A LETTER FROM POPEYE | LTG GOT THE ORIGINAL POPEYE PIPE

last week i got a large letter from POPEYE. hahahahah … ? but, yes, from POPEYE, look at the photo of the letter below. as a constant reader of my blog you know that i am a great POPEYE fan and the best POPEYE accessory i ever got was the talisman which gave MARIA from feinschmuck.de and ALEX from because blog to me some weeks ago. and damn, the POPEYE who send me this awesome MISSOURI MEERSCHAUM CORN COB PIPE was ALEX again. thanks again, ALEX – great idea! and funny, it is some years ago but i was a passionate pipe smoker for about 3 years after i stopped smoking my beloved dark GITANES. i wish, spring will come soon so that i can test the pipe on our terrace over the roofs of DARMSTADT CITY. ALEX gave me a complete small pipe survival kit with the pipe – perfect and well done. thank you. bad pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #162 | 2-TONE RUSSELL MOCCASIN SPORTING CLAYS CHUKKA

today a really exotic looking and extraordinary RUSSELL MOCCASIN CHUKKA in a rich green suede combined with smart sand colored suede leather. the style is named SPORTING CLAYS CHUKKA. RM build this boot in many different versions in point of leathers and soles. it is an iconic RUSSEL chukka boot, for sure made in the USA. this one has a black vibram # 2060 sole combined with these 2 different colored suede leathers – really cool and tough! i like it. maybe not for wearing everyday, but i like it. found at japanese VECK store. pics | VECK

LONESOME DREAMS | AMERICANA by LORD HURON

just looking around some news on SPOTIFY i discovered LORD HURON and his new album LONESOME DREAMS which was released last week in europe. “wonderful hymns to america’s wilderness with a spheric note of FLEET FOXES” writes NEIL SPENCER from THE OBSERVER – a perfect despcription. NEIL also writes: “A folk-rock Thoreau, Michigan’s Ben Schneider has a near mystical vision of America’s wilderness, a place of peaks and prairies, “sacred dunes” and rivers that “wind on for ever”. The production of his debut is appropriately epic, its echoing acoustic guitars and yearning,  Fleet Foxy vocals mixed with cowboy cattle calls and Pawnee chants. Communion with nature and the quest for the ideal woman are joined on She Lit a Fire and Ends of the Earth, there are playful nods to wild west “dime novels”, while gamelan bells and sitars appear unexpectedly in the sonic torrent. LTG FAVORITES #86 | FRANKINCENSE FRAGRANCE – RUNDHOLZ PERFUME

as you know i am a great fan of PORTLAND GENERAL STORE’S WHISKEY fragrance. long before i discovered this one i took strong frankincense fragrances from COMME DE GARCONS INCENSE SERIES 3 and MONOCLE. there is another one i won’t explain – a kind of secret. but this week i discovered RUNDHOLZ PARFUMS – 03. APR. 1968 at great AUS LIEBE ZUM DUFT store. the “first in fragrance” in germany maybe in europe. just a short description for more check the AUS LIEBE ZUM DUFT SITE: “Incense, its scent is mystical considered as divine in Japan whole ceremonies are dedicated to it, in the Orient it started the art of perfumery and it was also the beginning of Lenka Rundholz’ vision, to create a unique fragrance …”  the fragrance composition: topnote – Lychee, heartnote – Heliotrope, basenote – Frankincense. the FRANKINCENSE note is so heavy that you have to be careful in use. sensational! i love this mystical heavy smell. pics | LTG

LTG FAVORITES #85 | THE POPEYE TALISMAN by FEINSCHMUCK

at the beginning of november 2012 i met MARIA c/o FEINSCHMUCK and ALEXANDER c/o because blog with UWE from AMTRAQ. MARIA & ALEX gave me a present – the best they could give me as great POPEYE fan from childhood on: an awesome POPEYE TALISMAN made by FEINSCHMUCK. it was so hard not to post this beautiful piece the last weeks because the product launch will be next week at BREAD & BUTTER in berlin at the AMTRAQ stall – but UWE gave me the GO for today. by the way: thanks again so much MARIA & ALEX for this LIFE TIME GEAR. i wear POPEYE nearly every day. beside this medallion FEINSCHMUCK did some other stuff which will be distributed by AMTRAQ. one highlight is the POPEYE BELT. the result of a collaboration between FEINSCHMUCK & TANNER GOODS. check out the other stuff below: vintage western buckles, popeye belt buckles and medallions in different looks and a mega beautifull heavy anchor. all FEINSCHMUCK bronze objects are locally manufactured by a small team in bavaria, germany. i am really excited about the feedback at B&B. pics | LTG &  AMTRAQ

KLAUS VOLL vs. GUNTHER VON HAGEN | BORN ON THE 10TH JAN.

he KLAUS aka MR. BOOT OF THE DAY | #161 | ALDEN 40023 CHROMEXCEL WORKMAN OXFORD

he guys, slowly getting to normality. still massive work in progress but LIFE TIME GEAR needs some new blog posts. so i do: not a boot today but an awesome ALDEN WORKMAN OXFORD. looks like a low cut ALDEN INDY which i found at spring 2011 closed WINN PERRY STORE. as you know i am a great INDY fan and i love oxford shoes with a workman attitude. owning and loving some pairs of different RED WING oxfords styles i must admit that these ALDENs are outstanding. made of brown HORWEEN CHROMEXCEL leather, including 6 matching metal eyelets and a flat 360welt with natural finish and the typical white stitching. the shoe features not the INDY typical neoprene cork sole but a waterlock oiled leather sole. great! pics | WINN PERRY
