1st of may is off in germany: so called labor day. so there was time to visit the US AND CLASSIC CAR MEETING of frankfurt, germany, located car club PEP CARS. saw a lot of old and new CAMAROS, my favorite us car, and some nice other stuff. always great to hear V8 engines roaring and bubbling, smelling petrol and oil. bad pics | LTG

what a beauty in black & yellow this 1968 DODGE SUPER BEE. just 7842 pieces were built from 1968 to 1970. the SUPER BEE was built as the counterpart of the PLYMOUTH ROAD RUNNER. it is for sale @ www.vanguardmotorsales.com for 29,900 bucks. looks so nice and sounds so good – check the video. the condition looks pretty good. here some facts: from california., numbers Matching 383ci (Casting Number 2468130.7 LL), 727 automatic transmission, rebuilt alternator, optima battery, EDELBROCK carb, factory air car (inoperable, but all parts are present), flo-pro mufflers, new tailpipes, power steering, drum brakes all around, stock rear end, new motor mount, body, inner fenders and firewall nicely painted, beautiful chrome, all original metal undercarriage, in dash tachometer, seatbelts front and rear … awesome … pics & video | Vanguard Motor Sales
what’s better on a grey monday morning than discovering a rockin’ new album of a band i did not know 5 minutes ago? after starting SPOTIFY i checked some news about artists and music like every morning. nice discovery: TRACER here are they with there new and 3rd album EL PISTOLERO. some inspirations for this new album came from ROBERT RODRIGUEZ film “DESPERADO” – you’ll hear it. wow: blasting. 50 minutes straight stoner, 70s, hard and – we call it – “SCHWEINE” rock. awake now completely. MICHAEL BROWN (guitar and vocals), JETT (bass and vocals) and ANDRE WISE are TRACER from australia. in june they will play 3 shows in berlin, munich and cologne, germany. have a rockin’ good week … ! pics | © TRACER
2 days ago i got the first DMAX mag into my letterbox. DMAX MAGAZINE – LIFE, MOTORS, ADVENTURE. exciting – i took a first peak and … i was and i am a little bit disappointed. loving the DMAX stories on TV the magazine seems to be anxious to switch the moods from the tv stories to the pages – in my eyes this does not work. the layout is mainstream, no passion. they say: A NEW MAGAZINE FOR REAL MEN … sorry, the layout is absolutely not made for “real men”, so compatible without a feeling about a “real men” layout. what do i mean? no dirt, no sweat, no trouble, no smell for petrol and oil, no noise … nothing. and unfortunately everything but not “alone standing”. with the writing it is the same: pure mainstream. the hints at the article HAMBURG – EINE STADT FÜR ECHTE KERLE … mainstream. the SINN watches article – what a terrible story opener for such a label with heritage. damn. no. DMAX did not use the opportunity to do something new “FOR REAL MEN”. what a pity, just another f***ing lifestyle magazine for “leisure-tough-guys”. i will get the next 2 issues too because of ordering a mini subscription. maybe something will change. pics | LTG

wow, speed shipping: yesterday afternoon i ordered this anchor printed vest from one of my favorite labels ENGINEERED GARMENTS @ THE BUREAU BELFAST, ireland. this noon, 30 minutes ago the FEDEX man ringed the bell and gave me the box with the vest and the last issue of INVENTORY MAGAZINE. what a wonderful oxford cotton vest with cinch back, slanted chest pocket and 2 lower patch pockets. as every EG piece made in NEW YORK. not onlay another anchor piece, but an extraordinary one! pics | LTG
one of my absolute favorites of my boot & shoe cupboards: the 1912 introduced MAIN HUNTING SHOE. this boot was LEON LEONWOOD BEAN’S very first product. it is a pity, the one i own is just a bit too small. the boot fits only with very thin socks and so the comfort is not the best when walking some time. i think i had to change the boot in a one size up bigger one. good to know that this boot isn’t so expensive at all. an absolutely must-have boot: an american icon which is still handstitched and checked for quality right there in MAINE! pics | LTG
