A STAR, A FINGERPRINT AND A BOOT NECKLACE | 100% LIFE TIME GEAR

This necklace I wear for years 24/7. Love this simple combination of a star, little LEVI’s fingerprint when he was 2 years young and a silver boot … boots, boots and boots – a great passion for decades. The star is really nice: made of a Cuban coin from 1983. I got this once from an artist market.  The star is cutting-out with a very fine and small sew – damn hand made to a hair. Great – I remember me watching a man doing this with such a patience and peace of mind. The finger print i got from my son xmas 2009 i think. And what’s about the boot? That’s a secret … Mostly i combine the necklace with my beloved POPEYE amulet by FEINSCHMUCK or an angel wing chain by PATRICK MUFF. pics | LTG

THE REAL MCCOY’S HELMET BAG | US AIR FORCE

Helmet Bag? Since weeks this bag is my daily carrier – sure not for working: FILSON rules! –, but for all other activities. Sometimes I even take it as my sports bag – my soccer shoes and a towel fit into this bag and a 1 ltr. bottle of mineral water too. The bag is lightweight, made of nylon, has three interior pockets a shoulder strap so that I easily can take it with me on the bike. The zip is a heavy one and the lining soft. Just perfect – hope it will last forever! Take a look at the photos what I got with me when I was @ the doctors this morning. About the look we have do not have to speak: it’s simple, classic, without any useless shit, military inspired – perfect. Bought this bag last year @ volls.de. BLACK VEGETABLE LEATHER SUNGLASS CASE | by ONDURA – DURABLE GOODS

A few days ago I got an envelope addressed by ONDURA. ONDURA? I heard about but where? And while opening i got an idea: i know it from the BURG & SCHILD blog. Yes, ONDURA DURABLE GOODS is the Label behind German LEENS JAN ONDRA. He has an interesting story and I am really happy, that he send me this great sunglass case to check it … and for sure for me it is an honor to write something about it. The case from the “Black Bear”-Edition has a great touch, made of 3 mm high quality vegetable leather. It is hand sewn and the “nose” is made from European beech wood. Because I also wear optical glasses I know what a good glass case makes a good one: and this one is a perfect one. The functionality is impressing even when I put my fat framed glasses to it. It is always easy to close the case, nothing is to tight, to bulky. Next time I will order the another one – I think a tan one. And for sure everything is made by hand here in Germany. Sustainability is really important for LEENS. The leather he uses is from a small tannery just around the corner and all the other needed stuff is from the region he lives. His motto is “Local Goods – Think global buy local.” Authenticity and durability are a matter of course to the products he creates and produces. The product range is growing constant. THE ONE WHO KNOCKS POMADE & BLUE JACKET BEARD OIL | by SHEAR REVIVAL

Some weeks ago I discovered the one and only TOWK “THE ONE WHO KNOCKS” POMADE by SHEAR REVIVAL. For me the absolute best pomade i ever used the last nearly 20 years. The consistency, the usage and this unique and perfect smell is unbeatable. I discovered TOWK at the wonderful done THE POMP site. Check the video below and you will see TOWK in use and a well done review. TOWK is made of beeswax, white petroleum, organic coconut oil, microcrystalline wax, jojoba oil, castor oil, fragrance oils. It is a traditional petro/oil based pomade. I need two washes to get it out. The hold is just perfect for my light hair: medium/firm and for me so important: the whole day renewable without using another portion of pomade. The smell is a killer: it is an oak aged bourbon scent with hints of oak, vanilla and coffee. Because of this IT KNOCKS! My mother told me that this pomade smells similar to the one her dad, my grandpa, used a long time ago – classic. The color ist light blue and it is made in Asbury, New Jersey, USA. The Blue Jacket Beard Oil is very nice too and for sure it is also pure organic made. The smell is very nice but not so KNOCKING and after use your beard is so smooth. Very fine. And the prices from Shear Revival are fine too! The problem for us Oversea-People is to get this wonderful stuff. Just directly from the states. What a wonderful boot! When I had to compose a boot for my own it could have the same look as this ALDEN available @ FRANS BOONE did with. From the bootleg to the sole – just perfect. Love the chocolate structured grain calf leather combined with one of my most beloved soles: the ALDEN crepe sole with a leather tip. Combine this great look: the brass eyelets and hooks. CUSTOM LEATHER WALLET LANEYARD COMBINED WITH A SILVER STINGRAY HOOK FO RED MOON WALLET | by FEINSCHMUCK

I think this is one of the most awesome pieces I own. Damn, when I got this shit out of the sack where it was packed i said “YES, YES, YES … this is it” Great. FEINSCHMUCK you did best work again. The stingray patterned hook is so nice to look at and touch and the lanyard which was done by great leather artisan ARNO BUCK needs no words. Sorry, but i must praise myself a bit because the idea for this combination i had myself. The lanyard of my beloved RED MOON wallet which is now about 9 years old breaks more and more and so i was searching for a lanyard which fits this wonderful wallet … but i couldn’t find one. So FEINSCHMUCK and ARNO had to made one. THX ALEXANDER for attending this great job and made my idea real. The anchor is a vintage piece from WERKSTATT MUENCHEN; it’s about 15 years old and I wore it a long time around my neck. enjoy the pics. pics | LTG

THE GIGANTIC BEARD THAT WAS EVIL | A GRAPHIC NOVEL BY STEPHEN COLLINS

What a wonderful book. A friend of mine ULI GASPER gave me the hint that i had to check this graphic novel as a beard lover. So I did. It is amazing. THE TIMES says “This book is a the same time a satire, a cut-off and a catastrophe film – an experience”. THE OBSERVER: “This book must be a classic”. THE GIGANTIC BEARD THAT WAS EVIL or in german, “Der gigantische Bart, der böse war” tells the story about Dave, who is living in a land called HERE, where all people live  a monotone and regulatory overkilled life. When Dave begins someday to think over the sense about this f***ing world he lives in, a gigantic beard begins to grow: a shocking occasion which made such a chaos to Dave’s life and the whole land he lives in. This graphic novel is a bow to these great names: ORWELL, KAFKA and GODZILLA. So exciting, so very well drawn – a wonderful book done by STEPHEN COLLINS who lives in London. 240 pages, hardcover, 21,5 x 30,5 cm big. pics | LTG

I own 2 new beard combs and I am testing 2 new beard oils which make me happy every morning i use one of these. The combs are not only beautiful but great to handle too. So lightweight and so nice to touch. And they work perfect – it was never so easy to treat the beard. My sailor jerry style pin up girl engraved comb No.9 is “crafted with a laminated technology, which ensures that your comb is made as tough as possible. The comb is made from a total of five layers,  with the two inner layers running perpendicular to the face layers to add rigidity and strength to the teeth and body of the comb. With this process we’ve drastically increased the strength to ensure your comb will be around for quite some time.” The combs are made from Canadian wood cut down by Lumberjacks. BUTTS AND SHOULDERS | THE ROUGH COLLECTION – NEW BAG COLLECTION LAUNCHED

Some day ago I got some news from my buddy WOUTERS co-founder of BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and the man behind the great LONG JOHN blog. They launched their new collection named “THE ROUGH COLLECTION”. this collection “are variations on our beloved virgins”, they say, “The same bold Butts and Shoulders style and the same attention it deserves. Clean and classic with a lot of style!”. So the collection features the 3 classic BAS bags: Travel Bag, Worker Bag – my favorite – and the Post Bag. All models are now availabe in four new treated leather variations: brown (cognac),  dark brown,  dark Green (army) and striped blue/black leather. On every bag the brnading is sprayed by hand.
