TELLASON | PREVIEW: CHORE COAT IN 14,75 CONE MILLS WHITE OAK RAW DENIM S/S 2017

A few days days ago I visited UWE E. MAIER, owner and founder of AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION in Frankfurt, Germany. He showed me some news, presented in his wonderful showroom – I love to be there … it is like a men’s playground for dry goods. Among other beautiful and exciting stuff I found this wonderful TELLASON jacket coming up next Spring/Summer Season: the 14.75 OZ CHORE COAT. Chore coats, were emerged in the early 20th century, worn by the blue-collar classes of American farmers and factory workers. The guys from TELLASON did a new take on the good old work jacket made of Cone Mills White Oak red line raw selvedge denim. Featuring 2 big lower patched pockets, 1 chest pocket with flap and button and one chest pocket with pen slot. Check the so nice selvedge detail at center seam inside the jacket and nice rounded collar. Like this off white single needle top stitching. Aren’t the original copper patent buttons awesome? So much great details. This new classic will be in the stores from January 2017 onwards. pics | LTG

TELLASON | NEW FATIGUE PANT MADE OF 7.5 OZ BRITISH KHAKI TWILL FROM JAPAN

In February 2016 I wrote a blog post about 2 TELLASON Fatigue pants made of 8.5 oz cotton sateen in Olive Green and Khaki. These 2 pants where my constant companions this summer. The guys @ TELLASON now did a third Fatigue Pant, which is even smoother than the first I got. I love this touch and feel from the first moment on I tried this pant. It is TELLASON’s take on the iconic OD-107 fatigue pant from the Vietnam area. The new Fatigue comes in 7.5 oz 100% cotton twill from Japan, raw and unwashed, but so comfortable. With a tapered leg, zip fly, flap back pockets. For sure made in San Francisco. RINOUMA MADE IN JAPAN | LONG & SHORT WALLET WITH HANDMADE BRASS HOOKS

Amazing: there is a new brand available at B74, Frankfurt, GER. A Japanese one named “RINOUMA – MADE IN JAPAN”. They do wonderful bags, wallets, belts and are specialized in brass, using just Japanese manufactured materials only! Traditional work meets contemporary style. Today I will show you the long & short wallet with a fitting key chain and brass hooks. The wallets are made of steer hide leather tanned in Japan. At first the people at RINOUMA tried to make the wallets of Japanese saddle leather, which was nice, but a little bit too hard and stiff for wallets. So they tried to find a more soft feeling leather. They found a leather which is made by a small second generation family tannery, operating since 1921, in Hyogo, which is the most popular leather making prefecture in Japan. There is a clean river and always good winds for drying the leather – a perfect climate. This is the key to the finest quality for RINOUMA’s leather. It is a 3.3 to 3,7 mm thick steer hide leather. Craftsman add oil to the leather by hand for a varnishing finish. So the wallets get this so nice touch and feel. The brown color is also very clean and beautiful dyed. RINOUMA just uses premium Japanese brass parts. The zips run easy and the buttons work perfect. Men, take a look at these nice hooks. The key hook and the one with the wallet chain have a light bend, and so they hang perfect at your belt loop. Hooks and chain are handmade and made of 100% Japanese brass. Chains are manufactured by a vintage “chain-making-machine” older than 50 years. The hooks have such a wonderful matte finish which feels so nice. For me a perfect combination to the short wallet – I love it. AND, every piece is comes in a green paraffin coating canvas sack! TELLASON NEWS | THE CLAMPDOWN SHIRT “SALT & PEPPER” SELVEDGE + THE BANDANA 3 PACK

The guys from TELLASON Pete and Tony  – the makers of the one and only denim I wear since 4 years: GUSTAVE 14.75 oz. Sometimes I think that this thing was just made for me 😉 – did a new Shirt, which also could be an absolute favorite of my Life Time Gear collection. The CLAMPTON SHIRT is a TELLASON icon. It is a classic workwear styled shirt not only because of the look and the aesthetic but also because of its functional details. It is made in San Francisco of finely woven “Salt & Pepper” 7.5 oz Japanese selvedge – raw and unwashed. This CLAMPDOWN has so nice details like the triple needle stitching on the sides and underarm seams and these wonderful selvedge details at the side gussets and under the pocket flaps –I love this! Don’t forget the Corozo buttons and the TELLASON pencil you’ll get with the shirt. A great addition is the new BANDANA-3-PACK including a red, white and navy one, made of 100 cotton in the USA and printed in Oakland, California. The size is 21″ x 21″. Every bandana has another printing: The “CLASSIC” in navy, the „GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE” and the “FLETCH” dedication. This one shows quotations from the film “FLETCH” … an interesting idea and good looking too! I like the typography on the bandana a lot … this is something different compared to a “normal” bandana. Yes, the “CORE” line is my favorite one! This line is what RED WING means to me, also for women: a perfect adaption of men’s classics for women’s feet. Today the RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION was launched. The next days I will show you the different lines and boots this collection offers our ladies. RED WING SHOES | LAUNCH OF RED WING HERITAGE WOMEN’S COLLECTION ON 1ST of SEPTEMBER

This time there is something really new and special: RED WING SHOES launches its first contemporary women’s collection. They launched some true RWS, classics which we know from the men’s collections since years – this line is named “CORE”. You’ll find Moc Toes, Iron Ranger and Engineer boots with lasts especially done for  women’s feet – great idea, isn’t it? For me as an RWS aficionado this is the line that makes the most sense to me. But for sure the ”LEGACY” line is really interesting too because of the extremely feminine and heritage look. These look like the very boots worn by women shaping and defining the 20th century, optimized for utmost comfort, wear ability, and durability. The ”MODERN” line is not my cup of coffee, but I am sure that a lot of ladies will like this reinterpretations of RWS most classic designs for women.

“STAY BEARDED” SNAPBACK CAP | by THE OLD STREET BARBER CO

I hate this f***ing and senseless discussion about having a beard or not, and even more talking about  being a hipster because having a beard … ??? A beard is just a beard! A sign of manliness, something you live with, something you have to care about … a part of you. I just feel sorry for those, who wear a beard as a sign of fashion or trend. Me, I wear different beard forms since the early 90s, but never without since this time. Everything started with a typical „GRUNGE” beard and I asserted that my head looked a bit smaller with it – an optical decision for the first time. I tried a lot of beard styles from the mustache over a “Coop” to this full beard today, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, sometimes fuller, sometimes straight. So my devise is: “STAY BEARDED” and show the world that your beard however it looks like is YOUR statement, YOUR statement of personality and not a f***ing fashion trend. I was so happy when I found this great snapback at the THE OLD STREET BARBER CO website. They do grooming products for bearded men. I will test these soon. The caps are limited editions. At the flat peak I am working on, because I don’t like this style so much. It is high quality made, THE OLD STREET BARBER CO labeled inside and the 3D “STAY BEARDED” embroidery is awesome.
