damn, found an envelop with the LONG JOHN print on it – what a surprise. exciting, what’s inside? great it’s a shirt: the LONG JOHN X GO STERK & BLENDOMATIC tribute shirt to MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE. what a nice idea, what a wonderful high quality LEE shirt with a tasteful sailing ship print. The Long John platform stands for authenticity so we love this old way
of sending messages. This bottle ‘enveloppe’ goes back centuries and
was used by a lot of people on the sea.
In the 16th century, the English navy used message in a bottle to send ashore information about enemy positions. And during World War I soldiers used bottles to send
last messages to their loved ones.
A great story from May 2005 is about eighty-eight shipwrecked migrants at the coast of Costa Rica. They had placed a S.O.S. message in a bottle and tied it to one of the long lines of a passing fishing boat. They were all rescued!
The oldest message in a bottle was travelling more than 98 years in the sea
and was picked-up by a Scottish fisherman in 2012.

what a great piece i found yesterday @ volls.de. last year i saw the JOMO denim stuff the first time at summer BREAD & BUTTER, berlin, and i was really excited about the vest and the jackets … and i knew that i will take the vest when it arrives at the stores. love the two different colors of this really dark blue nearly black raw denim stuff. as we know from JOMO all stuff is MADE IN THE USA. time to rock this stiff piece. pics | LTG

a lot of rain the last days here in the heart of germany. good to have the right hat for these f**king rainy days. years ago i bought those on SYLT, germany: classic bucket hats from BARBOUR. these head ware never gets out of style. okay, maybe you should to be a bit brave to wear these hats looking a kind of nasty, but really casual at the same time. whatever these hats are useful! one is blue and the the other one olive colored. both hats can be turned inside out to classic check patterns. made of wax cotton. pics | LTG

LIFE TIME GEAR GOT A NEW CHEVROLET CAMARO

today there was a day off: father’s day in germany. little LEVI, my wife and me drove to SINSHEIM AUTO & TECHNIK MUSEUM to watch some vintage planes, tanks, cars and trains. always a good plan! and the best: the museum has a great souvenir shop. so i got a new CHEVROLET CAMARO Z28 from 1968 for my die cast collection scale 1:18 . f*** what a wonderful car, what a nice die cast … i love CAMAROs. pics | LTG and chevroletwallpaper.com

“DRECKIG BLEIBEN” … STAY DIRTY … EAU DE PARFUM

when i saw KLAUS c/o volls.de this monday, he gave me DRECKIG BLEIBEN to smell. KLAUS knows that i prefer intensive heavy weight insence parfums – no wonder i come from a very catholic region … so i tried DRECKIG BLEIBEN. the first impression: great! it is not frankincense i smell, but it is heavy and very smoky – good. the makers of this parfum describe the fragrance like this: “DRECKIG BLEIBEN opens with a harmonious note drawn of bergamot from Calabria, neroli oil from Tunisia, Sicilian mandarin and Chinese ginger. Its heart brings together the scents of the smoky oil of the cistus, of gurjum oil and of elemi, the oil of the balsam tree. The base consists of earthy cedarwood, the oil of the guaiacum tree, sandalwood and vanilla.” very masculine. the smell turns after some hours into a smooth nearly sweet fragrance, really exciting. the flacon is very nice too. the wooden top is handmade from centuries-old wood, won from timber-framed houses. and really practicable: it is double closed with a classic spray flacon. interesting, the maker of the fragance MARK BUXTON worked for COMME DES GARCONS who still make one of my absolutely favorite fragrances the SERIES 3 INCENSE. more about DRECKIG BLEIBEN, the idea, the people behind check dreckigbleiben.com. it is available at volls.de. not online yet, but soon. and hurry up, DRECKIG BLEIBEN is limited to 999 pieces! made in france. pics | LTG

GANT | THIS IS WHAT I CALL A SHOPPING BAG

last saturday my wife took me to the new GANT flagstore in frankfurt / main, germany, to check some GANT RUGGER stuff for SS/2013. there she bought a really nice GANT NAVAL SHIRT and so she got this so fucking perfect shopping bag. unusual to find so high quality and sophisticated done shopping bags. printed inside with historical stories and pictures, a blue sky on the ground, closed with a real button hold by a denim strap and a smart embossed GANT logotype – really well done. very nice the wash and care instructions card. pics | LTG

as you know i am a RWS SUPERSOLE BOOTS lover. i own a black 8133, a red 8804 and, thx KAMI, a tan suede 8118. this damn fucking nice blue, we call this RWS SUPERSOLE boot style  “FRANKFURTER”, was made by RED WING SHOES in collaboration with BEAMS for their AW 2012 collection. japanese LONG-LOOP offers one piece left in a US 9D for just 217 euros – a really good price for this extraordinary boot. pics | LONG-LOOP
