yes, yes, yes – this is it! i love the #101 – the POSTMAN. my first pair was a present from KLAUS c/o VOLLS.DE. i know this post is something special for shoe nerds … but sorry, this is a RED WING SHOE for real RED WING LOVERS and not for fashion pussies! and the best: the customized #101 means for me one step further. hm, what do you think? would you prefer the one with the original cushion sole or the customized #101 one with the nitrile black cork sole, you may know f.ex. from RED WING’S black IRON RANGER #8114? i love the #101 look with this heel construction. it reminds me a classic U.S. navy officer shoe. but i like both and i won’t give one of them away because for me they are different shoes. KAMI c/o RED WING SHOE STORE FRANKFURT/GERMANY made the customized #101 for me. i can’t remember if the first miles with the original #101 hurt so much as they do with the customized one. damn. everyday i wear them just a few hours indoor and i am happy to get them off. but … it’s okay. the day will come when they got broken – this shoe is worth the trouble! pics | LTG
got this vintage children’s book from my copywriter PETER Z. to take a look at it. it is from 1972 and it is really amazing that one of the illustrated workers is wearing a perfect rugged outfit. really funny. the story that isn’t everything but funny is about a mole who’s name is GRABOWSKI. there was the plan to build up a high-rise building estate. when the workers began their work the catastrophe for the mole began. the machines and the workers attacked and tried to catch him. terrible and really thrilling drawn and written. but the story comes to a happy end: the mole GRABOWSKI escaped and found a meadow like a paradies. the story is more than 40 years ol, it is from the time when the people began thinking over their environment and to save nature. pics | LTG || Der Maulwurf Grabowski by Luis Murschetz
he guys save this date! i know that some highlights are waiting for you at the 30th of november. stay tuned, next weekend you will know more than just the date. time is running. when KAMI opened the B-74 five years ago i did a story about it in german R’n’R magazine #01 DYNAMITE!. at this time i was one of the chief editors and the art director of the mag. this is really fucking 5 years ago. when he celebrated the 2nd birthday of his shop i was there and met DIRK THOMAS c/o MERZ B. SCHWANEN for the first time. he customized me a MASTER SMITH shirt with stamps. DIRK, i still got it! the party was great, nice to be again at B-74 for another birthday party. pics | LTG
it was so nice yesterday night at MAENNERABEND in ILLINGEN. after a terrible drive through heavy traffic, storms and rain we got to BREMERICH JEANS. and ican tell you: ILLINGEN may be a little village but it is so nice and i was so surprised when i got into OLI BREMERICH’s shop. perfect – i did not expect this! and the next surprise was the crowd of men listened to the RED WING guys, MONTI & ROBIN from the ONE GOODS, WOLFGANG from PASSIONFRANCE®, ROB & KEITH from EAT DUST … OLI – great work, good job, best organized. thanks for this nice evening. here just some expressions. pics | LTG
OLI BREMERICH is what BONIFATIUS was for the catholics: a missionary. something like a missionary for all those guys in the sticks around ILLINGEN, SAARLAND, germany, who do not know what good denim and boots mean. ILLINGEN? where the f*** is ILLINGEN? okay, found it on the map: it is a small village 20 km in the north of SAARBRUECKEN just a spy away from the french border in the west of germany. it is really small with around 16.800 people who live there. and one of them is OLI. he runs the shop i do not know, but i think in third generation. the store was founded in 1934! BREMERICH JEANS sells japanese denim, american workwear, heavy boots and all the other stuff we like. in ILLINGEN?, you may ask – yes indeed, and it works! so it will get exciting visiting his 8TH “MAENNERABEND” tonight. a lot of clients and friends were invited and the guys from EAT DUST, PASSIONFRANCE®, RED WING SHOES, THE ONE GOODS and ME. my copywriter PETER will join the event too. i think it will be a relaxed evening with good talks, drinks and typical “MAENNERABEND” food. more to post the next days. the EAT DUST STUFF for today came on time with a special personal deliviery some days ago; check the video below. vid | BREMERICH JEANS || pics | LTG
these are from the days when i was smoking frequently my beloved GITANES. found the lighters when cleaning up my office last weekend. nowadays i smoke just at special occasions, f.ex. when sitting together with good friends, drinking some beer or good wine – and this happens sadly really rare. but the ZIPPO lighters i won’t give away, because they accompanied me such a long time, everyday over too much years. very special is the RED WING SHOES zippo. this one gave me GABOR MAGYAR from RWS HERITAGE EUROPE offhanded as a present, when we were smoking a cigaret and i told him how nice his zippo was … and the BETTIE PAGE ZIPPO is although really great as an collectors item. i remember me, that it isn’t available anymore, anywhere. it’s from the year 2000 > BETTIE PAGE ZIPPO® LIGHTER SERIES II #1: BLACK BETTIE. pics | LTG
a friend of mine send me the pics of this wonderful RWS boot. and the best is, that you can get it actually via eBay for your lady! it is a EU size 37 – check the tag in the pic below. this boot is absolutely rare and you can’t get it anymore, anywhere. the RWS leather is combined with waxed canvas – what a nice combination. we hope that this boot will go to a girl or a lady who knows and loves the special feature of this boot – this is definitely a life time gear piece! pics | HS
i am really happy to get one of 60 pairs that came strictly limited to europe, because this boot is an absolut must-have-collector-item. the boot is only available @ RED WING STORES. thx KAY from RW STORE BERLING & HAMBURG for reserving the boot. the 9877 was previously sold in JAPAN beside some other styles in that beautiful color: SEQUOIA GOLD. i did a post in october 2011: BOOT OF THE DAY | #91 | LIMITED RED WING BOOT 9871. the 9877 features some details of the first IRISH SETTER production in 1952. so the SEQUOIA colored leather is the original one followed by the famous oro-iginal. only at the top of right boot there are stamped RED WING letters: no corporate wing logo on the boot except the sole which is exactly the same on both boots. inside the 9877 there is the old version of the IRISH SETTER tag – beautiful! boot and RED WING SHOE experts sure will notice the square stitched corners where the leather is fixed to the tongue – an outstanding detail. the boot comes with heavy leather laces and in a wonderful IRISH SETTER labeled box. by the way, the 877 has on another very nice detail: on every eyelet the letters RED WING are engraved. the 877 will leave my collection. my friend PZ will adopt this really nice walked in boot. so i know these boots will be in good hands … pics | LTG
shit, what a f***ing amazing boot: the RWS 8807. we call this style “FRANKFURTER”. myself i own all 3 available types that you got in the past here in germany (from left to right in the photo below): #8133, #8804 and #8118. i love these styles with the SUPERSOLE® and i found this new “MAIZE MUSTANG” yellow “FRANKFURTER” @ one of the best japanese shops for boots & shoes: THREEWOOD. maybe one day the boot will be available like the new IRISH SETTER 9877 that was japan exclusive before 60 pairs came in a strictly limited version to the RED WING STORES over europe last month. pics | THREEWOOD
