BOOT OF THE DAY | #193 | POST WAR II LACE UP BOOTS

Something special today. Please excuse the “non-perfect” pics but I did not make these myself. My boot buddy from Facebook’s BootOC – Boot Owners Club – HOUTY send me this from his new unworn dead stock post World War II boots. Aren’t these wonderful? Best condition. He bought the boots in Amsterdam for – in German we  say: “Apfel und ein Ei” – …  an apple and an egg … what means very cheap.  Houty wrote me that the  boots are built as robust as the vintage German tank TIGER – and indeed, they look damn tight. The boots must be made in the early fifties; before this time German military boots had no laces: mybe you know the famous “Knobelbecher”. I think they are about 6″ high, have a massive profiled nailed VORWERK sole, leather insole, 6 eyelets and a metal shank at the toe. Houty put the laces of his vintage Red Wing’s Beckman to it. Best look – great deal! If you have some questions concerning to the boots, please feel free to contact Houty. pics | HOUTY

CHEVROLET EL CAMINO WILL RETURN | 1959 to 2016 – AMAZING BROCHURES

Love this Chevy shit. I am a great CAMARO fan and also a driver of an amazing 4th generation orange beast. But beside i rather love nearly all the classic Chevys from the 50s to the late 70s and early 80s. So iI was really surprised that one of my absolute favorites will be produced again: the Chevrolet El Camino. Found this information @ http://newestcars2016.com. They write that 2016 the El Camino will be launched. And this what the Bold Ride site tells about this spectacular launch: “2016 Chevy Camaro’s debut is just around the corner. With it, comes the new lightweight Alpha platform and a host of different engine and power options. Indeed, the next generation Camaro is looking to take on Ford’s Mustang and hoping to squash the rivalry once and for all. But the use of GM’s Alpha platform had us wondering what else Chevy could do with it. It already sits under the ATS, CTS  and upcoming Camaro, but there seems to be endless possibilities for the lighter, more advanced frame. That’s where this El Camino SS concept comes into play. Sent to us on Facebook by way of the Camaro5 forum,  this future look at a new El Camino has us drooling.” The original El Camino was produced between 1959/1960 and then from 1964–1987. Check out the nice vintage folder and brochures below – so nice graphics – what an awesome car! pics | Chevrolet // Folder & brochures collected by Old Car Manual Project

TCB DENIM MADE IN JAPAN | GOES BREMERICH JEANS, ILLINGEN

ILLINGEN? never heard about? ILLINGEN is a small village near saarbruecken at the german / french border. maybe you checked my blog posts about MAENNERABEND @ ILLINGEN last november. last week OLI, owner of BREMERICH JEANS, send me a box to check up his newest japanese denim label TCB. this is really something special because TCB is just available at 2 shops in europe: somewhere in UK i think it is LONDON and in ILLINGEN. it’s unbelievable but OLI sold meanwhile 12 FLAT HEAD jeans in small ILLINGEN in the middle of nowhere and so he and his son DUSTIN decided to take one more japanese denim label to their sales range: TCB. this label is producing only these two 5-pocket jeans: a 50s and a 60s cut. both 13.5 oz raw denims are made of zimbabwe cotton in OKAYAMA, japan. the 50s denim is fit loose, a bit more “hairy” and “grained” and not so deep blue. typical are the covered rivets at the back inside pockets and the small red “flag”- really nice! maybe the 60s model is a bit more commercial OLI thinks because of its slimmer fit. and i promise you both models have a great price for japanese denim. check up  BREMERICH JEANS or send OLI a mail: info@bremerichjeans.com. pics | LTG
