JUST SOME X-MAS PRESENT IDEAS | #09 TELLASON W10 LONG SLEEVE SINGLE POCKET SHIRT

Damn, aren’t these nice? This week Uwe E. Mair c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION gave me the new SINGLE POCKET LONG SLEEVE SHIRT by TELLASON in two different versions. The shirt is based on a dress shirt from the 1950s which TONY PATELLA, founder and co-owner of TELLASAON, got in his vintage collection. I love this authentic old-school look, with that big, masculine collar, one front pocket and the “heavy duty” finish. The dark navy one is made of an unwashed 7.5oz twill from japan. Take a look at the Corozo (ivory nut) buttons – so nice. The stripped shirt is made of a Cone Mills White Oak vintage reproduction 100% cotton fabric. Its look is smarter and the wear is it too … not so heavy duty. The fabric has a softer touch – very comfortable and a great look with its stripes. Same cut, but tow different wonderful shirts – both Made in San Francisco, California. For your last xmas buys check the TELLASON site. JACK/KNIFE | REVERSIBLE JACKETS PART II: MELTON WOOL & DEADSTOCK JAPANESE SELVEDGE DENIM

sorry for delay! it doesn’t took one day to show the other great reversible JACK/KNIFE jacket but a week. too much work, a f***ing cold … but here it is: the second J/K jacket made of 12oz. linen japanese selvedge denim and 13oz melton navy wool. i loved the touch of this piece when i had it at my office for taking the photos – just great. the buttons are so nice: hand carved and dyed for 3 times in indigo for a rich deep blue that will patina over time to reveal the natural ash wood look. the construction is 100 % the same as the J/K tweed jacket: a real reversible jacket that features vereything for both ways of carrying. no more words about the strictly limitation – you know this …

SPIEWAK GOLDEN FLEECE @ VOLLS.DE

when i went to the post office yesterday i did a short turn to VOLLS, checking some new stuff KLAUS got the last days. i was really excited about the new SPIEWAK GOLDEN FLEECE jackets. especially the WAXED DECK JACKETS i like a lot. these DECK JACKETS were some of the most favorite jackets for the US FORCES in the 1940s. SPIEWAK was the official manufacturer of the us navy and air force and so the first maker of the nowadays famous and classic deck jackets. they are available in classic olive and navy blue with a shearling collar. both are made of waxed cotton. the camouflage jacket is an absolute damn f***ing must-have item. it is really special but so nice. i am sorry that i don’t have any more informations about it – i was flashed that i forgot to ask KLAUS about some facts. check volls.de, i think the jacket will be soon online in KLAUS’ shop – the deck jackets are online right now. the down filled AVIATION SNORKEL PARKAS are a contemporary interpretation of the famous and classic N3-B PARKAs from the 1950s. these are nice too but mainly useful with their TEFLON coated, wind and water resistant outer fabrics and a lot of other practically features and details. LTG BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 24 | THE REAL McCOY’S FIELD SHOES N-1

after a five months break i will continue my LTG BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION series. the boot today is really outstanding and this not only because of the price – this one is so well done and crafted. it is a replica of the N-1 official US NAVY BOOT during WWII, which was called the “BOONDOCKER”. the people at REAL McCOY’S found an original boot which was really hard to find. and from this boot they took all the specifications and made a – sorry for me – one of the most perfect boots, you can get today. love the triple stitching details and enjoy the perfect fitting day by day. i got my boots from volls.de but he did not put these nice pieces online. another option here in europe is superdenim in the UK. important: size down half a number (US size). pics | LTG

RED WING SHOES | CUSTOMIZED POSTMAN #101

yes, yes, yes – this is it! i love the #101 – the POSTMAN. my first pair was a present from KLAUS c/o VOLLS.DE. i know this post is something special for shoe nerds … but sorry, this is a RED WING SHOE for real RED WING LOVERS and not for fashion pussies! and the best: the customized #101 means for me one step further. hm, what do you think? would you prefer the one with the original cushion sole or the customized #101 one with the nitrile black cork sole, you may know f.ex. from RED WING’S black IRON RANGER #8114? i love the #101 look with this heel construction. it reminds me a classic U.S. navy officer shoe. but i like both and i won’t give one of them away because for me they are different shoes. KAMI c/o RED WING SHOE STORE FRANKFURT/GERMANY made the customized #101 for me. i can’t remember if the first miles with the original #101 hurt so much as they do with the customized one. damn. everyday i wear them just a few hours indoor and i am happy to get them off. but … it’s okay. the day will come when they got broken – this shoe is worth the trouble! pics | LTG

PATTERNED SUMMER SHIRTS

the weather forecast told us, that there will be rain and thunderstorms today in middle germany and that the next days will be about 20°C. okay, there was some rain and low winds that blow the 37°C from this morning away. for 1 hour we have had about 22°C, and now at 5 PM it is nearly 30°C again. so the next days i think it’s good to know some colored short sleeved shirts in the cupboard. here some of my favorites. as you see: i love patterned shirts. pics | LTG
