RED WING SHOES | RED WING HERITAGE’ 5 NEW POSTMAN SERIES

yesterday i got the information from the RWS HERITAGE central europe, that the 5 new POSTMAN styles are now available @ the RWS dealers around europe. so one of the most beloved but at the same time hated styles the #101 now gets a fashion touch – with all this new colors and mostly because of the white RWS cushion crepe outsole which is really important for a lot, maybe the most of all the RWS lovers. for me, there is only one POSTMAN: the #101. here some information from RWS HERITAGE: “Red Wing Heritage proudly presents 5 new Postman shoes,  inspired by style no.101,  Red Wing’s original postman shoe. Designed, to meet Postal Service requirements,  the 101 is sturdy, sleek and simplistic and these characteristics served America’s, mailmen well. First introduced in 1954, Red Wing is now expanding on this style with five more casual variations. The new Postman shoes are built using the same leather upper as the 101 including a dog tail, blind eyelets and a Goodyear, Welt. Premium Red Wing leathers,  made at Red Wing Shoe’s very own S.B. Foot tannery are used to craft the new, Postman. The cushion crepe outsole gives these boots as much comfort as the 101, allowing for the longer walks,  as a, postman would., The Postman comes in 5 colors. RED WING SHOES | THE 9877 IRISH SETTER vs THE 877

i am really happy to get one of 60 pairs that came strictly limited to europe, because this boot is an absolut must-have-collector-item. the boot is only available @ RED WING STORES. thx KAY from RW STORE BERLING & HAMBURG for reserving the boot. the 9877 was previously sold in JAPAN beside some other styles in that beautiful color: SEQUOIA GOLD. i did a post in october 2011: BOOT OF THE DAY | #91 | LIMITED RED WING BOOT 9871. the 9877 features some details of the first IRISH SETTER production in 1952. so the SEQUOIA colored leather is the original one followed by the famous oro-iginal. only at the top of right boot there are stamped RED WING letters: no corporate wing logo on the boot except the sole which is exactly the same on both boots. inside the 9877 there is the old version of the IRISH SETTER tag – beautiful! boot and RED WING SHOE experts sure will notice the square stitched corners where the leather is fixed to the tongue – an outstanding detail. the boot comes with heavy leather laces and in a wonderful IRISH SETTER labeled box. by the way, the 877 has on another very nice detail: on every eyelet the letters RED WING are engraved. the 877 will leave my collection. my friend PZ will adopt this really nice walked in boot. so i know these boots will be in good hands … pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #165 | VINTAGE RED WING SHOES #1945 ERIC CLAPTON CLASSICS WITH BLACK RUBBER TOES

damn, this is really heavy stuff: someone put black rubber on the toes of a rare classic ERIC CLAPTON RED WING BOOT style 1945. i’m always in extraordinary stuff, but this is even to heavy for me. never saw such a ”dirty nose” of a RED WING boot before and i don’t like this. it is done to protect the toes of getting wet; a sort of old school goretex® – waterproof rubber. this boot is actually on ebay now. if you like a pair of boots on which everybody will staring at and ask you why you have painted your boot toes with rubber, it is a must-have for you. apart from the rubber noses the boot is in a really good condition. pics | ebay name joeymest

LIFE TIME GEAR | PRIVATE FAVORITES #22 “RED WING SHOES THONG / FLIP FLOP“

this is my RWS ORO-IGINAL line up. it is a pitty that there is no oxford colored in this beautiful cognac brown. there is missing an IRON RANGER i’ve sold last year to my friend PeZi because of cleaning up my stressed cupboard – too many boots … but really exotic: the RED WING THONG or FLIP FLOP bought some years ago in the states. these are fantastic for really hot summer days or holidays at the sea. i just searched the web if those are still available: i think NO. RW called this style ALIBI made of earth full grain leather. soft leather with goodyear welt stitching. very special: the great burnished RWS logo to the foodbed. the genuine RWS crepe outsole is lighter and more flexible than the original here seen on the 875 and 877 styles. bad pics | Life Time Gear
