RED WING SHOES x TELLASON DENIM | WHAT A PERFECT MATCH

Red Wing Shoes and Denim, Denim and Red Wing Shoes … what a great match. Even more if the denim fits absolutely perfect to the boots you wear! Take a look at the blue line raw selvage denim from Tellason on these nice blue RWS Moc Toe Style #8882. Or Tellasons Ladbroke Grove in 16.5oz Cone Mills White Oak ORANGE line raw selvage denim and this limited Irish Setter 9877 customized by Brian Troung. The oro-legacy leather of iconic RWS style #875 and #877 would also fit the orange selvage perfectly. And at last the RWS x Eat Dust Pecos #4327 made of Oro-Russet Portage and Abilene leather combined with classic red selvage from Tellason’s Gustave in 14.75oz Cone Mills White Oak denim. It is such a great idea by Tellason Denim to give each denim weight another selvage color – isn’t it? And again – it is all about the details. You mean this is something for nerds? No, but for Red Wing lovers and Denim Dudes! Best addresses to live this passion: www.b74.de and www.redwingfranfurt.com. pics | LTG

WHISKEY & WAX EVENT @ B74 SELECTED GOODS | SOME IMPRESSIONS

Last Saturday I took part @ B74 Selected Goods x Filson Event WHISKEY & WAX. At the same time the B74 Crew and family celebrated the 9th Anniversary of this great concept store. It was really something special for me to meet Michael Uhlemann c/o cuisine-m in person. Over the last months we have had constant contact by fon and mail and it was time to see! What a wonderful person – a friend! It was a smooth atmosphere seeing some people waxing their stuff or just watching how correct waxing is done while others tried American Whiskeys. And me I made a nice find: American Single Malt Whiskey made by WESTLAND. What a great Taste and what a fluke, the distillery is in the same road where the Filson Headquarter is. Just ordered a bottle 😉 | © phptos | LTG by Eric Jost

WHISKEY & WAX EVENT @ B74 SELECTED GOODS SATURDAY 28TH OF OCTOBER

He guys, on Saturday the 28th of October my friends and client B74 Selected Goods will do a “Whiskey & Wax” event with Filson from 12 pm to 7 pm. I will also be there to do some nice shots.

“WAX YOUR COAT, DRINK OUR WHISKEY”

Filson’s Tin Cloth coats and pants will protect you from wind, rain, brush and worse for a generation or more – if you maintain it. When the wax comes off, you’ve got to add more. Join the event for a crash course on how it’s done, while you sip on some good American Bourbon. Feel free to bring a garment or a bag that could use a fresh coat. Furthermore B74 Selected Goods will celebrate its 9th Anniversary on the 28th. We all want you to be part of the B74 Selected Goods Family and join this special day with us!

ACTION PACKED RED WING SHOES ILLUSTRATIONS

When doing my daily blog, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook check up, I found these so nice illustrations at the Twitter account of @OreNo2Che from Japan. As you know I am a great comic fan – what a perfect combination this Red Wing boots inspired Manga drawings. I like the way the iconic RWS styles PECOS, HUNTSMAN, 877, LOGGER and ENGINEER are drawn. Since days I try to find the source of the pics – no chance. It would be great to see the whole pictures, the complete format and not only clippings. But I thought that you would like these clippings as I do. pics | Twitter account @OreNo2Che

RED WING SHOES | THE BLACK LINEMAN BOOT #2995

Today the new Red Wing Black Lineman #2995 is launched and now available @ Red Wing Frankfurt – online and in-store. Lineman boots are the style of work boots for electric line workers. As compared to other Red Wing boots, Lineman boots consist of eyelet rows that pass through shoe laces extending till the toe. This allows adjustment for the boots to hold the feet tighter which is believed to improve the safety of lineman working at high places. This boot style of Black “Retan” leather is a revival of Red Wing classical work boots’ standard style, combining nitrile cork sole and Goodyear welt construction, original only to Red Wing.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
In the early 20th century, lineman was known as one of the most dangerous jobs. It was said that one out of three linemen was killed by accident on duty. Linemen thus needed high degree of safety from their equipment. The style of footwear that they preferred was lace-to-toe. The design makes shoe lace goes from toe part, ensuring tight holding of feet. Early boots that had this lace-to-toe system appeared in Red Wing’s catalogue in early 1940’s. Red Wing Lineman Boots inherit the lace-to-toe design from the boots.

SMOOTH-FINISHED LEATHER
Smooth-finished leathers have a polished surface that enhances the true beauty and quality of the leather. Only the most premium, top-quality hides are used to craft smooth-finished leathers. The result is a beautiful, classic-looking leather used to build more elegant styles, such as the Red Wing Heritage Beckman Collection. The polished look and feel of the smooth-finished leather requires more specialized care and attention to keep it maintained.

RED WING SHOES | LAUNCH OF THE BLACK LINEMAN BOOT #2995

Next Wednesday, the 5th of July, the new Black Lineman style #2995 will be launched. Stay tuned for more information! In the early 20th century, as America built its electrical and telecommunications grid, linemen were known to have very dangerous jobs. Due to high fatality rates, linemen relied heavily on their equipment for safety. They preferred lace-to-toe footwear for the security of a tight fit around the foot. Boots like these appeared in Red Wing Shoe Co. catalogs in the early 1940s. The 2995 Lineman boot will be launched exclusively at European Red Wing Stores Wednesday, the 5th of July. Formerly only available in Japan, find the 2995 Lineman at @ redwingfrankfurt and other Red Wing Shoe stores. pics | © Red Wing Heritage

CUSTOMIZED ICONIC RED WING BOOT #877 MOC TOE

Customized iconic Red Wing #877. Found – where else – on a Japanese Twitter Account (MaH @MaH53137643). I like this kind of customizing with that fat soles and higher heels a lot. But beside soles and heels there is another fine custom thing that looks great and is very practical at these 8-inch Classic Moc: speed hooks! What a perfect #877 … pics | MaH @MaH53137643
