THE REAL MCCOY’S HELMET BAG | US AIR FORCE

Helmet Bag? Since weeks this bag is my daily carrier – sure not for working: FILSON rules! –, but for all other activities. Sometimes I even take it as my sports bag – my soccer shoes and a towel fit into this bag and a 1 ltr. bottle of mineral water too. The bag is lightweight, made of nylon, has three interior pockets a shoulder strap so that I easily can take it with me on the bike. The zip is a heavy one and the lining soft. Just perfect – hope it will last forever! Take a look at the photos what I got with me when I was @ the doctors this morning. About the look we have do not have to speak: it’s simple, classic, without any useless shit, military inspired – perfect. Bought this bag last year @ volls.de. CUSTOM LEATHER WALLET LANEYARD COMBINED WITH A SILVER STINGRAY HOOK FO RED MOON WALLET | by FEINSCHMUCK

I think this is one of the most awesome pieces I own. Damn, when I got this shit out of the sack where it was packed i said “YES, YES, YES … this is it” Great. FEINSCHMUCK you did best work again. The stingray patterned hook is so nice to look at and touch and the lanyard which was done by great leather artisan ARNO BUCK needs no words. Sorry, but i must praise myself a bit because the idea for this combination i had myself. The lanyard of my beloved RED MOON wallet which is now about 9 years old breaks more and more and so i was searching for a lanyard which fits this wonderful wallet … but i couldn’t find one. So FEINSCHMUCK and ARNO had to made one. THX ALEXANDER for attending this great job and made my idea real. The anchor is a vintage piece from WERKSTATT MUENCHEN; it’s about 15 years old and I wore it a long time around my neck. enjoy the pics. pics | LTG

BUTTS AND SHOULDERS | THE ROUGH COLLECTION – NEW BAG COLLECTION LAUNCHED

Some day ago I got some news from my buddy WOUTERS co-founder of BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and the man behind the great LONG JOHN blog. They launched their new collection named “THE ROUGH COLLECTION”. this collection “are variations on our beloved virgins”, they say, “The same bold Butts and Shoulders style and the same attention it deserves. Clean and classic with a lot of style!”. So the collection features the 3 classic BAS bags: Travel Bag, Worker Bag – my favorite – and the Post Bag. All models are now availabe in four new treated leather variations: brown (cognac),  dark brown,  dark Green (army) and striped blue/black leather. On every bag the brnading is sprayed by hand. And for sure these great bags will getting even nicer by using them everyday. As all BAS stuff these bags are made in Holland, Europe, in stricly limited quantities. LTG BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 28 | VINTAGE DURANGO WEST STOVEPIPE BOOTS

Put these pretty rugged DURANGO WEST STOVEPIPE BOOTS out of one of my large boot storage boxes in the basement. It is time to wear some western boots again … and damn, these are so nice: what a great patina. The leather was treated as it was: so irregular in its colors with so many different structures. The boots were a bit dry of a longtime storage so I decided to treat them with MUSTANG PASTE knowing that they will get a bit darker – a very nice colorway too. got this wonderful red colored DOUK-DOUK from volls.de – KLAUS sells PASSION FRANCE now. and for sure i did not know since yesterday that this french classic knife is available in a wonderful rich enamel red – a must-have-item. and the best i got it as a present from KLAUS … thx buddy! formerly the DOUK-DOUK was designed to be sold in french colonies. the engraving on the handle of this knives depict a “DOUK-DOUK”, a native mythological character. my red DOUK-DOUK shows “THE SORCIER” (the sorcerer). the knife is still made from stainless steel in france, its blade is a “turkish clip” contour and its handle is folded steel-metal. it has very slim proportions so that you can put in any pocket. beside, DOUK-DOUK is the preferred knife of the FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION. for much more information please check douk-douk.com . my DOUK-DOUK is kept by a OBBI GOOD LABEL MTC wallet chain – love this. its great when you can put a knife to your pant this way. the red DOUK-DOUK CHROMATIQUE is delivered in a red soft leather slip case so that you could put it to your belt. a steel honing rod is included too.  … pics | LTG

POPEYE got updated by SONY PICTURES ANIMATION. as a great POPEYE fan i do not really know if i like what i see here. SONY has dropped a test footage: just with temp voices and the caveat this sequence will not used in the finished movie. well know GENNDY TARTAKOVSKY (HOTEL TRANSYLAVANIA) is the maker of the new POPEYE film and he shares the enthusiasm for the project and character. it is his desire to update it and be respectful. but take a view …the film be be released in 2016. video // © Sony Pictures Animation // Genndy Tartakovsky

RED WING SHOES AT WORK | OXFORD RWS #8103 IN THE FIELD

yesterday i went to france to a small village named SCHEIBENHARD in the ALSAC region, just 5 miles behind the former german border line. i did art direction for one of my clients while having a photo shoot in the field with a lot of agriculture crafts to show the great range of tires and the use of these. damn, it was so hot and sticky. so it was a good decision to choose the RWS oxfords because of the traction, the comfort and the easy clean behind. sorry for these bad iphone pics from the shooting itself. but isn’t the FORD TRACTOR barn found not nice. it was built 1970 and got a new turbo machine last week. the sound is incredible. pics | LTG

LTG’S DUPONT LIGHTERS | FROM PAST TO PRESENT

today i got my new CIGAR LIGHTER by DUPONT, PARIS – in bright orange what else?! now when the evenings get warmer there is nothing better than smoking a cigar and drinking a glass of wine while reading the newspaper on the fresh renovated roof-deck over the tops of DARMSTADT city. so i decided to replace the matches by a contemporary lighter. nice to find a DUPONT for an acceptable price. this one is my third DUPONT. my first, the silver one, i got from my parents when i got eighteen … well, long time ago. the second i bought about 15 years ago: a vintage line 2 gold combined with “LAQUE DE CHINE” which is really rare to find and so got really expensive now. it is a pity that both vintage lighter don’t work anymore. they lose gas in between hours and i brought them 2 times to the service but they could not solve the problem. so i am just happy to hear the unique smart snap sound when opening and closing these 2 DUPONTS. if you compare the sounds of a ZIPPO to DUPONT it is like comparing a CATERPILLAR to a CITROEN DS. pics | LTG

VINTAGE LEVI’S RED JEANS FOUND | PART II “HOLDEN”

this is the second pair of LEVI’S RED denim i found in my box. the “HOLDEN” must be from 2003 or earlier. it has a wide carpenter fit, a classic workpant with no backriser and a high hem. straight leg, bearing two unequal slash pockets and knife pocket on the left side leg, black sew-on suspender buttons and uneven belt loops. this HOLDEN is made from 10oz sulphur-dyed twill fabric which gives this special light blue color and worn out look. unfortunately the jeans got marks from storage – i do not know how this could happen. found the same HOLDEN but brand new in japan for 340 US $. it is apitty that it got a bit too small … pics | LTG
