B74 SELECTED GOOD x LEICA GALERIE FRANKFURT | SUMMERPARTY
Yesterday I joined the summer party of B74 and LEICA Galerie in Frankfurt Main, Germany. It was such a nice party while the temperatures run up to 40°C / 104°F and more. On hour way home the instruments in the car showed 40.5°C outside … damn hot for a middle European. But the party was really cool, because KAMI owner and founder of B74 SELECTED GOODS, his team and the guys from LEICA did a really good job when they organized this event. Wonderful finger food corresponding to the hot summer weather, best service – i can’t remember me a minute without an ice cold water or lemon in my hand. I am a bit said that i could not meet the special guest Rainer W. Schlegelmilch. When I had to leave in the afternoon he still wasn’t there. Schlegelmilch is one of the most famous Formula 1 Photographers in the world. In the rooms of B74 there was an exhibition with examples of Schlegelmilchs great work. I had the great pleasure to work with him in a project for a common client years ago. We did a Formula 1 calender. Yesterday you have had the chance to buy his book and to get a signature by the master himself. But no master, no book. Although the weather was so damn hot a lot of people came and amazingly all people where in a good mood while sweating to the bones … pics | LTG
“THE WHOLE FILM IN 5 SECONDS” | THE BEST FILMS EVER – WITHOUT ANY WORDS – JUST EXPLAINED IN SIMPLE GRAPHICS
Damn, I love this book. There isn’t a day since I bought it that I did not take a look inside. The idea is amazing and I had to laugh all the time. The graphics are so reduced to the maximum and so simple, sometimes childish but always 1,000 % to the point. “This is the perfect book for film buffs and anyone with a sense of humour or a short attention span.” I Got the German issue, but in ther imprint i saw that there must be an English original issue from 2013 with the title “FILM IN FIVE SECONDS” published by Quercus Publishing Plc, London. The book is made by MATTEO CIVASCHI and GIANMARCO MILESI – well done guys! The pictures you’ll find below are just some of my absolutely most beloved films. 150 Movies in graphics … where to start? Where to end? The next days I will give you the right titles to the graphics. But I think you’ll know a lot. Photos | LTG || Graphics | MATTEO CIVASCHI and GIANMARCO MILESI

THE HARD LUCK & SAILOR’S DREAM BANDANAS / NECKERCHIEFS by SJC SIMON JAMES CATHCART
A few days ago I got the 2 bandanas I ordered from SJC. And I got what I expected: 2 awesome, smooth silk pieces, rich colored with wonderful and extraordinary old school graphics. I am really fascinated by the quality of the HARD LUCK & SAILORS DREAM called neckerchiefs. I think if you check the pics below you will feel the smoothness by your eyes. Look at the bright colors. Both are hand finished with rolled edges and stitched in contrasting thread to make the edges pop – love this kind of stitching! With this 2 pieces SIMON started his 2015/16 collection. With the beginning of this week his website got relaunched and is full packed with new stuff … damn had to order one piece more after checking this great stuff of jackets, chinos, shorts and denim. I just read this quite a minute ago: SJC is featured in MEN’S FILE. No wonder, SIMON – compliments – you do a great job! pics | LTG
CHEVROLET EL CAMINO WILL RETURN | 1959 to 2016 – AMAZING BROCHURES
Love this Chevy shit. I am a great CAMARO fan and also a driver of an amazing 4th generation orange beast. But beside i rather love nearly all the classic Chevys from the 50s to the late 70s and early 80s. So iI was really surprised that one of my absolute favorites will be produced again: the Chevrolet El Camino. Found this information @ http://newestcars2016.com. They write that 2016 the El Camino will be launched. And this what the Bold Ride site tells about this spectacular launch: “2016 Chevy Camaro’s debut is just around the corner. With it, comes the new lightweight Alpha platform and a host of different engine and power options. Indeed, the next generation Camaro is looking to take on Ford’s Mustang and hoping to squash the rivalry once and for all. But the use of GM’s Alpha platform had us wondering what else Chevy could do with it. It already sits under the ATS, CTS and upcoming Camaro, but there seems to be endless possibilities for the lighter, more advanced frame. That’s where this El Camino SS concept comes into play. Sent to us on Facebook by way of the Camaro5 forum, this future look at a new El Camino has us drooling.” The original El Camino was produced between 1959/1960 and then from 1964–1987. Check out the nice vintage folder and brochures below – so nice graphics – what an awesome car! pics | Chevrolet // Folder & brochures collected by Old Car Manual Project

DOL GIN & BOIS 1920 DOLCE DI GIORNO FOR MY SOUL FROM SOUL OBJECTS, BERLIN
Do you know SOUL OBJECTS? I think everyone knows soul objects and has some favorite soul objects for his own. But do you know the store SOUL OBJECTS? If you don’t it is time to check it out. SOUL OBJECTS is a great store in the heart of Berlin, Germany. In short: you get there vintage & antique furniture, curious beard grooming products and barbershop supplies, non-standard accessories, a lot of handmade, unique stuff & bags, vintage rum & whiskey, gin, wine, art and, and, and so on. It is a must to check their site to learn more about this great store and its owners Kornelius & Oliver, men full of soul – they live what they sell. Look at the wonderful store photos full of soul below … awesome. Anyway, some weeks ago i ordered a new fragrance and another gin for my collection. Best choice! The Bois 1920 DOLCE DI GIORNO – Eau de Parfum is really something special. It would be too much to describe the smell and the idea behind this fragrance – and something more special: i got a limited art collection piece with a nice package design. DOL GIN is a direct hit for my gin collection. Great taste, not to fruity but so smooth. It is made in South Tirol, Italy. This is what the distiller says about his gin: “Florian Rabanser, the master distiller at Plunhof, is not only a perfectionist when it comes to the distillation of classic brandies and grappas, but he is also overflowing with creativity and impetus when it comes to the implementation of new ideas. Two years of developmental work have brought us the first gin distilled in the region, the first distilled only from herbs and ingredients grown here in the Dolomites. Together with the village apothecary, we have meticulously analyzed which herbs typically used in the production of gin grow here in the Dolomites, and which can be reasonably substituted with other local herbs. The high quality outcome is a real insiders’ tip and contains numerous plants and herbs, which grow wildly here in the area of Mount Sciliar. Only the indispensable lemon zest is brought in from Lake Garda. We must wait another 20 years until we can grow our own lemons here in Siusi allo Sciliar.” Interested? Yes. Have a nice weekend SoulSisters and SoulBrothers – enjoy! pics | Bois 1920 & Dol Gin LTG || picsstore | Soul Objects
WORKADAY WALLET by TANNER GOODS
What a lucky break. When visiting KAMI c/o B74 in Frankfurt some days ago, i found this nice little wallet lying in a glass cabinet. Didn’t noticed this TANNER GOODS classic before. It is their so called “WORKADAY WALLET” with enough space for many banknotes and a lot of cards. Great to put this little thing in the back pocket of your denim or chino. It is combined with waxed canvas and smooth leather. KAMI told me that there was a special edition which combined leather with this f***ing nice flashy orange hunting canvas. If anyone still has one of these please send me a message – thx. Isn’t the combination with my vintage TANNER GOODS card holder great? I wanna use the WW just for notes, not for cards. The other WW is owned by KAMI. He has his WW in use for about one year. Kami has left some wallets – if you can’t get your WORKADAY WALLET there please check the European distributors website: www.amtraq.com pics | LTG
FEINSCHMUCK LOOKBOOK by JOERN POLLEX
Yesterday i got a nice looking envelop with my daily post. Love this: a real hand written message brought by my postman to the letterbox. It was from JOERN POLLEX, well known as a great photographer located in Hamburg, Germany. He send me the new lookbook from FEINSCHMUCK which he photographed and did the layout – in short: a fantastic work. As a frequently reader of LTG blog you know that I am a great fan of FEINSCHMUCK from the first hour on. And now with this very well done lookbook all the work from MANFRED, MARIA and ALEX is packed into a perfect media to hand out and to look at. JOERN did everything right to arrange the best mood and feeling corresponding to the FEINSCHMUCK stuff. You can watch the whole lookbook with this link FEINSCHMUCK LOOKBOOK. It is a pdf including all sites. I wanted to show you real pics not just the pdf and so i did just some example shots of sites which i liked most. Again: great job JOERN. pics | LTG
SIEGFRIED RHEINLAND DRY GIN | THERE’S A NEW GIN IN THE HOUSE
Read about this stuff somewhere some time … sorry, i don’t know it anymore and for sure it is not important. But I am really happy to find this great German GIN. Not because of its winning “WORLD SPIRITS AWARD 2015” but because of its sensational taste. But it is interesting that SIEGFRIED is the highest ranked German Gin ever at World Spirits Award 2015. Because I am not a virtuous Gin Taster – I just can tell you that I like it because of its extremely fresh spicy ginger taste – here is what the makers of SIEGFRIED say about its smell and taste:
“Smell/nose: Gentle citrus notes of bitter orange are accompanied by hints of thyme , cardamom and juniper and thus develop a harmonious complexity.
Taste:The freshness of lavender meets spicy- earthy notes of ginger, angelica root, cubeb and is finished with a subtle, warm character of linden blooms, which make SIEGFRIED to SIEGFRIED.”
I was really impressed about the taste. I just tried it pure with some ice and later mixed with some Thomas Henry tonic water on citron – great. SIEGRIED Rheinland Dry Gin is as its name tells you from the Rhine Region, made of a composition of 18 fine botanicals.Linden blooms are used as its lead botanical. The Linden Tree has a leading role in ancient German Nibelung Saga, when a leaf landed on Siegfried’s back, while enjoying his bath in the blood of a dragon. “Driven by the sheer desire for honest and artisan products we have developed this premium gin. SIEGFRIED is traditionally distilled in small units from only the finest ingredients, without any industrial tools, artificial flavors or additives, with calm, patience and attention to detail.” And I love the design of the bottle – well done. You can order your SIEGFRIED directly from the distiller: SIEGRFRIED SHOP pics | LTG
