@ first some really great news for all RWS aficionados: The Online Store of Red Wing Shoe Store Frankfurt, Germany, has reopened after a complete relaunch: www.redwingfrankfurt.com! And I love this clean graphic style so much. I do not want to see the 877th rugged or vintage look-a-like page. Complements. Kami you did a perfect job with your team! So we did a test shopping some days before the shop went online … the result was the brand new limited RED WING #8882 – a perfect online order: Ordered in the morning and the next day the boot arrived. The online order process itself is very simple, fast and smooth … it works!

Constant readers of LTG Blog know that I like blue RWS a lot. Two years ago I got the indigo colored classic work #8100 Oxford from Japan and I still love it. The #8882 is the same shoe just 6″ high like the classic #875, moc toed, made of Indigo Portage Leather and completed by the Traction Tred Cushion Crepe Wedge. Very nice is the brown ending of the bootleg – a small detail, but I love the contrast between the rich blue and brown leather. Another nice feature: you don’t get only the standard Red Wing Shoe Laces but a second pair made of leather. The leather laces look very nice but for me these are not so practical. HAND-DYED NATURAL INDIGO BANDANAS by ATELIER FUER BLAUDRUCK

some months ago i went to a nice artisan market in ASCHAFFENBURG, germany. there i found these wonderful triangle bandanas at a small and unremarkable stall. HOLGER STARCKEN is a so called BLAUDRUCKMEISTER and does all his wonderful stuff by hand. BLAUDRUCK (blue printing) has a more than 400 years old tradition in germany and is continued by the STARCKEN ATELIER which is located near BERLIN, germany. this BLAUDRUCK method can compared to batik dyeing. HOLGER STARCKEN is so cool, so unagitated. he does not need all this heritage and vintage odds and ends at his stall; his products speak for their selves – great!  i will visit STARCKEN again at 08th to 09th of november in  OFFENBACH at “Sammelsurium”. the site of the BLAUMACHER AUS BERLIN isn’t so nice and informative … but take a peek to learn more about BLAU MACHEN. pics | LTG

VINTAGE LEVI’S RED JEANS FOUND | PART II “HOLDEN”

this is the second pair of LEVI’S RED denim i found in my box. the “HOLDEN” must be from 2003 or earlier. it has a wide carpenter fit, a classic workpant with no backriser and a high hem. straight leg, bearing two unequal slash pockets and knife pocket on the left side leg, black sew-on suspender buttons and uneven belt loops. this HOLDEN is made from 10oz sulphur-dyed twill fabric which gives this special light blue color and worn out look. unfortunately the jeans got marks from storage – i do not know how this could happen. found the same HOLDEN but brand new in japan for 340 US $. it is apitty that it got a bit too small … pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #180 | VANS VAULT OG Sk8-Hi DONALD TRUE BLUE

okay, this is definitely not a boot but a wonderful sneaker for me as a great DISNEY fan. found this classic VANS VAULT SK8-HI @ TRÉS BIEN. the sneaker is a collaboration style with DISNEY and features all the things a SK8-HI stands for: “Front section and tongue in smooth suede with side sections in contrasting patterned canvas. Leather and textile lining. Contrasting laces. Suede back section. Leather details on the sides. Sits on a customized white waffle rubber sole …” wonderful. maybe they will do one day a FANTOMIAS SK8-HI – then i had to make a decision: buying or not 😉 pics | TRÉS BIEN (shoe), LTG
