WHISKEY & WAX EVENT @ B74 SELECTED GOODS | SOME IMPRESSIONS

Last Saturday I took part @ B74 Selected Goods x Filson Event WHISKEY & WAX. At the same time the B74 Crew and family celebrated the 9th Anniversary of this great concept store. It was really something special for me to meet Michael Uhlemann c/o cuisine-m in person. Over the last months we have had constant contact by fon and mail and it was time to see! What a wonderful person – a friend! It was a smooth atmosphere seeing some people waxing their stuff or just watching how correct waxing is done while others tried American Whiskeys. And me I made a nice find: American Single Malt Whiskey made by WESTLAND. What a great Taste and what a fluke, the distillery is in the same road where the Filson Headquarter is. WHISKEY & WAX EVENT @ B74 SELECTED GOODS SATURDAY 28TH OF OCTOBER

He guys, on Saturday the 28th of October my friends and client B74 Selected Goods will do a “Whiskey & Wax” event with Filson from 12 pm to 7 pm. I will also be there to do some nice shots.

“WAX YOUR COAT, DRINK OUR WHISKEY”

Filson’s Tin Cloth coats and pants will protect you from wind, rain, brush and worse for a generation or more – if you maintain it. When the wax comes off, you’ve got to add more. Join the event for a crash course on how it’s done, while you sip on some good American Bourbon. Feel free to bring a garment or a bag that could use a fresh coat. Furthermore B74 Selected Goods will celebrate its 9th Anniversary on the 28th. We all want you to be part of the B74 Selected Goods Family and join this special day with us!

DOL GIN & BOIS 1920 DOLCE DI GIORNO FOR MY SOUL FROM SOUL OBJECTS, BERLIN

Do you know SOUL OBJECTS? I think everyone knows soul objects and has some favorite soul objects for his own. But do you know the store SOUL OBJECTS? If you don’t it is time to check it out. SOUL OBJECTS is a great store in the heart of Berlin, Germany. In short: you get there vintage & antique furniture, curious beard grooming products and barbershop supplies,  non-standard accessories,  a lot of handmade, unique stuff & bags, vintage rum & whiskey, gin, wine, art and, and, and so on. It is a must to check their site to learn more about this great store and its owners Kornelius & Oliver, men full of soul – they live what they sell. Look at the wonderful store photos full of soul below … awesome. Anyway, some weeks ago i ordered a new fragrance and another gin for my collection. Best choice! The Bois 1920 DOLCE DI GIORNO – Eau de Parfum is really something special. It would be too much to describe the smell and the idea behind this fragrance – and something more special: i got a limited art collection piece with a nice package design. DOL GIN is a direct hit for my gin collection. Great taste, not to fruity but so smooth. It is made in South Tirol, Italy. This is what the distiller says about his gin: “Florian Rabanser,  the master distiller at Plunhof,  is not only a perfectionist when it comes to the distillation of classic brandies and grappas,  but he is also overflowing with creativity and impetus when it comes to the implementation of new ideas. Two years of developmental work have brought us the first gin distilled in the region,  the first distilled only from herbs and ingredients grown here in the Dolomites. Together with the village apothecary,  we have meticulously analyzed which herbs typically used in the production of gin grow here in the Dolomites,  and which can be reasonably substituted with other local herbs. The high quality outcome is a real insiders’ tip and contains numerous plants and herbs,  which grow wildly here in the area of Mount Sciliar. Only the indispensable lemon zest is brought in from Lake Garda. We must wait another 20 years until we can grow our own lemons here in Siusi allo Sciliar.” Interested? Yes. THE ONE WHO KNOCKS POMADE & BLUE JACKET BEARD OIL | by SHEAR REVIVAL

Some weeks ago I discovered the one and only TOWK “THE ONE WHO KNOCKS” POMADE by SHEAR REVIVAL. For me the absolute best pomade i ever used the last nearly 20 years. The consistency, the usage and this unique and perfect smell is unbeatable. I discovered TOWK at the wonderful done THE POMP site. Check the video below and you will see TOWK in use and a well done review. TOWK is made of beeswax, white petroleum, organic coconut oil, microcrystalline wax, jojoba oil, castor oil, fragrance oils. It is a traditional petro/oil based pomade. I need two washes to get it out. The hold is just perfect for my light hair: medium/firm and for me so important: the whole day renewable without using another portion of pomade. The smell is a killer: it is an oak aged bourbon scent with hints of oak, vanilla and coffee. Because of this IT KNOCKS! My mother told me that this pomade smells similar to the one her dad, my grandpa, used a long time ago – classic. The color ist light blue and it is made in Asbury, New Jersey, USA. The Blue Jacket Beard Oil is very nice too and for sure it is also pure organic made. The smell is very nice but not so KNOCKING and after use your beard is so smooth. Very fine. And the prices from Shear Revival are fine too! The problem for us Oversea-People is to get this wonderful stuff. Just directly from the states. iPhone CASES WHISKEY & CAPE HORN | by great JON CONTINO

since the first time i saw the work of NY based JON CONTINO i am a fan of his graphics and designs. this happened, i don’t know exactly, about 3 years ago, when i discovered the CXXVI Clothing site. it was amazing for me because i never saw such really nice and individual hand drawn types and graphic works before. so i was really happy to find these iphone cases with the classic CONTINO motives WHISKEY & CAPE HORN 2 weeks ago. the whale was on my first shirt  i ordered at CXXVI. it got a really rugged vintage look over the years and i still love it from the day on when i took it out of the parcel. the cases look better than they fit. it is hard to get the phone in and out of the case – whatever, they look great and the touch is okay too. and the price is okay! you can order these cases or with other motives and more CONTINO stuff at SOCIETY 6 . shipping to europe is 10 US$. pics | LTG
