D-A-D – 30 YEARS 30 HITS 30 GIGS | SIGNED LIMITED CD

time is running: this year one of my absolute favorite bands ever D-A-D celebrates its 30th birthday. i wasn’t a fan from the beginning because of don’t knowing this danish great rockin’ guys. but  i remember that my first album was from 1987. it was “D.A.D DRAWS A CIRCLE”. i love the songs on it till today … and they never will get out of style: just rockin’ without any fuckin’ shit around … hand made, straight, honest, melodic, sometimes harder, sometimes smoother … catchy … thanks guys for 30 years of this! two weeks ago i got my limited signed anniversary album: BEST OF D-A-D 30 YEARS 30 HITS 1984 – 2014. very well done: good choice of the songs and wonderful cover with embossed types and the signatures of JESPER (voc) and JACOB BINZER (gui), STIG PEDERSEN (bass) and LAUST SONNE (drums). so, see you in may @ BATSCHKAPP, frankfurt, germany, to have a birthday party. i do not know how often i’ve seen this great band – but i know, it could be never too often. and JESPER respect: good stlye. like your 2-tone WOLVERINE 1000 MILES boots – i got the same dark brown/black colored … pics | LTG, facebook D-A-D

LTG BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 24 | THE REAL McCOY’S FIELD SHOES N-1

after a five months break i will continue my LTG BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION series. the boot today is really outstanding and this not only because of the price – this one is so well done and crafted. it is a replica of the N-1 official US NAVY BOOT during WWII, which was called the “BOONDOCKER”. the people at REAL McCOY’S found an original boot which was really hard to find. and from this boot they took all the specifications and made a – sorry for me – one of the most perfect boots, you can get today. love the triple stitching details and enjoy the perfect fitting day by day. i got my boots from volls.de but he did not put these nice pieces online. another option here in europe is superdenim in the UK. important: size down half a number (US size). pics | LTG

BOOK “MASS-SCHUHE” – CUSTOM SHOES – BY AXEL HIMER FOR THE GENTLEMAN’S LIBRARY

some days ago i got this book from OLLI THE BARBER as a birthday present. great – i did not know the book “MAßSCHUHE”. very well done with a lot of photos, illustrations, graphics and useful informations, more than 220 pages. the absolute right thing for a shoe maniac like me. thx OLLI! beside the contents, the book itself is made so nice. look at the old school hard cover with golden embossments and the best: the pages have a golden cut – awesome … like a bible … i think this touch is wanted by the editor of the GENTLEMAN’S LIBRARY. there are two books more: CLASSIC SPORTSCARS, WATCHES. pics | LTG

THE “COOLEST” TRUCK EVER | 6.8 TON CHEVY PICK UP MADE OF AN ICE BODY

damn, this is really cool, isn’t it? this driving refrigerator CHEVY truck was weighting 6.8 tons. it was made by 76 old JULIAN, an ice artist who is working around the world for example president and actor parties in dubai, thailand, new zealand or india. he is making lounges and bars of ice. but building an ice truck was the first time for the man out of HENSALL, a very small village in ONTARIO, canada. the truck was build for a TV-SPOT for car components, in this case especcially for batteries. the motto was “TESTED FOR LIFE IN CANADA”. beside, with a drive on the highway they wanted to get an entry in the GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS. not so easy, imagine that when the 8 cylinder big block runs it gets really hot in the motor compartment. so they had to cool this section massiv down while running the engine. the CHEVY had to drive at least 1,5 kilometers with more than 20 km/h to get the entry in the book. a special stuntman drove the CHEVY about 4 kilometers with the needed speed at the 12th of december 2013. after 40 hours melting there was just the engine and the chassis left. what a project … pics | iceculture

okay it is 4 weeks ago that the BURG & SCHILD webshop went online. but it is like it is: less time for me to do the blog posts i wanted before and after christmas because of heavy working. so here we go. searching for a MA-1 jacket from BUZZ RICKSON or REAL McCOY’s i stopped at the new B&S shop, which is really succeed. well done and perfect fitting for the brands and the guys behind BURG & SCHILD. with a rocking and biking attitude, no fashion and pussy affection. straight graphics and wonderful detailed pics f.ex. of this great MA-1 20 years anniversay BR jacket. very nice the small category drawings grey on black – like them very much! there is a new clothing label, and i do not want to write down its name again, because i do not want to do marketing for a label which tries to get attention at any price with bad taste pics. i really wonder that nobody of the enthusiastic readers of this german men magazine showed any reaction reffering to this ad: an execution commando at work. i think because of the label name the pic is from the SPANISH CIVIL WAR. international brigades fought against FRANCO and the fascism federations supported by a.h. & mussolini. the ad was done by the editor of this men magazine and owner of the label. okay … what wants the maker of the ad say to me? „männer brauchen ideale” – “men do need ideals”. ahm, well, …? sorry, maybe i am too stupid, but i do not understand. okay, fighting against fascism is always a good thing. is this the quintessence of the headline corresponding to the picture? still bad taste. for me it is not correct to do marketing for a fashion label in this way. not political – absolutely in need of an explanation. and beside, the motive is terrible. think about the family of this man waiting to be killed in a moment. what will be the next motive? i can’t write what i am thinking about this. isn’t there any sensitiveness today? i’am really disappointed about all the readers who just accept such a f***ing shit without any comment. this is not heritage, vintage, cool or something like that. blame on you! …

NEW ALDEN ORDER ARRIVED @ VOLLS

KLAUS from volls.de gave me a call that the new ALDEN order has just arrived. all new ALDEN boots got a VOLLS print inside. very nice and i would be proud of it … and i think KLAUS is. he got 6 new different style exclusively made for VOLLS.  all in different shapes, leathers, color combinations but all with leather soles. my favorites are the beige colored, doubled soled INDY BOOT, the tan suede PLAIN TOE BOOT and the tan CHUKKA – very nice, smart but cool and best crafted – ALDEN. pics | LTG

hearing HIGH HOPES the new album of THE BOSS and the version of GHOST OF TOM JOAD with TOM MORELLO from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE i remembered this great video. damn. when i saw it the first time i got flashed. this is a wonderful version of the song even more since i know about the history of TOM JOAD and STEINBECK’S “THE GRAPES OF WARTH”. these are 9:00 minutes pure emotion what THE BOSS and TOM MORELLO performed at the 29th and 30th of october 2009 at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, nyc. and now a new studio version of this song by these two great artists is on HIGH HOPES – great! i love it … but the live version is even better! pics & video | © Bruce Springsteen & Tom Morello

in july 2011 i did a post about MASH’s reproduced WWII US ARMY & AAF M-42 SERVICE SHOES. this post seems to be very interested for you guys – since more than 2.5 years still a lot of people check this blogpost. so i will you show a second reproduction that is well done and sold by MASH, japan: the WWII US ARMY & AAF M-43 SERVICE SHOES. as nice as the M42 with a lot of great details exactly authentically reproduced from the original boot. the WWII shoe lasts which are well known as “DR.
