yesterday i have had a photo shooting for an upcoming campaign i am not allowed to talk or write about. the photos below were made before the shooting at casino, wiesbaden, germany, in between light and position tests. the shooting was made with a client of me and a german celebrity. it was really cool and smooth and the results are perfect. AND i got back home for the kickoff GERMANY vs. NETHERLANDS just to the point. why showing these photos? it’s funny, because of a complete volls.de outfit: NIGEL CABOURN oiled aircraft jacket, GITMAN VINTAGE shirt, JOHNSON MOTORS bandana, FILSON paded laptop bag, EDWIN ED-A1, POST OVERALLS vest … damn, the volls.de advertisement sticker is missing. i should talk about sponsoring with KLAUS, just joking, … and WOUTER, you found the LONG JOHN tag? pics | christian grau

checking the wonderful blog BACKYARD BILL after a longer break i discovered the portrait of GREG CHAPMAN. i knew his face from facebook – face? facebook?… ahhhhh – cool guy! so i checked the short interview BILL always does with the people he portrays. and i discovered a  – for me –  new brand where GREG works as creative director: H. BOOT OF THE DAY | #133 | WHITE’S CHROME EXCEL NAVY SMOKEJUMPER

wow, colorful: a classic WHITE’S SMOKEJUMPER in bright chrome excel navy leather combined with my favorite VIBRAM SOLE #2021. so this type of boot is called NORTHWEST. very nice – lace-to-toe, nickel hardware with yellow brown laces, of course made in the USA. the look is so unusual but fascinating at the same time for me. found at VECK, japan. the price is nearly 100,000 yen. pics | VECK

BOTTLE CAP BLUES | OR HOW TO OPEN A BOTTLE OF BEER

this video was done by CHRIS SUMERS. it is art! really, for sure. this video is part of an installation by ADAM YOUNG’S SOLO ART SHOW at common house gallery which is entitled “SONGS OF THE EARLY RISER”. i think the guys have had a lot of fun doing this film. not all bottles were opened “trinkable” but i am sure there were enough to quench. great film!!! enjoy, or did you ever open a bottle of beer with a piece of pizza? video | Chris Sumers

one of my absolute longtime yes, life time favorite bands will release their new album titled ALGIERS on september the 10th. the last studio album was releasd 4 years ago! the album was recorded in NEW ORLEANS. exaclty in ALGIERS, a part of the city of NW. SOMEONE’S 1964 RUGGED CHEVROLET C10 PICKUP | MEGA LOW

he STEVEN W. thx for the nice iphone pics you send me last night! and this pics are not somewhere from TENNESSEE, MISSISSIPPI or ALABAMA, they are from somewhere at BERGSTRASSE in the middle of germany. damn fucking nice CHEVY C10, built in 1964 with a 320 PS machine – sorry, but STEVEN didn’t gave me more facts with the iphone pics. soooooooooooooooooo low. and i wrote that it would be a mission impossible to drive such a thing on german roads. okay this rugged beauty has red number plates, hm, maybe someone from german TÜV driving this car – a joke! strange, this is the second post about a low C10 in one week. STEVEN, maybe you can send me some more pics and informations about the owner of this awesome truck. and beside, your RED WING 8109 or 8138, i can’t identify because of your denim covering the bootleg – oxford or boot? – fits the rusty engine hood perfect. stay tuned STEVEN! and what’s about your boot collection? your portrait? … pics | Steven Weiland with iPhone

LIFE TIME GEAR BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 12 | VINTAGE CUSTOMIZED RED WING SHOES STYLE 899

generally i bought this boot just to complete my boot & shoe collection with one of the icon RED WING SHOES par excellence: the #899. i was searching for a classic oro-russet colored one. hard to find, because the 899 is not built anymore. since about two years you can buy the oro-iginal colored #2945 and the dark brown #4585 with the same shape and sole – nice boots but not the classic #899. awkward to say: i owned a 899 about 20 years ago. it was my second RWS, but i sold it to buy another one when i was a student – no money to own several paris of RWS. a big mistake! but times change … now i own a classic vintage 899 RWS IRISH SETTER. i bought it more than a year ago at ebay. it is really rugged but in good condition. when i got it, i changed the soles because i decided to wear the boot. the plan to complete just my collection was cancelled. this #899 is still much to nice just to be placed in the closet. and it is so comfortable with the original RWS white crepe sole. pics | LTG
