There are some great news from CROOTS ENGLAND. Just yesterday their relaunched website went online. Respect, well done! Take a look at some screenshots or even better just visit crootsengland.co.uk, I’m sure you’ll like it. Some days before I got a lot of new pictures shot by Hamburg based photographer Joern Pollex. I picked some shots from the recently introduced and very well received full veg-tanned cowhide stuff that ages beautifully. Available at bags & luggage like the Laptop Bag or the Flight Bag as well as in small leather goods like wallets, cardholders, eyeglass and sunglass cases and sturdy belts with either brass or stainless steel buckles. For sure all proudly made in Northern Yorkshire, UK. Trade buyers can see the full new collection at Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence 13. – 16. June or in the showroom of amtraq.com in Frankfurt. The stuff is also available online @ crootsengland.co.uk.

FEINSCHMUCK LOOKBOOK by JOERN POLLEX
Yesterday i got a nice looking envelop with my daily post. Love this: a real hand written message brought by my postman to the letterbox. It was from JOERN POLLEX, well known as a great photographer located in Hamburg, Germany. He send me the new lookbook from FEINSCHMUCK which he photographed and did the layout – in short: a fantastic work. As a frequently reader of LTG blog you know that I am a great fan of FEINSCHMUCK from the first hour on. And now with this very well done lookbook all the work from MANFRED, MARIA and ALEX is packed into a perfect media to hand out and to look at. JOERN did everything right to arrange the best mood and feeling corresponding to the FEINSCHMUCK stuff. You can watch the whole lookbook with this link FEINSCHMUCK LOOKBOOK. It is a pdf including all sites. I wanted to show you real pics not just the pdf and so i did just some example shots of sites which i liked most. Again: great job JOERN. pics | LTG
NEW YORK CITY BROOKLYN SOAP COMPANY | TURNING REGULAR DUDES INTO DAPPER GENTLEMEN.
i was really surprised when i got the package full of these utmost organic grooming products from the BROOKLYN SOAP COMPANY. rarely i got such a tasteful packed box and not to mention the look of the bottles – awesome! one of the best designs of grooming products i ever saw. and every bottle has its own handwritten paper which person from the company filled it up and a hand stamped date how long the product can be used – love this! this means something personal and human to me in this f***ing fast digital and cursory times. all products are “cooked home-style” with natural and organic ingredients. the statement “born in brooklyn – made in germany”, in HAMBURG, i do not understand really – couldn’t find any information about this. hm, anyway all products are developed and made in germany. the ingredients, even the bottles and the other hardware come from german manufactures. for more information please check their site. i got the bodywash, shampoo and beardwash – all products are since 3 days in use. the beard and the bodywash work perfect and the smell is really exciting fresh but at the same so smooth and cushy. with the shampoo i am a bit doubtful because i am using pomade, LAYRITE, a water soluble one, but i have to work it out hard. maybe i just have to take some more shampoo, hotter water … – i don’t know, i will test it. it is a pity that the pomade and the deodorant are sold out; curios to test these too. beside, in 2014 the company won the REDDOT AWARD – congrats! pics | LTG

PHOTOGRAPHER JOERN POLLEX FOR AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION | HAMBURG HARBOR SHOOTING PART I
HAMBURG based photographer JOERN POLLEX send me some really great pics from a shooting he did for UWE E. MAIER c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION four weeks ago. i got so many beautiful pics that i decided to show you tomorrow some more and a making of video. some facts about JOERN: he learnt photographing at the age of 12 from his father. starting 30 years ago with that famous analog camera CANON A1 – i have had the same – he developped the photos in his own darkroom. JOERN did an education as a photographer and worked for GETTY IMAGES. since january 2014 he works as a freelancer. the AMTRAQ shooting was completely done by JOERN from the location search, model casting to picture editing and post production. FRANK PETER was his assistant and UWE E. MAIER did the styling himself. compliment guys: you all did a perfect job! more pics follow tomorrow. pics | JOERN POLLEX

RED WING SHOES | THE 9877 IRISH SETTER vs THE 877
i am really happy to get one of 60 pairs that came strictly limited to europe, because this boot is an absolut must-have-collector-item. the boot is only available @ RED WING STORES. thx KAY from RW STORE BERLING & HAMBURG for reserving the boot. the 9877 was previously sold in JAPAN beside some other styles in that beautiful color: SEQUOIA GOLD. i did a post in october 2011: BOOT OF THE DAY | #91 | LIMITED RED WING BOOT 9871. the 9877 features some details of the first IRISH SETTER production in 1952. so the SEQUOIA colored leather is the original one followed by the famous oro-iginal. only at the top of right boot there are stamped RED WING letters: no corporate wing logo on the boot except the sole which is exactly the same on both boots. inside the 9877 there is the old version of the IRISH SETTER tag – beautiful! boot and RED WING SHOE experts sure will notice the square stitched corners where the leather is fixed to the tongue – an outstanding detail. the boot comes with heavy leather laces and in a wonderful IRISH SETTER labeled box. by the way, the 877 has on another very nice detail: on every eyelet the letters RED WING are engraved. the 877 will leave my collection. my friend PZ will adopt this really nice walked in boot. so i know these boots will be in good hands … pics | LTG
NEW DMAX MAGAZIN – JUST ANOTHER LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE
2 days ago i got the first DMAX mag into my letterbox. DMAX MAGAZINE – LIFE, MOTORS, ADVENTURE. exciting – i took a first peak and … i was and i am a little bit disappointed. loving the DMAX stories on TV the magazine seems to be anxious to switch the moods from the tv stories to the pages – in my eyes this does not work. the layout is mainstream, no passion. they say: A NEW MAGAZINE FOR REAL MEN … sorry, the layout is absolutely not made for “real men”, so compatible without a feeling about a “real men” layout. what do i mean? no dirt, no sweat, no trouble, no smell for petrol and oil, no noise … nothing. and unfortunately everything but not “alone standing”. with the writing it is the same: pure mainstream. the hints at the article HAMBURG – EINE STADT FÜR ECHTE KERLE … mainstream. the SINN watches article – what a terrible story opener for such a label with heritage. damn. no. DMAX did not use the opportunity to do something new “FOR REAL MEN”. what a pity, just another f***ing lifestyle magazine for “leisure-tough-guys”. i will get the next 2 issues too because of ordering a mini subscription. maybe something will change. pics | LTG
best layouted page of the whole mag:
