RINOUMA MADE IN JAPAN #03 | BAGS & BELTS

The last month I presented some stuff from RINOUMA MADE IN JAPAN available @ B74, Frankfurt. Different wallets, brass hooks, leather and brass card cases –  today I will show you the classic RINOUMA bags and a simple but so beautiful belt. The “CITY BAGS” are from RINOUMAS flagship leather combination line named RNBL featuring 20oz. paraffin coating water-resistant canvas, vegetable tanned leather, 2.0 mm-thick cotton tape, #10 YKK Japanese metal zipper with golden brass color, and premium brass metal parts – all materials 100% Japanese. The “CITY BAG” is available with strap and without in 3 different sizes. The leather RINOUMA uses for bags and this beautiful belts is a 4 mm thick grade steer hide which is tanned in one of the highest quality Japanese tanneries since 1937. The Japanese Craftsmen need 20 steps making this leather. It is a very old saddle leather making process with a lot of hand made processes. At first the leather is put to a light tanning pit, than to a little deeper, and so on. It takes about 3 months for a real deep tanning – without any chrome additions. So the leather soaks the maximum of tannin and the density of this gets very deep. Another effect is that the weight gets much heavier compared to normal leather. POCKETKNIFE WITH PANCAKE HOLSTER by ONDURA DURABLE GOODS

I own a lot of knives but not such a nice combination: The ONDURA pocketknife with its so well done pancake holster – an absolute must have for men loving knives, collecting knives … The knife is a simple classic German pocketknife, which was developed and produced by famous OTTER-Messer Company in Solingen/Germany. For ONDURA it was really important to get a knife which is made complete traditionally here in Germany. The blade length is 100 mm and made of carbon steel. For safety reasons it is fitted with a backlock. The handles are so nice to touch – in German we call this a “Handschmeichler” –, these are made from olive wood with a nice texture. The brass ONDURA bear in the inlay is not just nice to watch: the bear on the knife and the bear on the holster must be covered by each other – there is only one way to put the knife into the holster: bear over bear. This works perfect! The “pancake” holster is made of two 4mm thick vegetal tanned leather layers  It is clued, sewed and riveted, mould and decorated with the ONDURA bear branding. The edges are brushed and polished. ONDURA offers also the perfect belt for the holster, the Workman Belt in tan. But I think it fits my vintage DUKES belt as good … Now the holster must age in daily use … exciting about the look it will get. NEW BELT FOR THE LIFE TIME GEAR BUCKLE | by FEINSCHMUCK x ALEX v. BRONWESKI c/o BECAUSE BLOG

last week i got my awesome LTG buckel made by FEINSCHMUCK back with a new dark chocolate brown leather belt. this was well done by ALEXANDER v. BRONEWSKI who is doing the great BECAUSE blog. now the belt is perfect. it is made of a very nice and strong SCHACHENMEYER leather and ALEX did the perfect size for me: best fit! and he put a really great surprise on to the belt: inside the belt he embossed my initials EJ and LTG with two stars. great idea! thank you so much ALEX! pics | LTG

as a great POPEYE fan i own my talisman from FEINSCHMUCK since they’ve done the first pieces one year ago. beside the talisman, FEINSCHMUCK does a POPEYE BELT BUCKLE and different POPEYE ZIPPOS. all pieces are manufactured by hand by the small FEINSCHMUCK team in bavaria, germany. these pieces are made of bronze and you can get it with patina or without. in germany you find this great stuff at PETER FIELDS, berlin, and B-74 in frankfurt, main. pics | Alexander v. EVENT UPDATE WITH FEINSCHMUCK & PassionFrance® | B-74 CELEBRATES ITS 5TH BIRTHDAY

he guys, today KAMI c/o B-74 told me that the line up for the 5TH birthday event of the shop is fixed. happy to hear that FEINSCHMUCK and PassionFrance® will be in FRANKFURT next saturday 30TH NOVEMBER. FEINSCHMUCK will show a lot of works and the upcoming new collection 2014.
