Last weekend I went to Krefeld to visit my Soulbrother Michael Uhlemann c/o Cuisine M and his companion in life Sylwie. Micky celebrated his birthday on Saturday at Cuisine M, a very cool and stylish location which is part of the old Krefeld slaughterhouse. I arrived on Friday and did some shots before the party started. In the afternoon I met Micky’s friends Uwe Tauber Maker of Bespoke Leathergoods and his partner Janine. So wonderful people – I got new dear friends! The evening went on with cooking together and a pre-party to hurrah Micky at 00:00! What a relaxed and smooth evening with great food and wines. The party on Saturday was a blast with Micky’s Family and his best friends. And at last I met Ingo Keller c/o Schuhgott, Cologne, and his wife Andrea. Milan and Robert made the perfect music for a perfect evening! It was hard for me to say Good-bye on Sunday after these amazing days with best friends … hope to see you all very soon!

For sure this is not a Life Time Gear piece because of its short use, but it is made for thousands of people not just to have a better life but to survive! Entering the supermarket I saw this cool designed and named toilet paper: “GOLDEIMER” … the english meaning is “Golden Bucket”. Interesting. An illustrated tattooed sailor on the package of toilet paper with this message: “For small and big ones” … “Just sitting down and wipe away? As if! With GOLDEIMER toilet paper you support worldwide sanitarian projects and our vision is jacks for all”. More than a half of the world population has no access to a safe sanitarian support. This means the death of nearly a million people year by year. GOLDEIMER is a social project that gives all future assets to Viva con Agua and Welthungerhilfe. With every GOLDEIMER toilet paper you buy, you support all projects that give access to people worldwide to toilets, water and soap. The toilet paper is certified by German environmental seal “Blauer Engel” which means most power and water saving; for sure this special toilet paper is made of 100% recycled paper. And don’t worry: the sheet covering all the toilet paper rolls is made of 30%  chalk which reduces the CO2 emissions to 30% compared to conventional plastic packages. The sheet is 100% recyclable. And the best and really important: beside all the social benefits GOLDEIMER toilet paper is comfortable in use. Three-ply and tender to your rear;) Life Time Gear tested! And the design of Germany’s first social toilet paper is just perfect!

You all know that I am addicted to TELLASON. And I am so happy and satisfied with my beloved pairs of Gustave styles in different ounces, but, damn, this piece of denim Uwe E. Maier c/o Amtraq Distribution gave me last week is the best. I love this “Ladbroke Grove”, named after a quarter of London where The Clash frontman Joe Strummer grew up, slim tapered fit in 18oz pink selvedge denim from the mill Collect Kojima in Japan from the first wear on. What a perfect fit with this 18oz.! It is a limited edition made for the 10th anniversary of Tellason (TEN), made in San Francisco, Cal., USA. So special, because only 150 pieces were produced and just 115 pieces were shipped to Europe. And me I am a lucky one … because I got one! Be fast to get one of the 114 that are left … Get your pair at VMC Originals, Zürich, or ask Amtraq Distr. for more stockists ›› mail@amtraq.com. This is not just another piece of Life Time Gear … no, it is a really special piece of Life Time Gear!!!

Yesterday I was part of this wonderful event at Red Wing Frankfurt, the oldest and first Red Wing Shoe Store outside the USA since 1977. To all, who did not take part at this event, I am really sorry to say, that you missed something really special. All customers were so happy to take a look how Eleonora took care for their boots and shoes. And she brought such a fresh and personal Italian spirit to the Store – this was just amazing. It was a perfect day meeting a lot of friends and for sure making some new friends to the great Red Wing family! More pics will follow soon.

Every morning after I pulled on my Tellason denim, I put a knife into the right front pocket and a comb to the left back pocket. As using pomade daily a good working comb is a-must-have for me. And since decades I am looking for the perfect comb. Sometimes I thought I found the one I was looking for, but I was never perfectly satisfied. But since I got my Ondura Durable Goods combs I think I can stop looking for the perfect comb. The combs lie perfect in the hand and it makes me every time smile when I use one of these beauties, because they work best. Not to heavy, not to light – just perfect. The combs are made of real horn and each one is unique by its color, signed with a small Ondura logo on one side. And what I like most is that every comb comes in a special leather case. I can’t stop touching these … The cases are available in 3 color ways: tan, brown and black and I can’t tell you what I like most. They are made of 1.5 mm thick high quality natural vegetable tanned calf leather. Very nice! I am really excited about the patina the cases will show by using them hard. You can feel that this comb and case combination is made to last. And the size is perfect too: 15 cm x 5 cm x ca. 1 cm fits every back pocket very well. This is what I mean when I am talking about “LIFE TIME GEAR”! You’ll find these and other great stuff at: www.ondura.de

Two weeks ago Red Wing Heritage released the new Wacouta Collection which includes 2 Boots, 2 backpacks and 4 pouches. Following in the tradition of the Wabasha, a widely-celebrated moccasin-style Red Wing boot from the mid 2000s, the Wacouta is an outdoor leisure-inspired boot. Five miles south of Red Wing, Minnesota, along the banks of the Mississippi River, Wacouta Township is the site of a cabin that has been in the Red Wing family for three generations.

The Wacouta Boot is a casual lifestyle boot that blends premium Red Wing leather with waxed canvas from the longstanding American manufacturer, Fairfield Textiles. The mixed materials combine to create a supremely comfortable moccasin-inspired shoe. Built on a Honeywheat outsole with stitch-down construction the Wacouta’s lightweight flexibility makes for miles of comfort.

The Backpacks are inspired by classic packs, with construction and material updates that provide modernized comfort and lasting durability. Red Wing leather waxed canvas and solid brass buckles and rivets create a backpack that’s visually striking and supremely functional. Designed to match Wacouta footwear styles the Wacouta Backpack is distinguished in its details. Waxed canvas and Oil-Tanned leather deliver water resistance and durability while reinforced stitching and heavyweight leather straps ensure each pack is up for the rigors of everyday hauling.

The Wacouta Gear Pouches blend striking form with everyday functionality. Red Wing leather and American-made  waxed canvas and hardware make for years of reliable, utilitarian use. Available in 2 sizes each style.

Maybe you heard about it: in 2020 a new Defender will be launched. But this one will be far away from the Defenders of yesterday that were built till 2015. So what’s about this incredible 1991 Land Rover Defender 110 with a V8 engine. “Imported from the UK and breathing through a 3.5-Liter V8, this right-hand-drive model sends power through a five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. This 110 also sits on a two-inch suspension lift and BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires. The inside is as bare as you like it with simple blue cloth upholstery. This Defender isn’t an out-of-this-world restomod or a faithful numbers matching model, but it’s just the right amount of classic with a few tame updates to make it more capable. (Gear Patrol).” To maximize your appetite on this blue classic monster Defender check up the pics of the ugly 2020 Defender below. For more information check the great Blog-site of Gear Patrol.
