THE RISING SUN & CO. DUCK MACHINIST CAP

the blogposts about my birthday presents will not end …  the DUCK MACHINIST CAP from the RISING SUN & CO is one of my absolute favorite caps since UWE c/o AMTRAQ gave it to me. it is nearly a bit to big but i love the style the cap fits my head. mostly with the shield fold up – cool! some features: made of 100% american made cotton duck, traditional 6 panel cap with half inch button down headband, 3/8″ double needle chain stitched binding, medium length soft bill with multiple stitch construction, brass metal stamped RISING SUN & CO logo button with black enamel finish. the cap is also available in brown. pics | LTG

LTG FAVORITES #88 | NIGEL CABOURN AGAIN: SS 2013 COLLECTION @ VOLLS.DE

just a short break from this work all day long for weeks. KLAUS – long time no see, nice to meet him yesterday morning in his shop. i knew that parts of the actual SS2013 NIGEL CABOURN collection arrived last friday. the next days will be still busy and so i decided to ride my BULLIT to schulstrasse to talk a bit to KLAUS, drink some espresso and take a look at the new NC stuff. damn: so amazing nice this f***ing camo stuff. beside this, the new TAPED CAMERAMAN and AIRCRAFT JACKET and the denim vest are really very well done too. there are some more shirts i will post later when all stuff arrived. my absolute favorites at the moment: the CAMO NOTCH WORK JACKET combined with the CAMO WORK VEST made of camo drill. detailed information later. the stuff will be online @ volls.de in about 14 days, but one camo work jacket and a vest in size 52 are missing … pics | LTG

LTG – REACHING THE NEXT LEVEL IN SHAVING WITH A KNIFE

my mum, dad and my brother’s family gave me this japanese shaving razor as a present to my birthday in january. since years i shave my beard with a knife, but the one i used was a soft and very light version from TONDEO – check my post about shaving some weeks ago. my new knife is a shaving razor with changeable blades, too, but much heavier and bigger in comparison to the TONDEO COMFORT CUT. really similar to a traditional shaving razor. it is a FEATHER SHAVING RAZOR ARTIST CLUB DX knife, made in japan, and it is offered by NASSRASUR.com . it works so perfect. much better and less difficult in use than the light TONDEO razor. no cuts, no hurts, just smooth in use and easy to handle. i think after using this knife a while i will try someday a classic one which has no changeable blades – i am sure i will do! pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #165 | VINTAGE RED WING SHOES #1945 ERIC CLAPTON CLASSICS WITH BLACK RUBBER TOES

damn, this is really heavy stuff: someone put black rubber on the toes of a rare classic ERIC CLAPTON RED WING BOOT style 1945. i’m always in extraordinary stuff, but this is even to heavy for me. never saw such a ”dirty nose” of a RED WING boot before and i don’t like this. it is done to protect the toes of getting wet; a sort of old school goretex® – waterproof rubber. this boot is actually on ebay now. if you like a pair of boots on which everybody will staring at and ask you why you have painted your boot toes with rubber, it is a must-have for you. apart from the rubber noses the boot is in a really good condition. pics | ebay name joeymest

THE NIGEL CABOURN CREW SIGN

another birthday present i got last week was this small emblem, sign or call it as you like from KAMI c/o RED WING STORE FRANKFURT. a great gift because you can’t buy it yet. he told me that he got it from NIGEL CABOURN himself at BREAD & BUTTER this january. all members of NIGEL’s crew wore this nice beautiful sign. it’s meaning? i do not exactly. the small piece of metal looking like a crown is the symbol you saw on my TRAVELLER’S NOTEBOOK ARMY EDITION from the NIGEL x MIDORI collaboration. it is the british broad arrow military symbol which was used during WWII to symbolise government ownership of the product. some guys told me that the rolled up piece is derived from something that has to do with the british submarine navy in WWII. i couldn’t find anything about this searching really intensive the web. but it’s from NIGEL and that’s enough i have to know as a great NC fan. thank you KAMI for this special gift. the BRASS ballpoint pen is in heavy use too! i tried the sign on some of my NC pieces and it fits.  pics | LTG | people FRED c/o redwing1905.blog

CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 V100-S | SCALE 1/10 REMOTE CONTROLLED – UNBELIEVABLE REAL

got a link this morning from my buddy CHRISSIE to show it my little LEVI who is a great CAMARO fan like me. the video shows a remote controlled CHEVY CAMARO ZL1. damn this little red thing is so well done with uncountable features. you must take a look at the video, especcially the READY-TO-RUN-SECTION: just great! enjoy! pics & video | www.horizonhobby.com, Horizon Hobby GmbH

BOOT OF THE DAY | #164 | THOROGOOD LACE-TO-TOE ROFFER BOOT #814-6233 BLACK

i know the THOROGOOD ROOFER BOOT very well by walking some miles in it. but not in this awesome black one #814-6233 but in the tan brown THOROGOOD iconic roofer boot #633. and funny: after a while i took the roofer special sole away and put a VIBRAM #2021 on it which is similar to the VIBRAM CHRISTY. i never really liked the #633 and so i sold it on ebay a while ago to get some more space for my boot collection. but i must tell you that this black beauty is really nice – isn’t it? i never saw the THOROGOOD ROOFER BOOT in black before i found it at  www.hickorees.com . one of the best online shops around the www.

some facts: black oil-tanned leather, GOODYEAR storm welt construction (fully resoleable), engineered composite shank, removable “Dual Density Ultimate Shock Absorption” footbed on Poron 4000 Comfort Cushion, VIBRAM CHRISTY blown rubber wedge outsole, seam reinforcing rivets. certainly made in the USA. pics | HICKOREES

TRAVELLER’S NOTEBOOK ARMY EDITION | NIGEL CABOURN x MIDORI COLLABORATION

last week i celebrated my birthday and i got a lot of pretty cool presents. one present were the FALSE TONGUES i posted last friday. beside this beloved and now in use piece of leather FRED gave me this awesome TRAVELLER’S NOTEBOOK which is the result of a collaboration between NIGEL CABOURN and japanese MIDORI. it has a leather cover branded with the british broad arrow military symbol, which was used during WWII to symbolise government ownership of the product. look at the awesome pencil. what a great gift to me! the NC x MIDORI notebook will be available with next NC F/W 2013 collection. beside, MIDORI notebooks will be available next autumn @ volls.de. pics | LTG
