SHORT VISIT @ GENTLEMAN’S SKATESHOP, ASCHAFFENBURG, GERMANY

Yesterday I did an absolute spontaneous visit at GENTLEMAN’S SKATESHOP in Aschaffenburg, Germany. This little nice and cozy town is just 50 km away from the Life Time Gear Central. DIRK SCHÜTT owner and founder of this so nice shop kept some JOHNNY CASH socks for me. And because of a lazy Saturday morning I put little LEVI into the orange beast and we flew over to DIRK. And for sure we will see again soon. What a great guy and what an easy atmosphere in the shop … just good vibes. And it is a nice concept to combine some heritage stuff with some fresh and classic skateboard stuff – this works. DIRK see ya! pics LTG

BUTTS AND SHOULDERS NEW GOODYEAR WELTED BOOTS

Today, back to the boots. My buddy WOUTER c/o BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and LONG JOHN blog send me some pics of the new B&S boot which had its premier @ the MODEFABRIEK FAIR AMSTERDAM a few days ago. Very nice.This classic boot is made in Portugal from a natural vegetable tanned leather and it is fitted with a GOODYEAR welted construction. Look at the pics – the leather is aging so wonderful. ADIDAS MI SUPERSTAR 80S | PERSONALIZED SNEAKER

Sometimes I don’t wanna wear a boot or an oxford … sometimes I just wanna wear a sneaker. So I am really happy that ADIDAS relaunched a lot of shoes I knew and loved when I was a young boy and a teen; f.ex. the STAN SMITH or the SUPERSTAR 80S. Some month ago I bought my 1st SUPERSTAR since 30 years. So nice to watch down to the feet: back to the eighties. I took the white blue and orange “Superstar East River Rivalry”. Because of so much comfort, a really hot summer and my love for this special sneaker I ordered one more I completely personalized my own. Just white and off white. Damn, when I took my new SUPERSTAR 80S out of the box I was really amazed! Love it! I took the white soft leather for the uppers, the 3 stripes are made of structured tumbled leather and i choose off white laces and an off white sole. The heel with the ADIDAS logo is also made in this nice soft white leather. So nice the embroidered ADIDAS logo on the tongue – very smart. The best: there is no model type at the side of the shoe where normally the SUPERSTAR type is placed – just clear. Super special: my name written at the backside of the sole with a laser – understatement! For sure this will be a new Life Time Gear piece! pics | LTG

ORDERSHOW SS2016 @ B74 SELECTED GOODS, FRANKFURT GERMANY | PART #01

Last Thursday I went to B74, Frankfurt, Germany, to meet good friends and to check up some upcoming stuff for S/S 2016. As every time it was great – KAMI & IRIS are perfect hosts. Again it was a really hot day in the middle of Frankfurt City, but the vibes downstairs and the temperatures were so cool and really smooth. Beside a lot of nice stuff from PASSIONFRANCE, JOHNSON MOTORS INC., SCARTI LAB, REDWING SHOES etc., I had two highlights: the upcoming collections from 1ST PAT-RN and PRIVATE WHITE VC. And both sales men, CRISTIANO (1ST PAT-RN) and DIRK were so kind to explain me in detail the stuff with such an emotion and addiction that I could have been listened to for hours. … but time was running. RED WING POST #02 LAUNCH @ RED WING STORE FRANKFURT, GERMANY

Yesterday I joined the launch party of RED WING POST #02 @ RED WING STORE FRANKFURT “The Mother of all RWS Stores in Europe”. It was a really nice event with a lot of friends, some new faces and what a luck best cooled drinks, because yesterday in Frankfurt the thermometer showed again more than 30°C. It was so hot! Thx KAMI and his team for an amazing evening! It is a pity that the RW POST just appears once a year. Some peeks inside of this well done RW POST #02 will follow asap. pics | LTG

“THE” PRINTED T-SHIRTS by THE HILL-SIDE SPORTSWEAR

Some days ago I picked up these nice T-shirts by THE HILLSIDE @ VOLLS. KLAUS offers these in 3 colors: army green, french blue and faded black. It is a pity that the blue shirt just came in in M and XL – not my sizes. I love this simple but so nice and classic “THE” print. The shirts are made of ring-spun cotton jersey. Some more facts: garment-dyed in USA, screen-printed by hand with water-based ink, split hem at side seams, semi-circle back yoke panel, The Hill-Side Sportswear woven label, 100% cotton and for sure Made in USA. B74 SELECTED GOOD x LEICA GALERIE FRANKFURT | SUMMERPARTY

Yesterday I joined the summer party of B74 and LEICA Galerie in Frankfurt Main, Germany. It was such a nice party while the temperatures run up to 40°C / 104°F and more. On hour way home the instruments in the car showed  40.5°C outside … damn hot for a middle European. But the party was really cool, because KAMI owner and founder of B74 SELECTED GOODS, his team and the guys from LEICA did a really good job when they organized this event. Wonderful finger food corresponding to the hot summer weather, best service – i can’t remember me a minute without an ice cold water or lemon in my hand. I am a bit said that i could not meet the special guest Rainer W. Schlegelmilch. When I had to leave in the afternoon he still wasn’t there. Schlegelmilch is one of the most famous Formula 1 Photographers in the world. In the rooms of B74 there was an exhibition with examples of  Schlegelmilchs great work. I had the great pleasure to work with him in a project for a common client years ago. We did a Formula 1 calender. Yesterday you have had the chance to buy his book and to get a signature by the master himself. But no master, no book.  Although the weather was so damn hot a lot of people came and amazingly all people where in a good mood while sweating to the bones … pics | LTG

“THE WHOLE FILM IN 5 SECONDS” | THE BEST FILMS EVER – WITHOUT ANY WORDS – JUST EXPLAINED IN SIMPLE GRAPHICS

Damn, I love this book. There isn’t a day since I bought it that I did not take a look inside. The idea is amazing and I had to laugh all the time. The graphics are so reduced to the maximum and so simple, sometimes childish but always 1,000 % to the point.  “This is the perfect book for film buffs and anyone with a sense of humour or a short attention span.” I Got the German issue, but in ther imprint i saw that there must be an English original issue from 2013 with the title “FILM IN FIVE SECONDS” published by Quercus Publishing Plc, London. The book is made by MATTEO CIVASCHI and GIANMARCO MILESI – well done guys! The pictures you’ll find below are just some of my absolutely most beloved films.  150 Movies in graphics … where to start?
