LUST AUF GUT | RED WING SHOE STORE FRANKFURT & B74

saturday evening i went to frankfurt, main, to meet ALEXANDER from BECAUSE BLOG with MARIA and UWE from AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION. all together we joined an event and small fashion show at B74. this show was organized by the city of frankfurt in context of the MTV EUROPEAN MUSIC AWARDS which took place yesterday. they used the B74 as a location for a small fashion show of frankfurt located label COCOLORES. all the stuff has had nothing to do with the stuff KAMI sells at B74 and RED WING STORE FRANKFURT. but it was nice to meet some friends there and exciting what was happening. beside the show i found LUST AUF GUT journal with some very well done sites portraying B74 and THE RWS STORE.  cool layout, really well done. pics | LTG

FROM CRAZY HEART TO TOMORROWLAND | RYAN BINGHAM

i am sure you know RYAN BINGHAM. no? yes, you do, at least from the soundtrack of CRAZY HEART where great JEFF BRIDGES played an old countrystar. RYAN got an OSCAR for the song “THE WEARY KIND” and a lot of other awards. this was 2010. in that year he released “JUNKY STAR” produced by T BONE BURNETT and got into the top 20 us-charts – a success for a country album! after that RYAN left UNIVERSAL’S LOST HIGHWAY label and founded an own one. respect! the result is the brand new long-player TOMORROWLAND. his voice got rougher and sometimes he reminds to BRAYN ADAMS or BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. there are some very nice quiet songs,  combined by southern rockin’ tracks, sometimes nearly a bit grungy, some hymns, sometimes dirty – i like this mix. and he wears cool boots: RED WING SHOES IRON RANGER # 8111. see the last pic. pics & vid | © RYAN BINGHAM

RED WING SHOES # 101 POSTMAN

2 days ago i posted that KLAUS from volls.de has had a surprise for me: it was a present. a special present: the iconic # 101 from RED WING SHOES – the POSTMAN. it took me a long time to think about the fact if i like the shoe or not. i always asked me if i should give it a try. now KLAUS did the decision for me and i must tell you this classic shoe is an absolute must have for RED WING lovers. it looks great at the feet, is mega comfortable and full of heritage. thanks again KLAUS. i got my # 101 as a thx from KLAUS for our good teamwork and my support in marketing and design for volls.de. we did a lot the last time and i think our little team works perfect. i am curios about our next projects and exciting about the new designed packages. hope they will arrive soon! pics | LTG

CONGRATULATIONS TO BURG & SCHILD’S 5TH ANNIVERSARY

he guys very well done!

SHANE and KAY stay tuned for the next 5 years and many more! 
i am still sad that i couldn’t join your party last saturday – saw the pics on facebook. 
looking great – as i expected.

now for me the circle with BURG & SCHILD is closed. after opening the shop in 2007 i did a story about B&S in germanys r’n’r magazine #1 DYNAMITE in spring 2008. i worked for the mag amongst others as the art director and one of the editors at this time. i met KAY at an event at B-74 and we talked about B&S – it was amazing. i went to the store for the first time in january 2009 when i joined the second floor show at 14oz. this year i joined the BEER, BIKES AND BURGER party and it was like meeting old friends although i saw SHANE & KAY the third time. now i got the 5th anniversary B&S boot the black ltd. RED WING LOGGER #2007. so the first circle is closed and we opened a second one …

and beside, this was LIFE TIME GEAR’s 1001 post. i forgot to do an anniversary post, … but in this case, i think it doesn’t matter. pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #143 | RED WING SHOES X BEAMS SUPERSOLE BOOTS

damn, these # 8803 are really awesome. i am a great fan of RWS’ so called “FRANKFURTER” with the famous black SUPERSOLE®; my first RED WING boot ever was a # 8804 i still own. so it is for sure that a black # 8133 has found its way to my boot closet too. since a while i am searching for the beige rough out # 8118 in 9.5D. yesterday my buddy and copywriter PETER told me about a dark grey rough out “FRANKFURTER” he found on a blog site. he told me that this boot would be a result from a collaboration between japanese BEAMS and RWS. so i took a look today at the BEAMS site. and wow, there is not only a dark grey one but another black rough suede too with style number # 8805. what a luck, both are sold out. pics | BEAMS

BOOT OF THE DAY | #142 | RED WING SHOES IRISH SETTER 9877

and again the japanese: found this awesome IRISH SETTER at THREEWOOD one of the best RED WING SHOE experts and shops in asia. damn, this is a golden brown beauty. compared to the iconic RWS #877 with its oro-iginal leather the 9877 has a GOLD RUSSET ”SEQUOIA” leather. and this fits this boot so good. so nice – exciting. the hardware is silver colored and the laces are made of leather. the RED WING logo is missing but therefore there is the old school type at top of the boot. and the tongue is IRISH SETTER labeled inside. if you are interested don’t hesiitate to order your moc toe RWS at THREEWOOD. they organize it with RAKUTEN. some months ago i bought some japan exclusive RWS engineer boots and it was a smooth business. pics | THREEWOOD

RED WING SHOES x BURG & SCHILD COLLABORATION | THE BLACK LOGGER BOOT #2007

nearly on this day in three weeks on the 20th of october berlin based BURG & SCHILD will celebrate their 5th anniversary. KAY, SHANE and the shop staff did something really special for this celebration day: they created four exclusive and strictly limited articles in collaboration with EDWIN, STETSON INDIGOFERRA and RED WING SHOES – THE BLACK COLLECTION. respect – i like those activities! this shows me the passion and respect for the products the people have running a store like BURG & SCHILD. especially the BLACK LOGGER #2007 is a big thing for me and i think for the B&S guys it is the highlight of the BLACK COLLECTION. at this moment the boot is a top secret. so i just can show you an illustration how this black beauty will look a like. below you see a classic black RWS logger from the 70ies. beside some other facts: strictly limited to 99 pairs (sorry, 100, but i reserved one for LIFE TIME GEAR), made of black star leather with matt finished gold hardware, a RWS neoprene cord sole you know from the 2268 engineer and a 8″ height like iconic  #899. the base of the look was a boot KAY found on a flea market near joshua tree some time ago. RWS gave the shoe the style number #2007, the founding year of BURG & SCHILD. in german we say “großes kino”. exciting! the boot will be launched at the anniversary date on 20th of october 2012. pics | Burg & Schild, Berlin; LOST&FOUND

this is a vintage lineman RED WING boot from the 1970s. style #699. maybe the #2007 will have a similar character. very nice. not for pussies …

PANERAI STRAP BY LONAN RANGER ORIGINALS | WATCH STRAPS FOR RED WING SHOE LOVERS

thx RON for receiving this exciting letter today – the first one i got from the famous ISLE OF MAN – and thank you so much for the fantastic content: a handmade heavy leather watch strap for my PAM i just got back from repairing and revision. so awesome because of the unusual stitchings and the special color that fits my oro-iginal RED WING BOOTS 877 and 875 perfect. the strap is made out of natural veg tanned leather hide that was hand cut, hand dyed and hand stitched by RON himself. and i love the bright buckle because it fits the PAM more than perfect. damn, perfect d’artisan work and RON does it as a hobby – unbelievable. i do not know what he does in real life but the strap looks absolutely professional made. so i changed the actual strap to the LONAN RANGER ORIGINAL at once and please take a look at the pics: GREAT! beside, THE LONAN RANGER ORIGINAL is a play on THE LONE RANGER because RON lives in LONAN on the ISLE OF MAN. RON, thank you so much again. i will keep you updated about the look of the strap when aging. pics | LTG
