THE HARD LUCK & SAILOR’S DREAM BANDANAS / NECKERCHIEFS by SJC SIMON JAMES CATHCART

A few days ago I got the 2 bandanas I ordered from SJC. And I got what I expected: 2 awesome, smooth silk pieces, rich colored with wonderful and extraordinary old school graphics. I am really fascinated by the quality of the HARD LUCK & SAILORS DREAM called neckerchiefs. I think if you check the pics below you will feel the smoothness by your eyes. Look at the bright colors. Both are hand finished with rolled edges and stitched in contrasting thread to make the edges pop – love this kind of stitching! With this 2 pieces SIMON started his 2015/16 collection. With the beginning of this week his website got relaunched and is full packed with new stuff … damn had to order one piece more after checking this great stuff of jackets, chinos, shorts and denim. I just read this quite a minute ago:  SJC is featured in MEN’S FILE. No wonder, SIMON – compliments – you do a great job! pics | LTG

BUTTS AND SHOULDERS | THE ROUGH COLLECTION – NEW BAG COLLECTION LAUNCHED

Some day ago I got some news from my buddy WOUTERS co-founder of BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and the man behind the great LONG JOHN blog. They launched their new collection named “THE ROUGH COLLECTION”. this collection “are variations on our beloved virgins”, they say, “The same bold Butts and Shoulders style and the same attention it deserves. Clean and classic with a lot of style!”. So the collection features the 3 classic BAS bags: Travel Bag, Worker Bag – my favorite – and the Post Bag. All models are now availabe in four new treated leather variations: brown (cognac),  dark brown,  dark Green (army) and striped blue/black leather. On every bag the brnading is sprayed by hand. And for sure these great bags will getting even nicer by using them everyday. As all BAS stuff these bags are made in Holland, Europe, in stricly limited quantities. PRESENTATION OF RED WING POST & RED WING MUNSON IRON RANGER #8012 @ RED WING STORE FRANKFURT

two days ago i did a trip to B-74 & AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION order show in FRANKFURT/MAIN to check new stuff and meet some friends. at this evening there was the presentation of the #01 issue RED WING POST and the RWS MUNSON IRON RANGER style #8012 at the RWS STORE FRANKFURT. the publicatiobn and the boot … both are very well done and it was nice that this news were celebrated with a little party along with friends and RED WING aficionados. thx to KAMI, owner of RWS STORE FRANKFURT, and his team for this nice evening. and folks, pick up your free issue of the RED WING POST at your RED WING STORE in FRANKFURT, BERLIN, HAMBURG or MUNICH – the publication is only available at these stores! and it is a must to take a look at the awesome MUNSON boot which is strictly limited and also just available in the RWS stores. pics | LTG

damn, thank you so much FRED c/o RW1905 blog for this great supply of my beloved japanese FREE & EASY magazines. for more than five years it was an expensive fight to get my monthly issue – since FRED told me that he always has one issue to give away. he promised me that i will be the one who will get this free F&E. PHOTOGRAPHER JOERN POLLEX FOR AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION | HAMBURG HARBOR SHOOTING PART I

HAMBURG based photographer JOERN POLLEX send me some really great pics from a shooting he did for UWE E. MAIER c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION four weeks ago. i got so many beautiful pics that i decided to show you tomorrow some more and a making of video. some facts about JOERN: he learnt photographing at the age of 12 from his father. starting 30 years ago with that famous analog camera CANON A1 – i have had the same – he developped the photos in his own darkroom. JOERN did an education as a photographer and worked for GETTY IMAGES. since january 2014 he works as a freelancer. the AMTRAQ shooting was completely done by JOERN from the location search, model casting to picture editing and post production. yesterday i got the information from the RWS HERITAGE central europe, that the 5 new POSTMAN styles are now available @ the RWS dealers around europe. so one of the most beloved but at the same time hated styles the #101 now gets a fashion touch – with all this new colors and mostly because of the white RWS cushion crepe outsole which is really important for a lot, maybe the most of all the RWS lovers. for me, there is only one POSTMAN: the #101. here some information from RWS HERITAGE: “Red Wing Heritage proudly presents 5 new Postman shoes,  inspired by style no.101,  Red Wing’s original postman shoe. Designed, to meet Postal Service requirements,  the 101 is sturdy, sleek and simplistic and these characteristics served America’s, mailmen well. First introduced in 1954, Red Wing is now expanding on this style with five more casual variations. The new Postman shoes are built using the same leather upper as the 101 including a dog tail, blind eyelets and a Goodyear, Welt. Premium Red Wing leathers,  made at Red Wing Shoe’s very own S.B. Foot tannery are used to craft the new, Postman.
