LIFE TIME GEAR | FAVORITES #56 | TELLASON DENIM

when i visited UWE @ AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION he gave me 2 different TELLASON jeans. since this day on i wore my slim tapered 12.5 oz white oak cone mills denim named Ladbroke Grove nearly every day. great cut, perfect fit, comfortable, best looking – awesome. TELLASON stuff is made in san francisco – all material and components are made in the USA. beside the Ladbroke Grove there are 2 other styles: Johan Graham Mellor & Ankara. in summer there will be a new one which will be named Gustave. PETE & TONY from TELLASON are great THE CLASH fans. so all jeans’ styles are concerned to the famous english punkband. Ladbroke Grove f.ex. is a part of LONDON where JOE STRUMMER grew up. available for fall/winter 2012 @ volls.de and B-74.

here some features of TELLASON jeans:
_ extra deep front pocket bags made our of 11 oz cotton
_ lower part of back pockets re-inforced by cotton to avoid comb,  knife or wllet to push trough, leather patch made by TANNER GGODS of Portland,  Or.
_ “yoke-over-panel” construction for better fit and easier reach of back pockets.
_ TELLASON produced the FILSON Jeans and some stuff for A CONTINOUS LEAN

RED WING SHOES | THE ANATOMY OF A RWS STYLE 875

this is something for “INSIGHTERS”. hope to show you views which some of you never saw before. last week KLAUS from volls.de gave me this cut of a RWS #875 to do a post if i would like – and for sure, i like. sometimes the insole construction reminds me a tasty sandwich … beside, what a terrible thought when my RWS 875 would be cut in the middle into 2 parts. pics | LTG

LIFE TIME GEAR | FAVORITES #53 | NIGEL CABOURN, CARHARTT, RED WING SHOES … ALL CAMOUFLAGE

i love camouflage, by sure i am not a military fan. i did my military services 20 years ago, this was okay but enough. i just like the pattern. and the worst thing you can do is wearing all this stuff together … an absolute NO-GO! just wearing one camo piece combined with non-camo is allowed. the difference from pattern to pattern is really interesting. mostly i like the classic US ARMY camouflage design from f.ex. the CARHARTT Heritage Settler Jacket, the NEW ERA STAPLE CAP and the bow tie. beside the NIGEL CABOURN designs are although very nice and special. the beeswax ARMY & CAMO CAMERAMAN JACKET is really cool and not so loud. the RED WING # 8150 and NC NAVAL PARKA SAND CAMO i like so much because of their alone standing design. especially the RWS 8150 is something special because of its strictly limited status. and at least my old brand new VOLKSWAGEN. not really camo but tan! i don’t know why all the people starring at my car? … pics | LTG, end., ushowu

LIFE TIME GEAR @ VOLLS

yesterday morning i visited my buddy KLAUS, owner of VOLLS shop, darmstadt, germany, and volls.de. it is always nice to have a change in an exhausting working week, even it is only about an hour. speaking about local news, upcoming collections and checking some stuff arrived the last days. one of my actual new favorites KLAUS got these days: MERZ B. SCHWANEN. really great stuff – you feel the passion and heritage the makers put in the pieces when you touch it, see it and feel it by wearing. and beside me my wife loves it, too. another highlight yesterday where some extraordinary pieces from EDWIN OVERWORKING. pretty nice and extremely exclusive but damn expensive. KLAUS is heavy working on his online shop update for S/S 2012 while is waiting for more new stuff to come from ENGINEERED GARMENTS, POST OVERALLS, ALDEN, and and and. what a pitty, half an hour later when i left KLAUS the new LEVIS VINTAGE CLOTHING stuff arrived. yep, another reason to come back soon next week. i will keep you updated for the online shop update. pics | LTG

GRAIG LEWIS vs. KLAUS VOLL | BORN ON THE 10TH JAN.

hi KLAUS,  all the best to your 45th birthday! 12 days are left and i will reach the same age level! every year it’s the same. again i wish you: have a lot of fun today at PITTI UOMO in Firenze. AND maybe we could join the fair together next year – hope again so. stay tuned and take care – above all on the racebike. have a good trip back to germany. stay tuned!

BOOT OF THE DAY | #100 | YUKETEN “JOHNNY”

damn, again a new boot. it is a pity when you know someone like KLAUS and KAMI selling boots. selling even those boots you mostly like. yes, i did: this brown YUKETEN called “JOHNNY” has found its way into my cupboard. JOHNNY is so beautiful, so easy to wear and comfortable, so classic styled, so heritage … simply a PEFECT BOOT. not so heavy as a WHITE’s and by far not so work boot look-a-like as a RED WING SHOE. some more facts: chrome excel leather, leather laces, medallion tip, width D, goodyear welt construction, CATS PAW SOLE,  leather insole with cushioned footbedand leather laces, handmade in CANADA. JOHNNY is a welcome change in my boot line up. volls.de got the JOHNNY in brown and in black – hm, and the black one is really pretty, too. pics | volls.de

visiting KLAUS two days ago to talk aboput a new ad for volls he showed me a new label: Dr.Collectors. directly from the box KLAUS gave me awesome BANDANA SCARFS. great idea by L.A. located brnad: “We have always been fascinated by vintage American clothing and collectors., After a Sunday at the Rose Bowl flea market looking for old bandanas, we arrived at home and opened the big bag of Bandanas and we started ordering them by color,  we suddenly had an idea: ​To ​sew the bandanas together to build a scarf Dr.Collectors. S.N.S. HERNING | F/W2011 @ VOLLS.DE

it got a bit quiet about S.N.S. HERNING; compared to the last years i could find just a few new blog entries about the things the danish company will do. so i was happy when KLAUS from volls.de told me that he got new stuff. all the classics are still manufactured with genuine knitting machinery made in germany by STOLL. all pieces have their own history which is grounded years ago. so the AMALGAM CARDIGAN, one of my absolute favorite pieces, was first issued in 1952. below you’ll find just a few pieces of the stock at volls.de. these are my favs. pics | volls.de

THE HILLSIDE | F/W COLLECTION @ VOLLS.DE

the last years i always had to order my HILLSIDE scarfs from the US or  from the UK. but right now … great: KLAUS from volls.de did a big order and offers 13! different scarfs and pocket squares in his online shop and store. i never saw such a great choice of HILLSIDE stuff outside the USA. one piece nicer than the other. all made of 100% cotton in NEW YORK CITY with different washings and weights. great stuff! here my favorites.  pics | volls.de
