PHOTOGRAPHER JOERN POLLEX FOR AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION | HAMBURG HARBOR SHOOTING PART I

HAMBURG based photographer JOERN POLLEX send me some really great pics from a shooting he did for UWE E. MAIER c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION four weeks ago. i got so many beautiful pics that i decided to show you tomorrow some more and a making of video. some facts about JOERN: he learnt photographing at the age of 12 from his father. starting 30 years ago with that famous analog camera CANON A1 – i have had the same – he developped the photos in his own darkroom. JOERN did an education as a photographer and worked for GETTY IMAGES. since january 2014 he works as a freelancer. the AMTRAQ shooting was completely done by JOERN from the location search, model casting to picture editing and post production. LIFE TIME GEAR BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 14 | RED WING SHOES ICONIC STYLE 877

one of my absolute favorite RED WING SHOE styles: the iconic 877 IRIH SETTER. a must-have in every work boot or RED WING SHOES collection. this classic moc toe was introduced in the early 1950s and the first RWS boot which was outfitted with the characteristic white crepe sole. i love especially the long stiches on the side of the boot. in comparison to the #877 the #875 just could be a light version of the “godfather of the RWS moc toe family”. the #877 is often seen on actors and was worn f.ex. by STEVE McQUEEN and JACK NICHOLSON. and because of best fit these guys enjoy the great comfort of the #877 even outside the studios and film locations. this #877 is one of two i own. in my collection there is another vintage one from the 70s in classic oro-russet, irish setter labelled – pics will follow. this one is one of my absolute rarities in my small collection. pics | LTG

RED WING SHOES | THE ANATOMY OF A RWS STYLE 875

this is something for “INSIGHTERS”. hope to show you views which some of you never saw before. last week KLAUS from volls.de gave me this cut of a RWS #875 to do a post if i would like – and for sure, i like. sometimes the insole construction reminds me a tasty sandwich … beside, what a terrible thought when my RWS 875 would be cut in the middle into 2 parts. pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #111 | CAMOUFLAGE RED WING SHOES # 8150

it is years ago i saw this damn, f***ing, fancy boot the first time. i even remember the man who wears this shitty boot: it was PETER HECKMANN and i asked him “what the hell happened to this RED WING 875?” some years later i met KAMI from the RED WING STORE FRANKFURT and owner of B-74 wearing a rugged 8150. and i did not know what to think now about the boot: it was looking strange but really, really cool rugged and vintage like it was. now 3 years later after asking myself several times to own this boot or not i bought it some weeks ago. and believe me i am so happy about my 8150. it is really funny seeing the people staring at me feet … i think the RED WING STORE FRANKFURT and B-74 are the only shops worldwide selling this boot. aren’t they? the 8150 is based on a 8138 but the leather is printed with a classic “DUCK HUNTING” camouflage pattern in cooperation with MOSSY OAK®. for even a better camouflage effect you should use brown laces. i am sorry, but there is no information about the history of this boot – nowhere! come on and get one of the last 8150s ever … pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #103 | Red Wing Shoes CRAZY PATTERN

damn, what’s that? these shoes only could be found on a japanese website. there are other great SHOE REPAIR artisans called SILVER-SILVER. at this place i found these really crazy patterned RED WING moc shape of the iconic 875. made from a mix of differnet style colors. the leathers seem to be original RED WING ones. it looks really eye catching. but the idea is not new. YUKETEN did some shoes last summer called “mismatch”. i had a pair but i didn’t like them really. after wearing 3 times i sold them … pics | CREA, japan

RED WING SHOES | “EXCLUSIVE” COPIES ALL AROUND

hm, that’s new. now exclusive and expensive shops are selling – or try to sell –  f***ing RED WING SHOE copies. these were found just 2 days ago in FRANKFURTS MOST EXPENSIVE GOETHESTRASSE at boring ULI KNECHT. some other sorts of this wanna be boot rubbish at BAILLY UND DIEHL. damn, i cannot find a reason why they are selling these shit kickers. some streets ahead there is the mother of RED WING STORES in europe  – since 1977! – and the B-74 managed by KAMI and his team. in any case a better choice for some ingenious boots, denim or anything else we guys love. look at the window cleaner below: yep, what a nice boot! pics | the unknown cowboy – thx!
