wonderful simple leather bandana ring made of 1960’s swiss army leather, which is from rifle slings. stamped with the ATELIER D L’ARMÉE and some unreadable words. the smell of this 50 yera old leather is really heavy but ALEX from awesome because-blog will send me some special leather conditioner which kills all these “muff” and turns it into a breeze of sweet marzipan. pics | LTG
really funny. i got my beard since 19 years. not always so full as today and the last 5 years but every time more than a mustache. my wife just knows me from photos without having a beard. we are married more than 17 years. but i never found such a lot of beard grooming stuff or styling hints and even men with beards around me than the last 2 years. 2 weeks ago ALEX from because blog send me a wonderful beard soap, i did not tried yet because of the nice look. i wont fuck this up. last friday OLLI THE BARBER gave me the OTTER WAX beard oil for testing. one day before i ordered MR. BEAR BEARD OIL from sweden – that’s life. i did a little comparison of both oils. by the way: if you have a full beard i just can advise you to use an oil. your beard hair is getting smooth and bright. and it is so cool to smell the fresh air blowing up your mind straight from your chin.the package design of OTTER is unbeatable, but the closing of the bottle is really f***ing bad. after in use for 2 times the cover got broken and so you cannot close it correctly any more. MR. BEAR’s bottle design is so shitty that it is really funny and good again. it’s charming – i like it. okay, the bottle looks like a nose drop bottle but the idea with the pump is perfect. so the bottle does not get grease and oily. closing of the bottle works perfect. in use both oils are really great. your beard thanks this grooming to you. it gets a smooth and lightly grip and pleasant log fragrance. OTTER WAX smells so pure for nature: cedar, vetiver, pepper. you think you walk through a forest by smelling it. MR. still posting birthday presents. i got this wonderful vintage poster from ALEX c/o because.blog. it is from “SAIL BREMERHAVEN 2000” where a lot of tall ships met. all the captains signed this wonderful paper; all signs and stamps are originals no prints. so awesome! thx ALEX for this nice present again. the poster will get a place in my office. hope to get it framed soon! pics | LTG
last week i got a large letter from POPEYE. hahahahah … ? but, yes, from POPEYE, look at the photo of the letter below. as a constant reader of my blog you know that i am a great POPEYE fan and the best POPEYE accessory i ever got was the talisman which gave MARIA from feinschmuck.de and ALEX from because blog to me some weeks ago. and damn, the POPEYE who send me this awesome MISSOURI MEERSCHAUM CORN COB PIPE was ALEX again. thanks again, ALEX – great idea! and funny, it is some years ago but i was a passionate pipe smoker for about 3 years after i stopped smoking my beloved dark GITANES. i wish, spring will come soon so that i can test the pipe on our terrace over the roofs of DARMSTADT CITY. saturday evening i went to frankfurt, main, to meet ALEXANDER from BECAUSE BLOG with MARIA and UWE from AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION. all together we joined an event and small fashion show at B74. this show was organized by the city of frankfurt in context of the MTV EUROPEAN MUSIC AWARDS which took place yesterday. they used the B74 as a location for a small fashion show of frankfurt located label COCOLORES. all the stuff has had nothing to do with the stuff KAMI sells at B74 and RED WING STORE FRANKFURT. but it was nice to meet some friends there and exciting what was happening. beside the show i found LUST AUF GUT journal with some very well done sites portraying B74 and THE RWS STORE. cool layout, really well done. pics | LTG
although i have a beard, at the moment a large one, a good day for me starts with a comfortable and accurate shave. of course classic: with a knife, a brush and a shaving soap. but i must admit that i am not so hardcore with my razor like others. i use a knife with changeable blades from TONDEO. and i must tell you even with this COMFORT CUT called blades i left some marks over the years. i am not brave enough to test a razor which i sharp myself with a strop. how do i know that it got blunt? when blood runs over my throat? hm, i would like to use, because you can get so awesome razor knives and the sharpen procedure is certainly something special. i think i must ask a specialist for details, maybe ALEX from because blog is an expert on razor shaving because he linked some very interesting sites on his blog site like RASURPUR.de . i will meet him the upcoming weekend in frankfurt. a great combo is the WHISKEY SHAVE SOAP from PORTLAND GENERAL STORE with the corresponding eau de toilette. smells like a pure smooth bourbon – so awesome in the morning. and one of my best buys this year is the BAXTER OF CALIFORMIA TRAVEL SHAVING BRUSH. genius idea. wow, when i used this piece for the first time it smelled so for badger and animal … boooaaah. but so i knew it was not a fake. pics | LTG
