Amazing: there is a new brand available at B74, Frankfurt, GER. A Japanese one named “RINOUMA – MADE IN JAPAN”. They do wonderful bags, wallets, belts and are specialized in brass, using just Japanese manufactured materials only! Traditional work meets contemporary style. Today I will show you the long & short wallet with a fitting key chain and brass hooks. The wallets are made of steer hide leather tanned in Japan. At first the people at RINOUMA tried to make the wallets of Japanese saddle leather, which was nice, but a little bit too hard and stiff for wallets. So they tried to find a more soft feeling leather. They found a leather which is made by a small second generation family tannery, operating since 1921, in Hyogo, which is the most popular leather making prefecture in Japan. There is a clean river and always good winds for drying the leather – a perfect climate. This is the key to the finest quality for RINOUMA’s leather. It is a 3.3 to 3,7 mm thick steer hide leather. Craftsman add oil to the leather by hand for a varnishing finish. So the wallets get this so nice touch and feel. The brown color is also very clean and beautiful dyed. RINOUMA just uses premium Japanese brass parts. The zips run easy and the buttons work perfect. Men, take a look at these nice hooks. The key hook and the one with the wallet chain have a light bend, and so they hang perfect at your belt loop. Hooks and chain are handmade and made of 100% Japanese brass. Chains are manufactured by a vintage “chain-making-machine” older than 50 years. The hooks have such a wonderful matte finish which feels so nice. For me a perfect combination to the short wallet – I love it. AND, every piece is comes in a green paraffin coating canvas sack! What a lucky break. When visiting KAMI c/o B74 in Frankfurt some days ago, i found this nice little wallet lying in a glass cabinet. Didn’t noticed this TANNER GOODS classic before. It is their so called “WORKADAY WALLET” with enough space for many banknotes and a lot of cards. Great to put this little thing in the back pocket of your denim or chino. It is combined with waxed canvas and smooth leather. KAMI told me that there was a special edition which combined leather with this f***ing nice flashy orange hunting canvas. If anyone still has one of these please send me a message – thx. Isn’t the combination with my vintage TANNER GOODS card holder great? I wanna use the WW just for notes, not for cards. The other WW is owned by KAMI. He has his WW in use for about one year. I think this is one of the most awesome pieces I own. Damn, when I got this shit out of the sack where it was packed i said “YES, YES, YES … this is it” Great. FEINSCHMUCK you did best work again. The stingray patterned hook is so nice to look at and touch and the lanyard which was done by great leather artisan ARNO BUCK needs no words. Sorry, but i must praise myself a bit because the idea for this combination i had myself. The lanyard of my beloved RED MOON wallet which is now about 9 years old breaks more and more and so i was searching for a lanyard which fits this wonderful wallet … but i couldn’t find one. So FEINSCHMUCK and ARNO had to made one. THX ALEXANDER for attending this great job and made my idea real. The anchor is a vintage piece from WERKSTATT MUENCHEN; it’s about 15 years old and I wore it a long time around my neck. enjoy the pics. pics | LTG
these are great moments: taking an envelope out of the postbox with an absolute unexpected surpise. i love my wallets from TANNER GOODS. so i needed these in black and oxblood. as you see in the pics below the oxblood colored is my favorit. i own it now for a year and since i got it, i wore it nearly everyday. just changed sometimes to the black one or the TANNER GOODS card holder. the wallets are made of 3.5 oz HORWEEN CHROMEXCEL, feature four cards slots in which you can put easily more than just one card, two interior pockets for cash and receipts, one zippered coin pocket, which i do not use because of avoiding my cards crashing. each wallet is burnished, dyed, waxed and stamped with the TANNER GOODS signature maker’s mark by hand. the oxblood wallet i usually combine with the original LONG TETHER and sometimes with a lanyard from PETER FIELDS. the black one i combine with an OBBI GOOD LABEL wallet chain i got from BURG & SCHILD. yesterday the new PETER FIELDS wallet rope arrived. the rope is made by their selves in berlin: a made in germany thing combined with brass hook and shackel from japan. it is made of a vegetable tanned leather. i got it in brown and hope that they will do a black one too because it works so good with my TANNER GOODS wallets i own in black and oxblood. good job ANIE & co! some more facts: total lenght: 46,5 cm (18,3 inch), hook: 7 cm (2,8 inch), shackle: 2, 5 cm (1,0 inch). pics | LTG
… or how to transport money. some blogs ago i showed you the skull coin purse from SASQUATCHFABRIX EOTOTO which i bought at LN-CC, london. i use it now for some weeks and it makes fun and sense in combination with TANNER GOODS’ business and credit cardholder in saddle-tan and – one of my absolut favorit pieces – the CXXVI “WHALE” money clip. for years i used and rugged my beloved RED MOON wallet; so this one needs a longer break. and UWE bring TANNER GOODS to B-74 and VOLLS – thanks! bad pics | life time gear
