This week, the last style of the new RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION the “HARRIET” was released. The style is part of the MODERN LINE I presented at the beginning of lastSeptember. The HARRIET is provided with the No. 110 last which features a slightly tapered round toe for a  comfortable fit and a timeless look. Available in 3 colorways: #3390HARRIET in Cognac Excalibur Leather, #3391 HARRIET in Black Boundary Leather and #3392 HARRIET Mahagony Oro-iginal Leather. RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION | THE “MODERN” LINE

This is the third product line of the last week launched RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION: the “MODERN”line. 2 styles “CLARA” and “LILLIAN” in different colorways were launched, the third named “HARRIET” will come to the stores in October. For me this line is not what RED WING SHOES are for me, but I am sure that a lot of Ladies will love this styles. RED WING about the “MODERN” line: “Both beautiful and  practical, our Modern Collection reinterprets our most classic designs for women. Each style is built on a genuine leather-stacked heel and a three-quarter Goodyear welt and showcases our premium s.b. Foot leathers.” All stacked leather heeled boots of the “MODERN” line got the the No. 110 last, which features a slightly tapered round toe for a comfortable fit and a timeless look. The “CLARA” is available in“ORO LEGACY LEATHER” #3404, “BLACK BOUNDARY LEATHER” #3405 and “AMBER HARNESS LEATHER” 3406; the “LILIAN” features “BEIGE PAMPAS LEATHER“ #3394 and “COGNAC EXCALIBUR LEATHER” #3395.The ”Harriet”, which will be launched in October is also available in 3 color ways – stay tuned. RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION | THE “CORE” LINE

Yes, the “CORE” line is my favorite one! This line is what RED WING means to me, also for women: a perfect adaption of men’s classics for women’s feet. Iconic styles like the Moc Toe #875, the Iron Ranger #8111 and the Engineer #2990 are developed for women’s feet requirements and needs. A perfect idea, knowing a lot of women wearing RED WING SHOES for years anyway. My wife never wailed about heavy or uncomfortable boots, but I know other ladies who did. So, right now they will get the perfect RED WING labeled boot with a perfect fit. This is what RED WING HERITAGE tells us about the “CORE” line: “Since our original Red Wing Heritage collection first started hitting the streets nearly a decade ago, women around the world have proudly worn our boots. The Core Collection features the most popular styles from our current men’s line, deconstructed and completely rebuilt for women, resulting in a boot that is lightweight, way more comfortable, and just as tough.” Something about the last RED WING used. Last No. 105 is based on our original Classic Moc, this is Red Wing’s most iconic style like the mentioned #875. The women’s version has been slimmed down just a bit in the width and toe for a true women’s fit. Sounds good! Last No. 107 is used to give shape to the engineer boots. Based on the men’s #522, it’s a pull on lace that fits true to size. The No. 106 last is based on one of RED WING’s oldest lasts, the 8 last, slightly modified for a better fit and sleeker feel for women. This timeless round toe shape gives the character to many of most popular RED WING boots. RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION | THE “LEGACY” LINE

Today the RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION was launched. The next days I will show you the different lines and boots this collection offers our ladies. I will start with the “LEGACY” line which includes one style in two different colorways: the GLORIA. Red Wing Shoes says: “At Red Wing Shoes we’re incredibly proud of our 110-year history of making footwear of the finest quality and craftsmanship. The purpose of our Legacy Collection is to honor and build upon that history with progressive designs inspired by our boots of yesteryear. These were the very boots worn by women shaping and defining the 20th century, optimized for utmost comfort, wearability, and durability.” The GLORIA is available in a ”black boundary leather” which is style #3385 and a very nice brown named “mahogany oro-iginal leather” which is style #3386 and one of my absolute favorites of the new women’s collection. The used No. 109 last is based on Red Wing Shoe Company’s first style for women, the Gloria, carefully updated for a modern look and feel. RED WING SHOES | LAUNCH OF RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION ON 1ST of SEPTEMBER

This time there is something really new and special: RED WING SHOES launches its first contemporary women’s collection. They launched some true RWS, classics which we know from the men’s collections since years – this line is named “CORE”. You’ll find Moc Toes, Iron Ranger and Engineer boots with lasts especially done for  women’s feet – great idea, isn’t it? For me as an RWS aficionado this is the line that makes the most sense to me. But for sure the ”LEGACY” line is really interesting too because of the extremely feminine and heritage look. These look like the very boots worn by women shaping and defining the 20th century, optimized for utmost comfort, wear ability, and durability. The ”MODERN” line is not my cup of coffee, but I am sure that a lot of ladies will like this reinterpretations of RWS most classic designs for women.

1ST PAT–RN x TIMEX ARCHIVE UTILITY WATCH

As a constant reader of LTG Blog you must know that I love to get limited things. So it was with this beautiful Timex Archive watch. As a great fan of 1ST PAT–RN stuff I am so happy to own #38 of just 130 produced pieces. And guys, hurry up, there are just a few left @ THE BUREAU – last restock! Her just some facts:

_ an exclusive reversible Mil/Trad spec strap.
So old school, so classical, so simple … so nice. Cristiano Berto owner and founder of 1ST PAT–RN about the collaboration watch: “Inspiration and research was important part of the process when I’ve worked with Timex Archive staff to create the 1ST PAT-RN project. Often, especially in watchmaking, it’s easy to see out there some “re-issued” or “remake” or “homage”. It’s a easy process that does not involve so much time: just see a piece, and reproduce it. Done! No pain!  I don’t like so much that way when I design. Everything.  For the Timex Archive X 1ST PAT-RN project I have try to apply my method, exactly the same I use for my collection.  I’m started on a old Timex watch from my archive bought 23 years ago. Made in Great Britan. I’ve study any detail and working as my method always drive me (make it clean, simple and finally, chic) I have “clean” all the “surplus” details: my question was “what make this old Timex watch great?” The anwer was easy: “combination of font shapes and white, red colors” and I have try to work *only* with this three elements, place them in the fantastic Waterbury case, sized 38 mm. and use a vintage shaped plexy: simple ingredients and the Timex staff made all the great job to realize this. The result, in my opinion, was exactly what I have expected: simple, chic, easy to read. The strap is another great story to tell …” Check Cristianos FB site to read – interesting for sure! THE RED WING SHOES “ORIGINAL BOOT” REPLICA FROM 1905 | THE 1ST RED WING BOOT EVER

By cleaning up my boot closet I found this black beauty. Damn, this boot is so nice but my wife didn’t wear it for a long time and will not wear it anymore. This is not her boot style – she prefers the RWS Moc Toes and Chelseas. I bought this rare piece from RED WING SHOES in 2005 at Red WING SHOES Frankfurt, Germany. The model number is #850. They produced just a very small and limited run of these for the 100th birthday of RWS, I think to remember. Now I must give it away because I need more space for other boots I got the last time for my collection. Tomorrow I will give the boot to KAMI, owner of Red Wing Store Frankfurt, and we will show it @ the B74 Vintage Sale on Saturday 14th. Maybe I will sell it or Kami will take it to his magic archive. We will see … I can’t calm down seeing this boot for the first time again after some years: what an awesome boot! And it is a really good and original Replica compared to the picture of the “ORIGINAL BOOT” from 1905. The original work boot first year featured leather, buckles and laces for a secure fit. @ first some really great news for all RWS aficionados: The Online Store of Red Wing Shoe Store Frankfurt, Germany, has reopened after a complete relaunch: www.redwingfrankfurt.com! And I love this clean graphic style so much. I do not want to see the 877th rugged or vintage look-a-like page. Complements. Kami you did a perfect job with your team! So we did a test shopping some days before the shop went online … the result was the brand new limited RED WING #8882 – a perfect online order: Ordered in the morning and the next day the boot arrived. The online order process itself is very simple, fast and smooth … it works!

Constant readers of LTG Blog know that I like blue RWS a lot. Two years ago I got the indigo colored classic work #8100 Oxford from Japan and I still love it. The #8882 is the same shoe just 6″ high like the classic #875, moc toed, made of Indigo Portage Leather and completed by the Traction Tred Cushion Crepe Wedge. Very nice is the brown ending of the bootleg – a small detail, but I love the contrast between the rich blue and brown leather. Another nice feature: you don’t get only the standard Red Wing Shoe Laces but a second pair made of leather. The leather laces look very nice but for me these are not so practical. BUTTS AND SHOULDERS | THE ROUGH COLLECTION – NEW BAG COLLECTION LAUNCHED

Some day ago I got some news from my buddy WOUTERS co-founder of BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and the man behind the great LONG JOHN blog. They launched their new collection named “THE ROUGH COLLECTION”. this collection “are variations on our beloved virgins”, they say, “The same bold Butts and Shoulders style and the same attention it deserves. Clean and classic with a lot of style!”. So the collection features the 3 classic BAS bags: Travel Bag, Worker Bag – my favorite – and the Post Bag. All models are now availabe in four new treated leather variations: brown (cognac),  dark brown,  dark Green (army) and striped blue/black leather. On every bag the brnading is sprayed by hand. And for sure these great bags will getting even nicer by using them everyday. As all BAS stuff these bags are made in Holland, Europe, in stricly limited quantities. MR. LIFE TIME GEAR HAS A NEW JOB? AS A BARBER?

yesterday evening i joined the football match of my 1. FC KAISERSLAUTERN vs FSV FRANKFURT. WE won 1:0 and went to second place of german BUNDESLIGA 2. funny, i was asked by two people if i would be the barber in the FCK movie the team released 2 months ago to present their new jerseys. you must know: FCK goes ROCKABILLY this season. this topic you’ll find in all the press and f.ex in the new team collection catalogue. this is one is not so bad – it could have been a bit more authentic but it’s okay. so overall not a bad idea and it is really great to hear the STRAY CATS and other favorite bands of mine before the match rockin’. this is really something new for german football stadiums. enjoy the video … me as a barber hahahahaha … pics & vid | 1.
