FEINSCHMUCK x PassionFrance® | BRONZE WALLET HOOK STINGRAY PLUS LONDON ANCHOR KNIFE

isn’t that a wonderful combination? i love it. the knife is made by PassionFrance® and the style is named LONDON. it is a maritime knife and because of this i like the combination of the stingray patterned bronze hook with the golden anchor – perfect content. next time i will do a special blog post about this wonderful knife. the hook is massive bronze and very well done – hand made by MARIA and MANFRED STROPPE c/o FEINSCHMUCK. ALEXANDER V. BRONEWSKI, who does the well known and fine because.blog, works also for FEINSCHMUCK. he gave me the simple but very nice and durable lace made of kangaroo leather. FEINSCHMUCK does a lot of hooks with different patterns and a lot of more fine accessories made of bronze and other materials. at their website you will find a list of stores where you can buy this beautiful stuff. PassionFrance@ knifes are available online at www.passionfrance-shop.de. pics | LTG

PASSION FRANCE OR “SPOILT FOR CHOICE – WHICH KNIFE WILL BE MINE …”

yesterday evening i went to PASSION FRANCE with OLLI THE BARBER, KLAUS, c/o VOLLS and UWE E. MAIER c/o AMTRAQ. we went there because UWE got a gift coupon from us when he celebrated his 50 birthday this year to choose a knife @ PASSION FRANCE. WOLFGANG & SABINE received us in their showroom and it was so amazing. damn: so many knives, one nicer than the other. WOLFGANG & SABINE told us all the details and stories about the different types of french knives. it was so exciting and it was really difficult for UWE to decide which knife he should take. at least it was a classical LAGUIOLE – a pretty one. good choice UWE, have fun with your knife! pics | LTG

LTG CAP & HAT COLLECTION | 04 | THE SUMMER STRAW BOWLER BY SCHMITTHUT

i got this wonderful stray BOWLER this summer. especially hand made for me by hat maker and artisan SUSANNE SCHMITT c/o SCHMITTHUT, darmstadt, germany. what a wonderful work. best fit as usual when i get a SCHMITTHUT hat and an awesome straw structure. i like the classic bowler type combined with this normally known material for other hat types like pork pie, fedora or trilby. and always exciting to watch the photos of the process how my hats were made – please take a closer look. pics | SCHMITTHUT & LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #178 | ALDEN FOR BUREAU BELFAST “KUDU PLAIN TOE BLUCHER & WORK BOOT“

half a year ago i did a blog post about a KUDU INDY BOOT by ALDEN for BUREAU BELFAST and i was really fascinated about this great looking antelope leather. BUREAU BELFAST right now got 2 other KUDU styles from ALDEN: a BLUCHER and a WORK BOOT. both fitted with a custom vibram sole, dark brown eyelets, flat cotton laces and a reverse split welt. the rare KUDU leather has an oil finish. certainly is this ALDEN stuff hand made in the USA. what a wonderful footwear! pics | The Bureau Belfast

LTG FAVORITES #93 | BOWLER HAT BY SCHMITTHUT – HOW IT WAS MADE STEP BY STEP

2 weeks ago i picked up my new brown BOWLER hat @ SCHMITTHUT. and sorry to say so, but it is true: STETSON, BRIXTON, BORSALINO and all the others, you do a very good job but there is no hat better than one made by hand especially for your own head. it is the same with a made-to-measure suit. SUSANNE made again such a great job and the hat fits more than perfect. it is the third hat she made for me and i love’em all. the next bowler is in progress: made of straw for summer.  pics | Susanne Schmitt, LTG

FRANCE SUJET | FRENCH “SWISS KNIFE” MADE BY COUPÉRIER-COURSOLE

yes, still showing off birthday presents: thx OLLI THE BARBER for this small but so fine french “SCHWEIZER MESSER”. the brass motives of these knives are made with original forms of the 19th century. some of these wonderful d’artisan motives were done by M. OKINSBURGER, who made some drafts for french coins which were embossed in paris. all this knives are still made by hand and every piece is unique. just one craftsman does all the steps which have to be done from the beginning till the end to produce a FRANCE SUJET knife. the knives are available at PassionFrance. pics | LTG
