear over an exciting school and outdoor day. i think i bought about 6 pairs the last 3 years. the TICK, TRICK & TRACK hat is from SCHMITTHUT. it is older than 10 years and it was mine before i gave it to LEVI, my first SCHMITTHUT hat. it was always a bit too small for my head. pics | LTG

RED WING SHOES “THE SUPERSOLE® TRIO” | BLACK RED GOLD

yes, black, red and gold are the colors of the german flag. AND these are also the colors of my 3 SUPESOLED RED WING SHOES called “FRANKFURTER”. the black one is style #8133, the red one #8804 and the beige or gold one is style #8118. all three boots are of different ages. the #8804 is my oldest with about 20 years, the #8118 is the newest in my cupboard but this one was worn years before and the black #8133 is about one year old. a great trio. one boot is nicer than the other. and i love walking on the SUPERSOLE® – it is so comfortable. pics | LTG
