2 new knives join my knife collection. Again 2 knives from my friends @ PassionFrance®. I am not a big fan of LAGUIOLE knives but when I saw this piece made with an INOX handle I knew it was a must-have. I like the cold and square-edged grip of this cool and clean knife a lot. Take a look at the smart ornaments, clear lines. It is about 11cm long when it is closed with a welded bee. The Sandwik blade is rust free. Hi guys, long time no blog … I am sorry, but my real life needs me: toooooo much work, a lot of trouble the last weeks. I hope it will get better now. Yesterday I wore these amazing customized ALDEN x VOLLS INDY BOOTS for the first time after customized by INGO KELLER who runs SCHUHGOTT in Cologne, Germany. And I must tell you, that these boots were much more comfortable to wear than before: great walking. I bought these ALDEN x VOLLS cooperation boot 2 years ago and I wore it just several times. I am not a friend of “just leather soles”. I know that a lot of you will say “Damn this boot looks quiet smarter with a pure leather sole”, but I didn’t like it. I wore too often work boots and heavy western boots. When I wear a boot or a shoe with a leather sole I have the feeling wearing ballet shoes, not to mention about the grip. INGO put classic DAINITE sole and heel under a double leather sole construction and I love the look now – and the comfortably. A really clean and perfect work for my now daily ALDEN. He guys maybe you remember a blog post from July 2015 when I introduced the BUTTS AND SHOULDERS boots. Some days ago my buddy Wouter Munnichs c/o BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and LONG JOHN blog told me that the production of these so nice boots started. After a testing phase on the streets and a lot of positive reactions, they start the first production run which will bring strictly limited 100 pairs to you. These boots are all hand numbered with a unique number – special – great idea, I like this a lot! The Boots are made of natural tanned leather in a small factory in Portugal – for sure made by hand with the “Goodyear Welted” construction. Hi guys, first blog post 2016. I am sorry, but work was so hard and busy the first days of the new year. After a complete working through weekend it was such a pleasure to get a big parcel from SOUL OBJECTS BERLIN as a present – yes, as a present – this monday. What a superb surprise! Thank you so much soul sisters and brothers Melanie Rieman, Kornelius Werhahn-Mees and Oliver Hausner you made me really happy this day. What a perfect start for this week. And the best is, that I will have fun for weeks with this stuff. I noticed that the soul family send a lot of new products I do not know by now – exciting. I will try everything hard and tell you about the stuff at Life Time Gear. I am really curios about the new pomades from The Iron Society, Brooklyn. I got them all – 3 different sorts … YES! Also the products from The Brighton Beard Company make me very curios. Isn’t the design of the tins, the soap and the bags nice? A nice key holder is a must. I own a lot of keys to put in order: several keys for home, office … my beloved Orange Beast and the car of my wife. All keys get hold be a LEDERLING (engl. Leather thing) hand made by EMMA OPITZ. These nice helper are made completely by hand in a little manufacture in Berlin, Germany. Every piece of EMMA OPITZ is a one of a kind, always a bit different from the one done before. The owner of EMMA OPITZ, Marc Türkheim, learned the famous knot that holds all this LEDERLINGE together by his grandma – it is a nice story! You can get several types of key holder and other leather accessories. The big ones I own are called “Bismark“ and the small one is a special custom thing which was made for KAMI, owner of B74. He gave me this key holder as a present – damn, I like this so much! The 2 “Bismarks” I got from volls.de. I own a lot of knives but not such a nice combination: The ONDURA pocketknife with its so well done pancake holster – an absolute must have for men loving knives, collecting knives … The knife is a simple classic German pocketknife, which was developed and produced by famous OTTER-Messer Company in Solingen/Germany. For ONDURA it was really important to get a knife which is made complete traditionally here in Germany. The blade length is 100 mm and made of carbon steel. For safety reasons it is fitted with a backlock. The handles are so nice to touch – in German we call this a “Handschmeichler” –, these are made from olive wood with a nice texture. The brass ONDURA bear in the inlay is not just nice to watch: the bear on the knife and the bear on the holster must be covered by each other – there is only one way to put the knife into the holster: bear over bear. This works perfect! The “pancake” holster is made of two 4mm thick vegetal tanned leather layers It is clued, sewed and riveted, mould and decorated with the ONDURA bear branding. The edges are brushed and polished. ONDURA offers also the perfect belt for the holster, the Workman Belt in tan. But I think it fits my vintage DUKES belt as good … Now the holster must age in daily use … exciting about the look it will get. A few days ago I got the 2 bandanas I ordered from SJC. And I got what I expected: 2 awesome, smooth silk pieces, rich colored with wonderful and extraordinary old school graphics. I am really fascinated by the quality of the HARD LUCK & SAILORS DREAM called neckerchiefs. I think if you check the pics below you will feel the smoothness by your eyes. Look at the bright colors. Both are hand finished with rolled edges and stitched in contrasting thread to make the edges pop – love this kind of stitching! With this 2 pieces SIMON started his 2015/16 collection. With the beginning of this week his website got relaunched and is full packed with new stuff … damn had to order one piece more after checking this great stuff of jackets, chinos, shorts and denim. Nice: sold out … @ the WIP CARHARTT online store for Europe this wonderful jacket isn’t available anymore – I like this, because I own on – ha! In spite of the 100% 12oz “Dearborn” canvas the jacket is really smooth and perfect for those early summer days especially in the morning and late evenings.
