LTG CAP & HAT COLLECTION | 06 | THE MARK McNARY HARRIS TWEED BASEBALL CAP

saw this cap and i knew i must have it, because i like HARRIS TWEED stuff so much. this began with my first NIGEL CABOURN TENZING JACKET in 2008. i like the grip and the function of this great fabric from scotland. damn, this cap was online @ CALIROOTS on monday. on tuesday all items were sold. no wonder … the cap is MADE IN USA, has an absolute classic look, you can wear it with a rounded visor (as i do) or contemporary flat, inside there is a leather stripe, so the fit is perfect even if you sweat. the color is a dark woolen blue – perfect. and the best, no McNARY logo outside – just the nice usual HARRIS TWEED label in fornt of the cap. one of my absolute favorites and sorry, couldn’t find it anymore, anywhere in the www. pics | LTG

just some minutes ago these news reached me from RED WING HERITAGE europe. i must confess that i am not the greatest fan of the IRON RANGER. i like the look, but from the first time on i saw this boot i knew it will be something for the masses. i owned one that i sold after a short time to a good friend, seeing this boot too often. but i although must confess that this CHOCOLATE MULESKINNER is really mega nice. this is what RW HERITAGE says about the boot: “Red Wing Shoes’ popular Iron Ranger boots are inspired by the style Red Wing Shoes built in the early 20th century for miners working in the northern Minnesota Iron Range. Mining on the Iron Range was a dangerous job full of hazards and the brave workers who took these jobs required extra protection on their feet. To meet the demands of this type of work Red Wing Shoes designed a boot with a capped toe that was double layered with leather. The heel pocket an extra strip of leather that supports the heel inside the boot  was moved to the outside of the boot for added stability. These design changes provided a seamless boot interior and added durability to the exterior of the boot; necessities for workers on their feet all day in the harsh conditions of the mines. Five years ago this work-inspired design was successfully re-introduced as the Iron Ranger and quickly became a popular style for everyday dress. another hero of my youth found its way to my skin. i read all TINTIN comics. some times ago i started buying all adventures of TIM,STRUPPI and CPT HADOCK as hard cover editions to give them some day to little LEVI. i got this tattoo again by BASTI c/o inkside.de. congratulations to BASTI, he is listed as one of best 100 tattoo artists of germany by the new german magazine PERFECT INK. the SILVER SURFER is left, PRINCE EISENHERZ, PHANTOMAS and the LONE RANGER. you see, my collection is still in progress. bad pics via iPhone | LTG

BEARD OILS FROM OTTER WAX AND MR. BEAR

really funny. i got my beard since 19 years. not always so full as today and the last 5 years but every time more than a mustache. my wife just knows me from photos without having a beard. we are married more than 17 years. but i never found such a lot of beard grooming stuff or styling hints and even men with beards around me than the last 2 years. 2 weeks ago ALEX from because blog send me a wonderful beard soap, i did not tried yet because of the nice look. i wont fuck this up. last friday OLLI THE BARBER gave me the OTTER WAX beard oil for testing. one day before i ordered MR. BEAR BEARD OIL from sweden – that’s life. i did a little comparison of both oils. by the way: if you have a full beard i just can advise you to use an oil. your beard hair is getting smooth and bright. and it is so cool to smell the fresh air blowing up your mind straight from your chin.the package design of OTTER is unbeatable, but the closing of the bottle is really f***ing bad. after in use for 2 times the cover got broken and so you cannot close it correctly any more. MR. BEAR’s bottle design is so shitty that it is really funny and good again. it’s charming – i like it. okay, the bottle looks like a nose drop bottle but the idea with the pump is perfect. so the bottle does not get grease and oily. closing of the bottle works perfect. in use both oils are really great. your beard thanks this grooming to you. it gets a smooth and lightly grip and pleasant log fragrance. OTTER WAX smells so pure for nature: cedar, vetiver, pepper.  you think you walk through a forest by smelling it. MR. BEAR smells natural too but fresher. i got the CITRUS BEAR BREW. the ALL NATURAL OTTER WAX beard oil is made in the USA, MR BEAR comes from sweden. give your beard a try! pics | LTG
