when i wear no hat or cap i always use pomade. i do this such a long time that i can’t remember when i started greasing my hair. it needed years to find the right grease or rather the perfect combination: not to slicky but hard, not too hard, but firm, sometimes using some hairspray, … at the beginning i used classic pomades like ROYAL CROWN, DAX, SWEET GEORGIA BROWN and others. i was be cheesed of getting out these things of my hair. so i discovered and used a long time the classic AMERICAN CREW POMADE and i started to mix different sorts of AC products f.ex. POMADE with FIBER. the result was good but not perfect. one year ago i found the best combination ever: LAYRITE ORIGINAL DELUXE POMADE, 4 oz, mixed with BLACK DIAMOND POMADE, STRONG HOLD – absolute perfect. sometimes i combine LAYRITE with MR. DUCKTAIL POAMDE, this works perfect too. for extreme long hold i use the german classic SPRÜHGOLD. bad: combing after using spray isn’t possible anymore and makes bad looking. very important before combing: allocating the pomade with a special brush. since more than 5 years i use always one comb. this is made of carbon in japan. OLLI THE BARBER gave it some day as present to me. this is the best comb i ever had – and a pocket comb is always with me, even if i wear a hat – this is a must! bad pics | LTG

this WHITE’S BOOTS is a hybrid of a SMOKEJUMPER and a SEMI DRESS boot for me. i love this old style work boot look – so classic! this boot is much lighter than the classic 8″ SMOKEJUMPER and very comfortable to wear everyday, the whole day. this boot was a great deal for less money compared to the normal prices you have to pay for a WHITE’S. bought this boot brand new at eBay for less than 200 US$. for sure it is hand lasted in SPOKAN, WA, USA. an uncomplicated, very comfortable, simple and honest boot for life – one of my absolute favorite pieces!
YEAH – i got it. VOLKER WIEGMANN & RALF EHLERS c/o vintagepanerai.com finished the production of their new book WATCHES WITH HISTORY – HISTORY1. it’s really hard to find the right words describing this wonderful 420 pages strong brilliant book. i always get excited when i take it to watch at. there are more than 250 historical photos, maps, documents – some of them top secret in the past –, a lot of informative vintage and new illustrations and alot of interesting stuff to read. i think this book is not only interesting for PANERISTI but although for people who are interested in submarines, the history of WWII and “german kampfschwimmer”. the book documents the stories of three of them, their training, the missions. the fourth story is about the commander of the italian submarine “AMBRA”. all stories are very personal and exciting. you can find a lot of more information at vintagepanerai.com. and the best: there you can order the book, but hurry up before it is sold out! i think the first book of WIEGMANN / EHLERS is sold out. whatever?! i got all of them – yep. bad pics | LTG
there is not much to say. this just a perfect looking boot, especially the two tone one. made of chrome excel leather combined with canvas, a #2021 vibram sole, lace to toe …. available in brown/natural white and black/black. the style is named #245. just small UK sizes left at THE RUGGED MUSUEM, japan; these boots are on sale. what a nice boot – really well done. however, i never saw a VIBERG boot that wasn’t looking good … pics | THE RUGGED MUSEUM
